"Police are hunting for three suspects after a shooting Sunday afternoon outside Fashion Place mall, 6191 S. State St., in Murray. One woman and one man, both in their early 20s, have been injured and were transported to Intermountain Medical Center. The woman has been treated and released, while the man is critically injured, according to police.

The only description that police were able to give of the shooters was that they were wearing dark pants and light-colored hoodies or sweatshirts.

The shooting — it sounded like four rounds were shot — created panic throughout the mall, with customers and employees running when possible and hiding otherwise. One person at the mall posted their experience on YouTube.

According to photos provided to KUTV, it appears that at least five shoppers started helping the two people who were shot, using belts to put tourniquets on their legs before emergency responders arrived on scene.

The lockdown lasted more than an hour before police eventually escorted hundreds of people out of the mall, gathering at the Taco Bell to the north and the Red Lobster to the south. The mall is now cleared, Murray Officer Kenny Bass told reporters, and employees were let back in to gather their belongings. This shooting is now being investigated as a possibly gang related shooting and police are canvassing nearby neighborhoods.

Stella Fonseca, an assistant manager at Claire’s, was among those hiding who were eventually brought to Red Lobster. She helped barricade a back room with filing cabinets and lockers to hide herself, other employees and four customers.

“There was a sense of panic,” she said, wrapped in a blanket moments after leaving the mall.

Abbigail Loveridge, who works at the Attic Salt store, said she heard the fire alarm and then gunshots. “People started running. Right in front of our store, I watched people get shot down," she said. “Women and children are getting trampled, especially little kids.”"

Damn 2 shootings in 1 day? That's quite a milestone.
