He's still talking about his sister:

I'm glad. She's still in his heart.People deal in different ways but when you lose someone you love so much you often carry them with you daily for the rest of your life.

He's definitely sending out a great message to young people. Although I don't agree with him spreading the she said yes myth still all these years later but the fact that he can turn a tragedy like Columbine into something positive, I think that's great.

What makes him unlikable for me is he doesn't admits that school itself created monsters out of Eric and Dylan. He blames gun control and all that shit..

The school environment may have exacerbated their issues, but it didn't create them.

I'm sure there were other students who had a far worse time than E&D, who never resorted to shooting up the school.

If Eric and Dylan weren't bullied, do you think massacre would still happen?

I certainly think they would still have murderous thoughts, particularly Eric.

Yeah, they would, but would they carry it out?

I think murderous thoughts are abundant in high schoolers. I agree with DooM that a primary motivation was bullying. People put a lot of weight in who they attacked and honestly that's irrelevant, just because they may have killed people that were not their aggressors doesn't mean their aggressors didn't cause such action.

In a school of that size Eric's plan of blowing it up was honestly the only way to get most of the bullies. You can't walk the halls and track them down. There were other factors involved of course. But from what I've gathered being ostracized and bullied were the top motivational factors.

Couldn't agree more. As a person who went through bullying in all shapes and forms and sought psychiatric help, I can fully confirm I had some messed up thoughts back then. Victims of bullying and ostracizing see the world with completely different eyes. There are no innocents, only those who ignore or pick on them. Being bullied isn't just feeling sad, it completely dehumanizes you of any feelings you held, and in some cases, even you become the bully.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I agree with what you said that sometimes a person who is being bullied just hates everyone. In high school I was the type to take up for anyone, guy or girl, even if I didn't know them. So I was detested by most of the bullies, but also by a few of the very people that I would stand up for.

I vividly recall 2 guys picking on a new kid who had only been at our school for a few weeks. They were shoving him around and something in me snapped. I pretty much put myself between him and the other two and was just trying to talk to them, to make them stop. I was successful in getting them to stop harassing him that day. Yet later this kid ended up shoving me into the wall and calling me a bitch. He said I had embarrassed him. He hated me from that day on. I mean this guy would give me death stares every single time he saw me. I could literally feel the hate coming off him in waves. Also the bullying got worse as other people saw him shove me, so he was picked on for that. I tried to talk to him several times, trying to fix the problem. But he just hated me, actually told me once that he wanted to rape me then strangle me to death. After that conversation I left him completely alone. Shocked

Eventually him being new wore off and people stopped picking on him. Yet he still went out of his way to make me know that he hated me. It was very confusing to 17 year old me. Although as an adult I now realize that he felt like I had questioned his manhood or something like that as little 5'1 me stood between him and his bullies. While it was never my intention to embarrass him, that was what he felt I had done.

SO sometimes its a damned if you do and dammed if you don't situation.  Some that are being bullied hate that people ignore it, while others hate that their bullying is acknowledged.

You can start lashing out after a while. Everyone in HS blends together now and I honestly can tell you who a few people were that were really mean but others I can't recall if they were just friends with the mean people or if they tried to stick up for me. I remember not trusting ANYONE, so even if someone was nice and said "Hi ScreamingOphelia, how are you today?" I would ignore them because I was being careful, I didn't want to open myself up to someone being cruel.

On my graduation day I was in line waiting to go on stage and the boy in front of me started at me, I stuck up for myself and he punched me in the back. The girl in front of him was a friend of his and told him to knock it off. Now when I think of that I think of Dylan and how he was said to have been aggressive towards women in class and at work. It's such a contrast from other people (especially women) who talk about how gentle and sweet he was. I now think about what that kid was going through at the time, why was I someone he was lashing out as but he had female friends that seemed so caring towards him?

Maybe the religious stuff isn't your cup of tea or the chirpy attitude? But you have to concede that he's a ballsy guy. His particular experience of that day is a real roller coaster.

The Scott's are actually very anti gun control. They blame the removal of Christian values from secular schools as the cause of Columbine.
