Wow... putting that into perspective, Eric would have been 37 tomorrow and I can remember 4/20 pretty clearly, getting home from school and putting on the news. You think of how much you change between the ages of 18 and 37 too...

Today is the day! Happy Birthday(?) to both Eric Harris and Stephen Paddock

April is a popular month regarding mass murderers. Seung-Hui Cho committed the massacre at Virginia Tech on April 16. The Boston Marathon bombing happened on April 15. Timothy Mcveigh blew up the building in Oklahoma city on April 19. Then there is obviously the Columbine massacre on April 20 (E&D were pretty envious of the OK bombing, and I think I remember them mentioning doing the attack on the anniversary in their journals).

Some other April mass murder birthdays: Dylan Roof was born on April 3 (I just realized I share my birthday with him). Adam Lanza was born on April 22. Timothy Mcveigh was born April 23.

I'm sure there are more examples but these are all that came to my mind.

i'm planning on making an erfurt thread on the 26. it's a very interesting crime as it was carried out in Germany and Robert was very deadly with his aim, his shotgun failed so he resorted to his pistol. He shot all teachers in the head and killed 2 students through a door and shot a cop entering the school from a window. The 1 injury seems to be an accident as that person was injured by bullet fragments so one bullet likely fragmented and parts of it hit them on accident. If the bullet didn't fragment, he'd have 0 injuries caused by bullets, although many were wounded trying to escape (ie: broken bones, sprains, cuts, scrapes). It's kinda scary to think about what would've happened if he shot students too. Also, I feel the shotgun would send pellets everywhere in the teacher's bodies, potentially missing and only wounding, so he using his pistol was actually the deadliest choice, unless the shotgun was for incapacitation (not even a word but it should be) and breaching doors. Also, he chose a glock with a compensator for minimal recoil. He knew what he was doing and if it wasn't for Heise, he may have easily killed almost all of the teachers.

Also, I believe he may have been planning on escaping and possibly attacking another location due to using a balaclava and all black clothing. Mr. Heise recognized him so he couldn't escape.

EDIT: I don't think he thought he could just go home after shooting those people, I believe he would've went on a Dorner-type rampage. He was smart enough to know the security cameras caught him walking into the bathrooms so he had limited time to attack somewhere else. Assuming the footage is grainy, the police would take a while to analyze it so he could walk around for a day or two. He was intelligent, which is the worst kind of killer because they discover methods to kill efficiently and effectively, and choose the most useful weapons.
