I remember entering a conference room to the right, Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]… There was a woman motionless to the left of the door…and I knew she was alive (I believe she was crying quietly)… saw blood around her. Her breathing appeared good, her head and torso appeared uninjured, and I observed bleeding at her left leg. I told (her) I would be back…

The next room that I remember entering was Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]… I recall feeling that this was a high risk entry… I did not know the status of the shooter until I ran past his body… The shooter appeared to be of small stature and I did not know if he was a victim, but I then recognized a handgun near his head and another handgun secured on his person. My immediate impression was that he had committed suicide by shooting himself in the head… I do not recall the specifics of his injury, but I recall that his injury was not consistent with life and I did not check him for vitals or remove the weapons from him.

The first victim I came to in Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] was an adult female… I observed another adult female near a child a distance away. There were also a number of child victims in the room. I remember moving quickly among the bodies, checking for signs of life and I triaged their injuries. Some had injuries which were obviously not consistent with life; others took a little more time. It was my assessment that all victims in Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] were dead or gravely injured.

…my next memory is entering Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]… I observed the bodies of two adult females lying on the floor… there was an open door in the southwest corner of the room. I initially thought this was a closet. As I approached the door, I was initially unable to comprehend what I was looking at. As I stared in disbelief, I recognized the face of a little boy on top of a pile… I then began to realize that there were other children around the little boy and that this was actually a pile of dead children… I recall that many had horrific injuries.

…I decided that my services were best utilized if I worked in an EMS capacity as others worked to clear the building. (I have been active in EMS rescue associations and have held the certification of EMT or EMT Intermediate for more than 32 years). As I ran down the hall, I made a general statement that the injured should be brought to the front of the school for transport. I ran out the front of the school to TFC Kick and asked for his first aid kit as he had the only vehicle near the school. During this time I believe I first learned that there were two jackets outside the suspect’s vehicle and there were suspicions of a second shooter… I grabbed the kit and told TFC Kick to leave the keys in his car as well as to call for two additional cars to come up to the school to evacuate the injured, as we could not yet call ambulances in. TFC Kick called for additional patrol vehicles to the scene and I ran back into the school with his first aid kit (CSP radio time: 09:53).

My assessment was that I needed to treat the injured woman in Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] first. That woman had serious injuries but had a good prognosis if I could control her bleeding. The others all appeared to be dead or gravely injured on my initial assessment. I entered Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], donned gloves, and proceeded to treat the injured woman as Msgt. Davis covered me from the door. Msgt. Davis asked the victim for a description of the shooter and the victim, although very emotional, reported that the shooter was wearing black and had a mask. That was not what we had observed in Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Msgt. Davis then directed a local officer to cover me while he left with the information about a possible second shooter.

At one point I borrowed a knife from the local officer and cut the pants from the left leg of the female victim. I quickly bandaged her left leg and left hand, apologizing for the combat medicine and telling her this was just to get her to the ambulance. Not knowing how many patients I would treat, I tried to conserve medical equipment.

As I was bandaging the woman’s hand, CSP Detective Patrick Dragon entered and identified himself as an EMT..

Det. Dragon and I placed the woman in [a wheeled office] chair, one of the females in the room asked “Should we follow you out?” I said it was not safe, we needed to evacuate the victim, and that they would be safe where they were… I wheeled the woman out the front door and stopped near TFC Kick’s car. TFC Kick and I assisted the female victim into TFC Kick’s right front passenger seat and I directed Kick to drive her out to the ambulances.

…I remember standing at the triage point at the front of the school and being frustrated. Det. Dragon or I had carried a little boy out of the building and I was attending to him near the curb outside the front doors.

This victim came from Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. He was the only victim to be removed from Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. The cruiser that I had TFC Kick call for never arrived because all of the cruisers in sight belonged to personnel engaged in the search of the school. The troopers arriving were coming in on foot because the flood of parents was causing a log jam at the entrance to the driveway. I then observed Newtown Police Lieutenant Chris Vangheli outside a black SUV near the front of the school. I told him I needed to get a victim to an ambulance and needed a ride. He agreed and looked in the passenger compartment to make arrangements. Seeing that the cargo area was empty, I told him to open the rear hatch. I picked up the boy and climbed into the back of the SUV, telling Lt. Vangheli to leave the hatch open. Lt. Vangheli sped to the end of the driveway, having to drive up over curbs and swerve around the rush of parents. I kept speaking to the injured boy although he was completely unresponsive. I knew his condition was grave, but he was still breathing and had a pulse.

Looking down the driveway, I observed only two ambulances on scene. While I have no specific recollection of Newtown Officer Chapman carrying out a young female victim, I remember knowing that we had three victims in serious or critical condition and only two ambulances… I observed a paramedic arriving in a fly car… [and] explained that I was an EMT and we might have as many as 20 injured and that it was not safe for him to enter the school yet. I told him that the ER needed to be made aware… He directed me to put the boy into a nearby ambulance… When the door opened, I was relieved to see that the female [adult] patient was already in the ambulance and was alert. There was a male and female attendant in the back of the ambulance. The male said “we already have a patient”. I climbed in, told him that the female would make it to Danbury Hospital with bleeding control, and that I had a child [redacted] and that the paramedic was aware. I put the boy down on the right side bench seat of the ambulance and left.

My next recollection was that when I returned to the school I went back to Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]… had to check for possible survivors… I asked if anyone had access to a phone with a camera, as I was about to disturb the crime scene… My images of checking the children in the bathroom are not clear. I recall that the sight of the pile of children was unimaginable, and that some of the children had horrific injuries [redacted]. I know that I began to systematically check for signs of life and remove the children. I remember calling into the pile in the hope that a survivor would answer, and that I was watching and hoping to see movement. I pulled the children out of the pile one by one. As I did, I placed their bodies on the floor in the aisle of the classroom. I started nearest the bathroom and placed the children in a row leading toward the entry door. I had no specific memory of how many children I removed.

[redacted] remember being disappointed as I worked my way down to the bathroom floor without finding any survivors. I stopped when I had three children left on the bathroom floor. I could access them and confirmed that they were dead. I had no room outside the bathroom for any more bodies, and I could not justify disturbing the crime scene further to remove the remaining three children. I tried to count the number of dead between rooms [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], but my mind would not count beyond the lower teens and I kept getting confused.

The northern corridor of the school was still being cleared as I finished removing children from the bathroom in Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I believe I re-checked the victims in Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], and I next went to Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I remember saying that we needed to search the rooms again to check every area where a child could hide. I then heard a noise from the southwest corner of the room and recognized that a wheeled bookcase was likely concealing a bathroom. I froze when I heard the noise and Lt. Vangheli looked at me. I moved toward the bookcase announcing “State Police”. I pulled the bookcase aside and exposed the bathroom door. I could hear children talking and continued calling to them. An adult female voice asked for a badge. I couldn’t get to my badge, but Lt. Vangheli pulled his off and it was passed under the door. One of the children said “It is the police” after the badge went under the door. The female voice then said something about us needing a key to get into the room. I tried to talk her into opening the door as one of the members of the CSP ESU ran out to find a key. I believe the ESU trooper was TFC Faughnan. After telling us to get a key, the bathroom became very quiet and I became suspicious that something was wrong. TFC Faughnan arrived with a key which he handed to me. I was so anxious that I bent the key in the lock. I was able to push the door in only a few inches before there was resistance. I realized that the children were packed so tightly into the bathroom that I could not open the door. Most of the children in the bathroom appeared to be frightened and were crying. I had to squeeze the children out of the bathroom one by one and passed them off to waiting police officers and troopers. The last one out of the bathroom was the teacher, Kaitlin Roig. She was very emotional and I had to persuade her to come out. The troopers then worked together to get the children out of the building as a group.

As we ran across the parking lot with the children, I began to realize that my uniform was soiled with blood and tissue from Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I didn’t want the children or parents to recognize this and I broke from the group. As I walked back toward the school, I passed a triage station. I asked the EMS personnel for a towel to wipe off my uniform. Several just stared at my uniform, but one stepped up with a towel to help me clean myself. As I was disposing of the towel, Paramedic Matt Cassavechia approached me. I have known Cassavechia for many years and recognized him as the head of EMS for Danbury Hospital. Cassavechia asked me how long it would be until he could get into the building. I told him the building was not yet secured, that all the injured were out, and that numerous dead persons remained in the school. Cassavechia said “You know I’ve got to get into the building.”

I realized that, at some point, those victims presumed dead would have to be officially pronounced dead. We also needed to impact the fewest number of EMS personnel and that we needed to preserve the integrity of the scene. Looking around, I recognized two other senior paramedics that I believed had the experience and training to handle this situation tactically. I told Cassavechia I would bring himself, Paramedic Bernie Meehan, and Paramedic John Reed into the front of the school, which was secured at that point. They were told to bring minimal equipment. As we walked to the school, I tried to prepare them for what they were about to see. I told them of the number of victims and the nature of the wounds. I told Cassavechia, “This will be the worst day of your llife.” We entered at the northeast corner of the building and I announced their presence. I walked them west down the corridor and brought them to Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. They were told the locations of the victims and several troopers were assigned to remain with them for cover as well as to protect the integrity of the scene.

I then became part of a team following ESU [Emergency Service Unit] personnel as they cleared the building… made a complete loop [and] returned to the lobby area… I asked that all personnel involved in the initial response into the school be relieved and kept together in a group to watch and care for one another as we had been affected by what we had seen and done… Eventually, the initial responders were brought back to Troop A to meet with STOPS [State Troopers Offering Peer Support] personnel for a debriefing.

I recently finished watching "Don't Fuck With Cats: Hunting An Internet Killer" on Netflix. And it got me thinking about the collective power of dedicated internet researchers.

According to JCSO, the Tapes were destroyed in early 2011. Whether that is the case is not a question we can likely answer here. However, what we do know is the Tapes were recovered by investigators on April 20, 1999 and were not "destroyed" until 2011. So, there is a 12 year window for leaks/copies to have gotten out.

Given the level of dedication and curiosity of the Tapes to this community, I have faith we can recover/discover more than we currently know now!

So, let's make this thread a new headquarters for any and all information related to the "Basement Tapes".

Part I: What We Know.

A. The Tapes

The Tapes are three hours, 1 minute and fifty-five seconds long. (*This does not include the one hour, thirty six minutes, and twenty-six second tapes that JSCO released on October 21, 2003, i.e. "Rampart Range", and on February 26, 2004, i.e. "Radioactive Clothing", "Eric Inside Columbine", "Breakfast Run", "Hitmen for Hire", "Carwax Commercial", etc.).

Link to the one hour, thirty six minutes, and twenty-six second tapes that JSCO released on October 21, 2003 and on February 26, 2004:

The Tapes consist of four 8mm videocassette tapes and one micro cassette tape.

(A) VC Tape 1 (Almost Two Hours in Length).

This Tape was titled as evidence "Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]".

[You must be [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to see this image.]

(B) VC Tapes 2 & 3 (Twenty-Two Minutes in Length).

These two Tapes were titled as evidence "Item 298". Also known as "Reb's Tape".

(C) VC Tape 4 (About Forty Minutes in Length).

This Tape was titled as evidence "Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]". In his report, Officer Zimmerman noted this Tape had a handwritten label, "Top Secret Rampart".

(D) MC Tape 1

This Tape, and tape player, were titled as evidence "Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]". This Tape was labeled "Nixon".

B. The Timeline

March 15, 1999

Eric & Dylan record the first Tape. This Tape would later be titled as evidence "Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]" in JCSO's investigation.

Eric & Dylan are in the basement family room at Eric’s residence at 8276 South Reed Street.

Eric is sitting on a couch & Dylan is sitting on an adjacent chair, a coffee table is between them, and a handmade Blue afghan is visible in the corner.

Most of the tape is taken from this position while they discuss a number of different topics;

They speak of their hope that the videos they're making will one day be shown all over the world, when their "masterpiece" is done and everyone wants to know why they did it.

Dylan- I’d like to Thank Mark John Doe & Phil John Doe” [Mark Edward Manes 3-25-77 & Philip Joseph Duran 11-28-76]" I hope you don't get fucked"

“We used them, they had no Fucking clue. Don't blame them. And don't fucking arrest them. Don't arrest any of our friends, or family members or our co-workers. They had no fucking clue. Don't arrest anyone, because they didn't have a fucking clue. If it hadn’t been them it would have been someone else over 21"

They mention Green Mountain Guns’ message on Eric’s answering machine “Your clips are in"
Eric's dad, Wayne Harris, answered the phone.

When the clerk told him "Hey, your clips are in." Wayne - who owned guns himself - told the clerk he hadn't ordered any clips. Eric said his father never asked whether the caller even had the right phone number. Eric says if either the clerk or his father had asked just one question, "we would have been fucked.".

Dylan says- “ We wouldn’t have been able to do what we are going to do.”

They talk about Brandon Larson [Brandon E Larson Grade 10] stating "You will find his body"

They discuss bombs & reference "two bags” of “propane and napalm” sitting quietly

They discuss the shotgun & “Mr Stevens” [Mark C Stevens 11-11-58 Tanner Gun Show]

They say “We’re proving ourselves” They go on to discuss philosophies

“It’s humanity,” Dylan Klebold says, flipping an obscene gesture toward the camera. “Look at what you made,” he tells the world.

“You’re fucking shit, you humans, and you need to die,” he says.

Dylan- It’s Humans that I hate

Eric-“It’s fucking plain and simple,”

Dylan-“Whatever happened to natural selection?”

Both talked of being treated as nerds by athletes and others. Harris, an Air Force brat, said "the Fucking government closed the bases down.”

Eric goes on to complain about his father & the fact that they had to move five times & that he was always the fucking new kid in school & always at the bottom of the “fucking food chain” & had no chance to earn any respect. Whenever i’d start at a new school people would see me and say there’s another fucking scrawny white kid. “I had to go through all that shit so many times,”

Eric “More rage. More rage." (motions with his hands for emphasis) "Keep building it on."

Eric is wearing a black t-shirt with “Wilder Wein” [Rammstein song means Wild Wine] on the front. Eric references his shirt several times but does not explain what it means

Dylan: "If you could see all the anger I've stored over the past four fucking years..."

Dylan then recalls how popular and athletic his older brother Byron was and how he constantly "ripped" on him, as did his brother's friends. According to Dylan, with the exception of his parents, his extended family treated him like the runt of the litter.

Dylan: "You made me what I am. You added to the rage."

Dylan " I’m sorry I have so much rage but you put it in me,”

Harris said he planned to blow one youth’s face off and expected to receive the same treatment. I imagine I will be shot in the head by a Fucking cop."

Dylan says that as far back as the Foothills Day Care center he hated the "stuck-up" kids who he felt hated him. "Being shy didn't fucking help. I'm going to kill you all. You've been giving us shit for years."

Dylan says “Fuck you Walsh” They reference “Walsh” patrolling in Deer Creek

At one point they make some comments about there being a “month and a half left"

They again reference Green Mountain Guns & the message on the machine "your clips are in"

Dylan and Eric brag about hiding their tools of death -- and about the close calls along the way. Eric shows the camera a black tackle box with his bomb-making equipment stowed inside. They boast about concocting their plan under the noses of unsuspecting parents and friends

Eric tells about a day he was going to go shooting in the mountains. He had his shotgun in a gym bag: it was in his "terrorist bag, sticking out". When he walked by his mother, she saw the butt of the gun but she assumed it was nothing more sinister than his BB gun. Fooling people was a point of pride for both boys, one they gloat about during the video-taping.

Eric: "I could convince them that I'm going to climb Mount Everest, or I have a twin brother growing out of my back. I can make you believe anything.

Dylan recalls a time when his parents walked into his bedroom while he was trying on his trenchcoat to see if it would hide his sawed-off shotgun. "They didn't even know it was there."

They go on to discuss several individuals

Klebold- “Dustin Harrison, everything you say is fucking pointless”

Harris: “Shut the fuck up Nick, you laugh too much! And those two girls sitting next to you, they
probably want you to shut the fuck up, too! Jesus! Rachel and Jen . . . and . . . whatever.”

Klebold: Rachel, Jen, I don’t like you, you’re stuck up little bitches, you’re fucking little . . . Christian, Godly little whores!

Harris: Yeah . . . “I love Jesus! I love Jesus!” — shut the fuck up!

Klebold: What would Jesus do? What the fuck would I do?“ Ka-pow!” , mocking the WWJD bracelets Christians wear, then aiming his finger gun-like at the camera.

Harris: I would shoot you in your Little Pussy head!

Go Romans! Thank God they crucified that asshole.

Harris AND Klebold: Go Romans! Go Romans! Yeah! Wooo!

Eric discusses “Arlene” & about it being a 12 gauge Savage shotgun

They say “Thank’s to the gun show & to Robyn” “Robyn is very cool” [Robyn Kay Anderson 11-4-80]

They then decide to videotape a tour of “Reb’s room” & all the “illegal shit"

During the time that they have been sitting on the couch & the chair they were drinking from a Jack Daniel’s whiskey bottle. Eric mentions that he has the whiskey bottle

They stand up from where they had been sitting & take the camera & begin videotaping Eric’s lower level bedroom

Eric: (waves at the camera) "Hi, mom.

While touring Eric’s room, the two would act like typical teenagers, even burping into the camera at one point. They wash down Sweet Tart-like Candies with whiskies at another interval.

They began videotaping a desk with a hutch in Eric’s bedroom

Eric points out a pair of gloves he took from a doctor’s office which he uses for "making bombs"

He points to numerous packages of fireworks on top of a speaker on top of the hutch

He points to a pop can with several shots through it & numerous shotgun shells which were sitting on the hutch

He points to a small "black treasure chest” & says it is a “good hiding place"

He points to a small bullet & references it to being his "first bullet"

He points to solar igniters, engines, batteries, clocks & pipes in a drawer

They describe clocks in the desk drawer as two "future bombs”‘

He describes “completed pipe bombs” & pulls them out from a Home Base bag in one of the desk drawers

He describes “BETA batch” pipe bombs & pulls them out from another Home Base bag in one of the desk drawers

Dylan mentions a “bunker” & attempts to video tape out the west window of Eric’s room but it is dark outside & you cannot see anything other than the glare on the window. Dylan states there is a patch of ground where it is buried under the dirt.

Dylan: "You can't see it, it's buried there. That's why it's called a bunker."

Eric states [in the bunker] there are “four mortar grenades, ten crickets, and three ALPHA’s"

During the tour of Harris’ bedroom, where outside they have buried some of their ammunition in what they call "the bunker,” the two point out semi-automatic weapons and Harris’ beloved G.I. Joe action figures.
“I’ve always loved them,” Harris says, with Klebold complaining that the manufacturer should make “at least one moveable part” in G.I. Joes.

"That’ll take out whoever can fucking get close to it,” Klebold says as he shows off a stash of three pipe bombs.

“Thank God my parents don’t search my room,” Harris responds with a laugh

Eric then points to a blue spiral notebook which he describes as his "journal"

Harris waves his journal and suggests to law enforcement officials that if they want to know what led him to plan a bloody rampage, they should simply "Read this."

They show a box of "crickets” which appear to be small CO2 cartridges

They began videotaping a dresser on the west wall of Eric’s room.

He opens up a dresser door/drawer & points out a “Hell dog drawing” which is taped to the inside of that door/drawer & mentions it was given to him years ago. Next to it is a piece of paper “Anarchist substitute ingredient list"

Eric describes a "25 pound bag of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] buckshot” which is inside that dresser but doesn’t show the bag on the video

Eric then pulls out a BB rifle box from a “hall closet” & states this is where he keeps his shotgun

Eric then pulls out a box from within his room closet & states this is his knife. He pulls it out & says he paid $15 for it. The knife is in a black sheath. He states there is a “swastika” on it. The camera zooms in where you can see what appears to be a swastika carved into the sheath

Eric- “Gotta love the Nazis.” “Nazis are so efficient.”

On the east wall of Eric’s room, adjacent to a bedroom door, they point out a coil of green wire hanging on a wall which they describe as “50 feet of cannon fuse"

They then go to a bookcase also on the east wall of Eric’s bedroom.

From there they talk about a "Demon Knight” CD & open the case, revealing a Green Mountain Guns receipt for a purchase of “nine magazines” for $15 each

Eric removes a rack of CD’s to reveal three pipe bombs which he says are the “biggest"

Eric pulls out a small black card file type box containing "29 crickets” CO2 cartridge bombs

Eric points to an unseen area that has a “coffee can in the corner which is full of gunpowder"

On the north wall floor of Eric’s bedroom is a black plastic box with "EXPLOSIVES” etched into the side of it

Dylan mentions how Eric’s parents took it away but Eric then clarifies that they only took the bomb out of it & left him with the box

Inside the box are clock parts, fuses, tools & CO2 cartridges

They also show a white plastic file case containing “nails for pipe bombs, caps to be filled with gunpowder” two boxes 50 each of 9mm bullets, 12 shotgun shells in a box, another box of shotgun shells, clips for a gun & webbing.

Eric says “What you will find on my body in April"

LATER ON "Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]"

Dylan Klebold sits in a tan La-Z-Boy recliner in Eric's basement bedroom, chewing on a toothpick while Eric Harris messes around with the now-stationary video recorder. When he's done Eric moves to sit in another recliner with the bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey, and his sawed-off shotgun named "Arlene" on his lap. He takes a small swig. The whiskey stings, but he tries to hide it. Dylan stretches and knocks over a can of Soda. Eric gets upset about it.

They quietly clean it up so Eric’s parents don’t come to see what happened.

Eric: (in reference to the Oregon and Kentucky shootings) "Do not think we're trying to copy anyone. We had the idea before the first one ever happened. Our plan is better, not like those fucks in Kentucky with camouflage and .22s. Those kids were only trying to be accepted by others."

They bragged that previous school assaults were bush league and they weren’t copy cats. "We’re the real McCoy,” said Harris, with Klebold adding, “I know we are going to have a following."

Throughout the tapes they quote sources as diverse as Shakespeare and the popular 80s teen movie “The Breakfast Club” adding profanities in.

They go on to talk about how they hate all races: "niggers, spics, Jews*, fucking whites".

They also mention enemies that abused them and friends who didn't do enough to defend them.

Dylan on blacks
“ I fucking hate niggers, They’re not as fucking smart as white people. They’re all spear-chuckers while we’re shooting guns.”

Eric on women
Eric-“Yes, moms stay home.

Eric-“Fucking make me dinner, bitch, That’s what women are supposed to fucking do.”

A couple times during the rants Dylan has to warn Eric to talk more quietly so as not to wake Eric's parents who're sleeping upstairs.

They sneer at life in the suburbs, rant obscenely at blacks and feminists and born-again Christians and jocks and people who wear Tommy Hilfiger clothes. They mimic people they think are stupid, using squeaky, funny voices and funny faces.

Eric: "We need a fucking kick start. If we have a fucking religious war - or oil - or anything. We need to get a chain reaction going here. It's gonna be like fucking Doom man - after the bombs explode. Tick, tick, tick, tick... Haa! That fucking shotgun (he kisses his gun) straight out of Doom. Go ahead and change gun laws - how do you think we got ours?"

Eric “Gosh, she’s fucking beautiful,” “This is what you fuckers are up against.”- Talking about his sawed off shotgun

Eric: "We're going to kick-start a revolution, a revolution of the dispossessed"

They discuss coming back as ghosts to haunt the survivors, to "create flashbacks from what we do and drive them insane,"

They both make Ghost sounds to imitate haunting survivors and make faces at the camera,

“I don’t give a Fuck about anybody. Otherwise I’d be more remorseful Eric tells the camera.

Dylan- “I just know I want to kill the little fuckers who fucked with me. It’s going to be like Doom, man.”, referring to his favorite video game.

Eric: "You guys will all die, and it will be fucking soon! I hope you get an idea of what we're implying here. You all need to die! We need to die, too! Of course, we’ll fucking die killing you fucking shitheads.“  We need to fucking kick-start the revolution here!"

Dylan: "The most deaths in U.S. history."

Eric: (kisses his shotgun) "Hopefully."

Dylan:I hope we kill 250 of you.

Eric: "We're hoping. We're hoping.

Dylan: It will be the most nerve-racking 15 minutes of my life, after the bombs are set and we're waiting to charge through the school. Seconds will be like hours. I can't wait. I'll be shaking like a leaf."

Eric says he plans on scalping someone

Dylan asks ”who”

Eric responds “you’ll see”

They expect to be famous, to have a cult of followers after they die. They have advice for whoever those kids might be

Dylan: “If you’re going to go fucking psycho and kill a bunch of people like us … do it right,”

Eric: "I hope people have flashbacks."

Eric: (making shooting noises while aiming his shotgun) "Isn't it fun to get the respect we're going to deserve? We don't give a shit because we're going to die doing it."

Eric and Dylan recall how it's always been: Were the geeks who always got picked on. You name the grade. How girls would never call them back. Even as a senior, a punk freshman ``ripped,'' or picked on him, Dylan Klebold recalled. The freshman didn't get in trouble; he did. It would never stop. Unless he made it stop.

“Only four or five people here didn't rip on me - four or five out of the whole state of Colorado!'' Eric Harris moaned to his pal. If he were just able to get in small fistfights, like he used to, Harris says. Now, he'd get suspended, his parents sued. Now, he says, pointing his shotgun ``Arlene'' at the screen, he has no choice.

Eric states “and If you get pissed off about it, well, go kill some people. Take out some aggression.” -to anyone angry about the Columbine attack.

It's getting late; Eric looks at his watch and says it's 1:28 AM on March 15. Dylan says people will note the date and time when watching it.

Eric says “Let’s talk about our parents for a minute."

Dylan: (predicting his parents' feelings of regret) "If only we could have reached them sooner, or found this tape."

Eric "If only we would have searched their room. If only we would have asked the right questions." (talks about his mother being thoughtful, bringing him candy and Slim Jims) "I really am sorry about all this."

Dylan: "They gave me my fucking life. It's up to me what I do with it."

Eric: (shrugs) "My parents might have made some mistakes that they weren't really aware of”, but he says that war is war" He knows what’s in store for them. “They’re going to go through hell once we’re finished. They’re never going to see the end of it."

Eric quotes the same Shakespeare line found in his day planner on the date for Mother’s Day: "Good wombs hath borne bad sons."

Dylan: (talks about how his parents taught him to be independent and self-reliant) "I appreciate that."

Dylan- “You can’t understand what we feel, no matter how much you think you can.”, to his parents.

`I didn't want to do any more bonding with them. It will be a lot easier on them if I haven't been around as much.''

Klebold addresses all his relatives. ``I'm sorry I have so much rage,'' he says.

Eric plays with a pair of scissors, rapidly snapping the blades together and apart, together and apart. They laugh at the noise. Dylan mixes candy and whiskey in his mouth.

Dylan is playing with the candy pieces. He holds up one shape.

"Hey, guys,” he says, “it’s a house.”

They talk about how this is their “little film festival” and that people will want to make movies out of it.

They talk about how they want movies to be made about their story. Eric says he wants the film to have "a lot of foreshadowing and dramatic irony". He mentions a poem he wrote where he imagined himself as a bullet.

Dylan: "Directors will be fighting over this story. I know we're gonna have followers because we're so fucking God-like. We're not exactly human -- we have human bodies but we've evolved into one step above you, fucking human shit. We actually have fucking self-awareness."

The boys speculate whether Steven Spielberg or Quentin Tarantino should direct the film.

Eric says he wants Tarantino because Spielberg would “Fuck it up” with family friendly bullshit.

March 18, 1999

The tape is started.

The tape ends.

*Late March

Eric & Dylan record the second Tape. This Tape would later be titled as evidence "Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]" in JCSO's investigation. Officer Zimmerman noted the 8mm tape had a handwritten label, "Top Secret Rampart".

The tape begins.

Eric is video taping Dylan.

On the floor are laid out numerous pipe bombs:

Three are the "CHARLIE Batch” & they are two inches in diameter & six inches in length

Six appear to be about one inch in diameter & about six inches in length

Twelve appear to be about one & one half inches in diameter & about six inches in length.

All of these pipe bombs are wrapped in duct tape

Also on the floor is a sawed off shotgun which Eric refers to as “Arlene"

While Eric is video taping the shotgun, it appears that "Arlene” is etched into the side of the gun.

Also on the floor is a black long gun which Eric refers to as a carbine

Thirteen clips are observed on the floor

Eric says that they [9] were from Green Mountain Guns & “Yes they did have the right number"

Also on the floor are two boxes of what appear to be 9mm bullets

Eric points out "my bandolier of stuff, & states it will be filled with "napalm"

Also on the floor is a black plastic box which is filled with duct taped items Eric describes as twenty nine "crickets” & states they are his grenades

Eric then gives the camera to Dylan who films Eric holding some of the guns

The tape is shut off …
The tape is started …

Eric is wearing black BDU’s, no shirt & a web type harness, carrying the 9mm carbine attached to a sling, holding the shotgun

At one point Eric places the shotgun into one of the cargo pockets, & then with a web strap secures it so that it is at his side

Dylan comments about Eric as a “soon to be eighteen year old” [Eric’s bday is April 9]

At one point Dylan refers to “my Tec” & states he wants to do something with it “this weekend, maybe tomorrow"

At the same time Dylan says,  “but my parents are going to fucking Passover” [Passover is April 1]

Eric then looks at Dylan with a startled look and says ”You're Jewish”

Dylan says “Yeah, Like ½ or ¼”

Eric looks at him and says” Oh, sorry man, that’s too bad.

Dylan moves from filming Eric in the lower level family room to the inside of Eric’s bedroom

The tape is shut off …
The tape is started … April 6th

Eric is driving alone with the camera recording him from the dashboard

It is dark outside & there are raindrops on the window of the car.

At one point you see a street sign that says "Federal"

There is music playing in the car which is fairly loud

Eric mentions "the BlackJack crew” “Jason” [Jason Secore 9-29-72] & “Chris” [Christopher Richard Morris 6-9-81] Eric says “you guys are very cool ” “Sorry dudes I had to do what I had to do"

Eric also mentions "Angel” [Angel Pytlinski] “Phil” [Philip Joseph Duran 11-28-76] & “Bob” [Robert “Bob” Hossein Kirgis 5-24-70] “Bob is one of the coolest guys I’ve ever met in my life, except for being an alcoholic.” Eric says he’s going to miss Bob

Eric states “It is a weird feeling knowing you’re going to be dead in 2 weeks"

Eric mentions not being able to decide "if we should do it before or after prom"

Eric says he wished he could have revisited Michigan & "old friends"

At this point he becomes silent & starts crying & wipes a tear from the left side of his face

The tape is shut off …

April 11, 1999

Eric & Dylan record the Third Tape. This Tape would be later be titled as evidence "Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]" in JCSO's investigation. Also known as "Reb's Tape".

April 11th …

During daylight hours, Eric is driving & Dylan is in the passenger seat They state “We are on our way to get the rest of our gear"

They mention that it is now "Monday, April 11th"

Dylan says he has ”$200 dollars on him"

Eric says that he is going to “cash a check for $50"

Dylan mentions that they have been "planning this for over eight months"

Eric says "At least"

They pass the intersection of "Sante Fe & Mineral"

The tape is shut off …
The tape is started …

During daylight hours, Eric is driving & Dylan is in the passenger seat

They are stopped at a stop light or stop sign on the east side of Broadway north of Hampden

Eric is smoking a large cigar & states it is his "birthday cigar"

They say they have just purchased two rather large fuel containers & three propane bottles & Dylan also got his pants/BDU’s [Army Navy - Coleman Fuel/Propane/CO2/BDU’s]

The tape is shut off …
The tape is started … April 12th 17 minutes long

Eric is alone with the video camera resting either on his knee or something else & filming directly at his face

Behind him is a headboard & behind the headboard is a bulletin board

"This is for Mom and Dad and for the cops or the people who somehow want to have them pay for what I did," he says,

Eric says ” To any of you cops out there, don’t make my parents pay. They are the best fucking parents he’s ever known. It would not solve anything to arrest them. My dad is great. I wish I was a fucking sociopath so I didn't have any remorse, but I do. This is going to tear them apart. They will never forget it." He then addresses his parents directly, if briefly: "There is nothing you guys could have done to prevent any of this. There is nothing that anyone could have done to prevent this. No one is to blame except me and Vodka. Our actions are a two man war against everyone else.“I declared war on the human race and war is what it is.

Eric then states it’s been "hard” on him recently

He mentions that his parents have been on his “back for putting things off such as "insurance & the Marine Corp"

But they don’t know none of this matters to me.

Eric- "It's kinda hard on me, these last few days. This is my last week on Earth and they don't know.

He says "to you Coolios out there still alive, sorry I hurt you or your friends"

He says "To all the fuckheads out there: get busy. The apocalypse is coming and it’s starting in eight days,” Harris says during a close-up. “Oh yeah,” Harris says, licking his lips, “It’s comin’, all right."

He mentions that this is total "KMFDM"

Eric states "there are 7 and 1/3 days left"

Eric then gets an odd look on his face and says "Fucking bitches"

He mentions five names: ”? full name” [female 4-25-81 Aurora]

“?” [Megan] [Megan Steckly Grade 9 - Jeffco not 100% sure of this Lead]

“?” [Karen] [Karen Ann Schott 10-13-80]

“?” [Tanya] [Tanya Worlock 9-29-82]

“?” [Unknown]

Eric-You know who you are. Thanks. You made me feel good. Think about that for a while, fucking bitches.”, after listing five girls who never even called me back.

"Oh, God," he says, "this came up so quickly. It's pretty weird knowing that you're going to die."

He talks about the work he still has to do in his and Klebold's "two-man war against everyone else."

He says he’s going to be “one tired mother fucker come Monday then Boom! I’ll get shot & die"

Eric then goes on to film his planning book/notebook & describes it as the “book of god"

He says that his beliefs have changed somewhat during the year, over the course of time he has been writing

One of the first pages lists perhaps a dozen Columbine students from the class of 1998 that Harris says he would have liked to kill.

On another page, Harris lists some kids who apparently were intended victims
Page labeled as “Should have died first”

-- "Scoop," "Pretty Boy," and "The Man in the Yellow Hat."

"You're lucky you got out when you did," he says.

He turns to the page [026022] of figurines drawn with ammo, bombs & guns

He states that it is the "drawing of gear, back when we thought we could get calico’s"

He points to a picture with a backpack labeled "napalm” He says this is the “suicide plan"

He turns to the page [026023] of the inventories of the bombs

He points to the top of the page & states that these are how many bullets they’re going to have
He points to [026026-026027] some drawings in the back stating they are "DOOM drawings"

He points to page [026028] of different types of weapons & states that these are "plans for rocket launchers & such. Most will not see the new world"

He points to page [026029] of more"DOOM drawings” with a “KMFDM twist to them”

He Shows a page that is labelled “Have.Need” listing various items

Eric says- “Somehow, I’ll publish these. This is the thought process, the evolution I’ve gone through for the past year.”

On the bottom of one page, Harris draws a swastika and a "SS," a possible reference to Hitler's secret police.

The last entry was made on April 3.

Then the journal tediously lists details about the weapons and bombs amassed by Harris and Klebold -- the number of bullets, the weight of explosives. One section describes six batches of pipe bombs that Harris calls by the military nicknames "Alpha," "Beta," "Charlie," "Delta," "Echo" and "Foxtrot."

He details their tests on home-made napalm, a jellied form of gasoline, and plans for rocket launchers.

Harris includes several drawings from Doom, his favorite video game, and diagrams for the way he and Klebold planned to carry their gear.

Tape Cuts then plays radioactive clothing

April 17, 1999

"Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]"

The Tape cuts to...

Eric is filming Dylan in Dylan’s bedroom at 9351 Cougar Road

He attaches black suspenders to his pants & also attaches a tan ammo type pouch to his belt or suspenders & a green canvas pouch to his right shin

Dylan Picks up Eric’s Shotgun while he is filming and points it to the camera

Eric says “Holy Shit that’s Scary”

Dylan proceeds to pump the shotgun laughing while pointing it at the camera

Eric screams “Jesus christ put the fucking safety on.”

Dylan laughs and puts “arlene” on the floor

Eric Laughs “I would’ve never gotten a date for prom if he had no fucking jaw”

He then removes some items from an open small suitcase/hard sided briefcase on the floor

He takes a sawed off shotgun & places it into a cargo pocket on his pants & then attaches it with webbing so that it stays in place

He has the Tec 9 on a sling over his shoulder

He comments about his “50 round clip"

Dylan-“He doesn’t deserve the jaw evolution gave him .”

Dylan mentions “Robyn” [Robyn Kay Anderson 11-4-80] & going to prom with her

"Robyn," Klebold says, addressing his prom date and gun buyer Robyn Anderson, "I didn't really want to go to prom. But since I'm going to be dying, I thought I might do something cool." Also my parents are paying for it.

Eric comments about having three bags to use

They talk about wanting to “practice” the next couple of nights

Eric mentions that they got “lasers and more propane today"

“That is cool, dude. Every faggot’s last sight.” - Klebold , as Harris sights a gun’s laser light on him.

Dylan puts on his long black trench coat & says "I’m fat on this side” & talks about how he looks “fucking fat with all this stuff on"

Dylan tries to toss the Tec 9 into his hand from the position where it was hanging on the sling. The coat prohibited him from doing that

Dylan practiced drawing a shotgun from inside a black trench coat. Eric told him he had to do it faster.

Dylan then says "I’ll have to take the coat off"

He begins complaining about how he doesn’t want to take his coat off & states he likes his coat
saying “It’s long. It keeps the elements off.”

They state that the "fucking snow is gay” relating to the weather outside

They “hope the shit clears out by Tuesday, actually Sunday"

Eric says he "needs dry weather for my fires".

The tape is shut off …
The tape is started …

April 20, 1999 (1 minute & 20 seconds in length)

Dylan is wearing a black hat backwards with a "B” outlined in white on the back of the hat.

He is wearing a plaid shirt untucked, which is either black or dark blue with white

He is wearing black BDU type pants tucked into military style lace-up boots

Eric is wearing a plaid shirt which appears to be black or dark blue with white

There is a white t-shirt under the plaid shirt

The lower portion of Harris body is not visible

On the floor are several bags

One appears to be a large maroon bag

Eric is filming Dylan in the family room on the main level of Eric’s house

Eric says “Say it now"

Dylan says "Hey mom. Gotta go. It’s about half an hour before our little judgement day. I just wanted to apologize to you guys for any crap this might instigate as far as [inaudible] or something. Just know I’m going to a better place than here. I didn’t like life too much & I know I’ll be happier wherever the fuck I go. So I’m gone. Good-bye ``''Reb …"

Dylan takes the camera & starts filming Eric

Eric says "Yeah … Everyone I love I’m really sorry about all this. I know my mom & dad will be just like just fucking shocked beyond belief. I’m sorry alright. I can’t help it"

Dylan interjects "We did what we had to do"

Eric then says "Morris, Nate, if you guys live I want you guys to have whatever you want from my room & the computer room"

Dylan states they can also have his possessions

Eric then says "Susan sorry. Under different circumstances it would’ve been a lot different.

I want you to have that fly cd"

Eric: (eventually) "That's it. Sorry. Goodbye."

Dylan: (sticks his face in the camera) "Goodbye."

The tape ends with a brief glimpse of a sign on the wall of Eric's bedroom, someone's arm partially blocking it from sight. It's the letters: CHS along with a drawing of a bomb with a lit fuse and, in bold black letters, the word "clue".

C. Who has seen the Tapes?

This section will have three subsections; (1) Official Investigators, (2) The Public and (3) The Media.

(1) Official Investigators.

JSCO Sheriff Ted Mink. JCSO Officer Zimmerman. FBI Agent Kate Battan. FBI Agent John Elvig. FBI Agent Jeff Diehl. Dr. Peter Langman.

(2) The Public.

The Tapes were only shown to members of the public once on December 12, 1999 at the Jefferson County Vital Records Office, "Dakota Building".

Link: [You must be [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to see this image.]

(3) The Media.

Members of the Media were shown the Tapes on December 13, 1999 at the "Dakota Building".

Randy and Judy Brown were also in attendance at this screening.

Part II: What Leaks We Have.

A. "What Would Jesus Do? What Would I Do?" Audio Leak

This is the most infamous leak of the Tapes.

The leak comes from "Item 265" recorded on March 15, 2019 in the Harris' Basement Living Room at 8276 S Reed St, Littleton, CO 80128.

It was released by Darell Scott on December 20, 1999 during a conference. (If anyone knows where to find the full video of this conference, post it in the comments!)

Scott recorded this section of the Tapes during the December 12, 1999 screening for the families of the victims.

Link:

Eric: "Those two girls sitting next to you probably want you to shut the fuck up too".

Dylan: "Jesus, you're on a roll".

Eric: "Rachel and Jen and whatever the fuck the girl..."

Dylan: "I don't like you, you fucking ungrateful shit. You're stuck up little bitches. You're fucking little Christian godly little whores".

Eric: "Yeah 'I love Jesus' shut the fuck up.

Dylan: "What would Jesus do? What would I do?"

Eric: "I would shoot you in your little pussy head. Go Romans! Thank God they fucking crucified that asshole".

*In all likelihood, Scott has or had the full audio recording of the Tapes. Unless he somehow knew exactly when Eric & Dylan would mention a "Rachel" in the Tapes, it only makes sense he recorded the entire screening and would go over them later.

B. "Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]", or "Reb's Tape", Leak

This "leak" is unsubstantiated. However, those familiar with Tapes discussions on this site will likely know what I'm talking about.

This leak purportedly shows a snippet of "Reb"s Tape". The clip briefly shows a car windshield before being cut off. Presumably, the clip was recorded on April 11, 1999 when Eric & Dylan were driving to "get the rest of [their] gear".

A number of you have claimed that this clip follows the end of "Rampart Range".

Hardly a leak. However, beggars can't be choosers.

Link:

C. Rampart Range Screen Leak

This "leak" is also unsubstantiated. This screenshot is from the one hour, thirty six minutes, and twenty-six second tapes that JSCO released on October 21, 2003 and on February 26, 2004.

After "Rampart Range" ends the officer is looking through folders on the screen for the next video "Breakfast Run".

As the officer navigates to "Breakfast Run" there are a number of video thumbnails visible, but almost all are either black or unrecognizable. Except for this one.

Link:

Part III: What We Don't Know.

A. Destruction of the Tapes

For one, how were the Tapes, along with the rest of the evidence destroyed?

Would JCSO be required to maintain records related to the destruction of evidence?

Even if the 8mm originals were destroyed, does that include copies that were potentially digitized or converted into DVDs?

B. The FBI

So, JCSO's position is that it destroyed the Tapes in early 2011. What about the FBI's copies?

Has anyone submitted a FOIA request for them? If so, what was the result?

C. Audio copies.

Does anyone have any information related to Darrel Scott's audio recording of the Dec. 12, 1999 screening?

Monday, March 15, 1999 - 1:28 a.m. (Mountain time)

Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold are sitting in the Harris home basement-level family room. Eric is sitting on the couch and Dylan's sitting in a chair nearby. They're drinking from a Jack Daniels bottle, which Eric points out. The boys begin to discuss a number of topics; they speak of their hope that the videos they're making will one day be shown all over the world, when their "masterpiece" is done and everyone wants to know why they did it.

Dylan: "I'd like to make a thank you to Mark John Doe and Phil John Doe. I hope you don't get fucked." (Eric laughs. Dylan continues.) "We used them. They had no clue... Don't blame them. And don't fucking arrest them. Don't arrest any of our friends, or family members or our co-workers. They had no fucking clue. Don't arrest anyone, because they didn't have a fucking clue. If it hadn't been them, it would've been someone else over 21."

They mention the time a clerk from Green Mountain Guns called Eric's home. Eric's dad, Wayne Harris, answered the phone.

When the clerk told him "Hey, your clips are in." Wayne - who owned guns himself - told the clerk he hadn't ordered any clips. Eric said his father never asked whether the caller even had the right phone number. Eric says if etiher the clerk or his father had asked just one question, "we would have been fucked.".

Dylan: "We wouldn't be able to do what we're going to do."

They then talk about Brandon Larson and how "you will find his body". The boys talk about the large propane bombs they plan to use on the unsuspecting students in the school cafeteria. They discuss bombs and two bags of "propane and napalm", and mention Mr. Stevens and the shotgun.

"We're proving ourselves," they tell the camera and go on to discuss their philosphies. Eric says he isn't spending much time with his family, so that there won't be any "bonding" and "this won't be harder to do".

Eric: "I'm sorry I have so much rage, but you put it on me."

Eric then complains about his father and how his family had to move five times. He says he always had to be the new kid in school, and was always at the bottom of the "food chain", and had no chance to earn any respect from his peers as he always had to "start out at the bottom of the ladder". He hated the way people made fun of him: "my face, my hair, my shirts." He's wearing a t-shirt that has the words "Wilder Wein" printed on it -- he references the shirt several times during the video but never explains what it means. [Wilder Wein is a song written by Rammstein.]

Eric: "More rage. More rage." (motions with his hands for emphasis) "Keep building it on."

Dylan says that as far back as the Foothills Day Care center he hated the "stuck-up" kids who he felt hated him. "Being shy didn't help. I'm going to kill you all. You've been giving us shit for years."

Dylan: "Fuck you Walsh."

The boys go on to discuss Walsh patrolling Deer Creek (Deputy Tim Walsh primarly works the south end of Jefferson County). The teens then talk about how there's "a month and a half left". They mention Green Mountain Guns again and how they phoned the house, leaving a message on the answering machine: "Your clips are in".

Dylan and Eric brag about hiding their tools of death -- and about the close calls along the way. Eric shows the camera a black tackle box with his bomb-making equipment stowed inside. They boast about concocting their plan under the noses of unsuspecting parents and friends.

Dylan recalls a time when his parents walked into his bedroom while he was trying on his trenchcoat to see if it would hide his sawed-off shotgun. "They didn't even know it was there."

I can make you believe anything."

The subject shifts and they begin talking about several people they know. They make a comment about Dustin Harris (or Harrison), and how "everything you say is pointless."

Eric: "Shut the fuck up, Nick, you laugh too much! And those two girls sitting next to you, they probably want you to shut the fuck up, too! Jesus! Rachel and Jen.. and.. whatever."

Dylan: "I don't like you, Rachel and Jen, you're stuck up little bitches, you're fucking little.. Christian, Godly little whores!"
[Hear this and the line above]

Eric: "Yeah.. 'I love Jesus! I love Jesus!' -- shut the fuck up!"

Dylan: "What would Jesus do? What the fuck would I do..?" (he acts like he's shooting the camera with his hand, with sound to accompany it)

Eric: "I would shoot you in the motherfucking head! Go Romans! Thank God they crucified that asshole."
[Hear the above 3 lines]

Eric and Dylan: "Go Romans!" "Go Romans!!" "Yeah!!" "Wooo!"

Eric discusses "Arlene", his 12-gauge Savage shotgun. "Thanks to the gun show, and to Robyn. Robyn is very cool."

The boys then decide to take a video tour of "Reb's room" and "all the illegal shit" in it. Dylan backs out of the room with the camera and pretends to be Eric's mother.

Eric: (waves at the camera) "Hi, mom."

Taping Eric Harris's bedroom, they record a desk with a hutch, where Eric points out a pair of gloves which he says he took from a doctor's office and uses for making bombs. He points out several packages of fireworks on top of a speaker, which is also on top of the hutch. He also calls attention to a soda can with several shots through it, along with quite a few shotgun shells sitting atop the hutch. He then points out a small "black treasure chest" that he calls a "good hiding place".

Eric then points out a small bullet that he says is his "first bullet", then in a drawer he shows off a stash of solar igniters, batteries, pipes, clocks, and engines. He pulls out a black two-bell alarm clock that he discusses using to build a bomb with and then takes out what he describes as "completed pipe bombs" from a Home Base bag taken from one of the desk drawers. He pulls out another Home Base bag filled with more pipe bombs he calls the "Beta batch", at which point Dylan mentions the "bunker". Dylan tries to film out the west window but it's too dark outside; all that records is the glare on the window.

Dylan: "You can't see it, it's buried there. That's why it's called a bunker."

Eric says there are "four mortar grenades, ten crickets, and three Alfa's." He then points out a blue spiral notebook that he calls his "journal".

Eric points out a blue spiral notebook that he calls his "journal". Eric opens another drawer, revealing a piece of the handle of one of their sawed-off shotguns. Also filmed in one of the drawers are two clocks which the boys describe as "future bombs". They show off a box of "crickets" -- small CO2 cartridges, duct taped with fuses.

Dylan turns the video camera toward the dresser that's against the west wall. Eric opens up a door and points out a "Hell dog drawing" taped to the inside of the door. He says it was given to him years ago. Next to it is a piece of paper on which is written an "Anarchist substitute ingredient list".

Eric goes on to describe a "25 pound bag of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] buckshot" which is inside the dresser, but isn't shown on the tape. Eric then pulls out a BB rifle from what he describes as the hall closet (though it appears, on the tape, to be a closet in his room). He says this is where he keeps his shotgun. He also takes a box out of the closet and tells the camera that this is is his knife. From the box he pulls out a black-handled combat knife in a black sheath. He says that he paid $15 for it. Eric says there's a Swastika on the side and the camera zooms in to show the Swastika etched into the sheath.

On the east wall, adjacent to the bedroom door, the teens point out a coil of green wire that they call a "50 foot cannon fuse". They move to the bookcase on the east wall, talking about a "Demon Knight" CD case, which Eric opens to reveal a receipt from Green Mountain Guns for "nine magazines" of 9mm carbine rifle bullets that they purchased for $15 each. Eric then removes a CD rack to expose three large pipe bombs hidden behind it, which he calls the "biggest".

Eric then pulls out a black card box filled with "29 crickets" (more CO2 cartridge bombs). Eric then points to an area of the room (though the camera doesn't follow where he points) and describes a "coffee can in the corner which is full of gunpowder". The camera then focuses in on a black plastic box with the word "explosives" scratched into the side, sitting near the north wall of Eric's bedroom on the floor. Dylan mentions how Eric's parents took it away from him. Eric adds that they only took the pipe bomb out of it, and gave the box back. Inside the box the camera shows clock parts, fuses, tools, and CO2 cartridges.

They also tape a white plastic file case that holds "nails for pipe bombs, caps to be filled with gunpowder", two boxes of 9mm rounds (50 bullets in each), 12 shotgun shells in a box, another box of shotgun shells, clips for a gun, and webbing. "What you will find on my body in April," Eric tells the camera.

Later footage:

Dylan Klebold sits in a tan La-Z-Boy recliner in Eric's basement bedroom, chewing on a toothpick while Eric Harris messes around with the now-stationary video recorder. When he's done Eric moves to sit in another recliner with the bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey, and his sawed-off shotgun named "Arlene" on his lap. He takes a small drink and tries not to wince at the taste.

Eric: (in reference to the Oregon and Kentucky shootings) "Do not think we're trying to copy anyone. We had the idea before the first one ever happened. Our plan is better, not like those fucks in Kentucky with camouflage and .22s. Those kids were only trying to be accepted by others."

They go on to talk about how they hate all races: "niggers, spics, Jews*, fucking whites". They also mention enemies that abused them and friends who didn't do enough to defend them.
* [Dylan's family was Jewish.]

In one segment, Eric and Dylan spend more than an hour discussing their hatred for humanity and their fellow students, whom they vowed to kill. They name some of the classmates they hope to murder [It's unknown whether any of those students were killed or wounded during the assault].

A couple times during the rants Dylan has to warn Eric to talk more quietly so as not to wake Eric's parents who're sleeping upstairs.

The boys talk about starting a revolution of the dispossessed.

Eric: "We're going to kick-start a revolution."

The teens discuss coming back as ghosts to haunt the survivors, to "create flashbacks from what we do and drive them insane," Eric tells the camera.

Eric: "You guys will all die, and it will be fucking soon! I hope you get an idea of what we're implying here. You all need to die! We need to die, too! We need to fucking kick-start the revolution here!"

Dylan: "The most deaths in U.S. history."

Eric: (kisses his shotgun) "Hopefully."

Dylan: "We're hoping. We're hoping. I hope we kill 250 of you. It will be the most nerve-racking 15 minutes of my life, after the bombs are set and we're waiting to charge through the school. Seconds will be like hours. I can't wait. I'll be shaking like a leaf."

Eric: "I hope people have flashbacks."

Eric: (making shooting noises while aiming his shotgun) "Isn't it fun to get the respect we're going to deserve? We don't give a shit because we're going to die doing it."

It's getting late; Eric looks at his watch and says it's 1:28 AM on March 15. Dylan says people will note the date and time when watching it.

Eric: (shrugs) "My parents might have made some mistakes that they weren't really aware of."

Dylan: (talks about how his parents taught him to be independent and self-reliant) "I appreciate that."

From earlier in the week:

Monday, March 15, 1999

* [Dylan's family was Jewish.]

Eric: (shrugs) "My parents might have made some mistakes that they weren't really aware of."

Dylan: (talks about how his parents taught him to be independent and self-reliant) "I appreciate that."

Ah, yes! I remember now. Nate went to prom with her I think? Maybe no one wanted to go to prom with Eric because if they didn't have fun they were afraid they'd get their house toilet papered or something. Little did they know it would have been the least of their worries.

8. Redacted bumped into me, apologized but the ass hole should have seen me.
9. Redacted asked her out, said she didn't like Outback, I can't go out with someone that stupid.

Funny you mention [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] there. There was a student that bumped into Eric (and was actually Eric's fault) and the student apologized and Eric bit his head off. So This did happen lol

No prob! Yeah at the time I was looking through the reports pretty much 24/7 to cross reference all the info, so I don't remember where the reference was. And it's entirely possible that I was mistaken. It's happened before. I've read reports and documented information, and then a few years later found information that contradicted it - and then researched again and found that I had inaccurately documented or completely missed something important. It sucks when that happens but it does.

OK now I am remembering something that might help you a bit now that I am thinking about this.

Part of what made me believe there are photos of Dylan on Eric's knee has to do with the fact that the leaked crime scene photos are not from the initial walk through. They are photos that do not match the initial sketches.

They don't match because in the sketches, the clip is attached to Dylan's gun. And the photos don't seem to show the clip in Dylan's TEC-DC9M. If the clip was in the gun, it would be visible. I created an overlay in Photoshop using proportions to the best of my ability and a clip the size of what he was using according to what was found in evidence would have stuck out well beyond his leg.

And yet the crime scene diagrams clearly state with drawings and notes that the TEC-DC9M was found WITH the clip in tact (and a live round in the chamber).

Which means... the leaked crime scene photos were taken after the clip was removed.

We don't know why it was removed or who removed it. We just know that it was removed at some point AFTER the initial walk through. Because the initial diagrams show the clip in the gun. So clearly, law enforcement removed it before taking those pics.

See, because the diagrams are the first thing (usually) to occur during an investigation during the initial walk through. Then photographs are taken. Nothing is moved (at first). Once photos are taken initially, THEN evidence can be moved to photograph things like pocket contents, bag contents, or to get a better angle of something.

So since the initial diagrams show the clip in the gun, and the photos show the clip missing it would appear that the leaked photos were taken after the initial round of photos. Which means there's another set of photos that came before it. And since it's absolutely clear that Dylan landed face first on Eric's knee when he died (I did a report in this in my criminal justice class in college and my teacher - a retired CSI - was shocked and said the analysis was spot on) it makes me wonder at what point did someone remove the clip. It had to have been removed AFTER the initial walk through.

But the diagrams show Dylan on his back. So maybe there are no photos of him on Eric's knee. But something about all that research and information sent me on a trail looking for evidence of photos that came prior to the leaked photos because I know for certain those are not from the initial walk through. Not that anything was illegally moved. It's perfectly normal to move bodies and items once the initial photos are taken and the scene is diagramed. I was looking for context so I could figure out which photos the leaked photos were, and in what context they were created.

That's all I can remember at this point. I chased so many trails...

On the morning of Wednesday, April 21st, various team members were involved with either recording information and checking vehicles in the school parking lots for possible explosive devices or participating in searching the grounds and Pierce Street for possible evidence. After an assessment of the scenes by members of the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office (JCSO) and Jefferson County Coroner’s Office (JCCO), Chris Andrist conducted a preliminary walk through for, and overall documentation by, Tom Adair (Arapahoe County SO) and Bob Lloyd (Thornton PD) for videotaping and Chris Loptien (JCSO) and Griffin (CBI) for photography. These individuals entered the school at approximately 10 a.m. and began the documentation at approximately 10:50 a.m. completing it at approximately 12 p.m. Andrist identified the team assignments outside of the school and team members then met to ensure a standard approach to all of the scenes. Each of the teams was led through the various scenes in the school to help in the assessment of evidence. Team Two entered the building at approximately 1:54 p.m.

At approximately 1:39 p.m., April 21, 1999, members of Team One were escorted through the crime scene portion of the school for orientation purposes. At approximately 2:05 p.m., team members initiated processing of the school library.

Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] 8mm Tape (~ 2 hours long)

March 15th ... Over an hour long

Eric & Dylan are in the basement family room at Eric's residence at 8276 South Reed Street

Eric is sitting on a couch & Dylan is sitting on an adjacent chair

Most of the tape is taken from this position while they discuss a number of different topics

They say "Thanks to Mark John Doe & Phil John Doe" [Mark Edward Manes 3-25-77 & Philip Joseph Duran 11-28-76] "We used them, they had no clue. If it hadn't been them it would have been someone else over 21"

They mention Green Mountain Guns' message on Eric's answering machine "Your clips are in"
They laugh about it & discuss it as almost having ruined their plan.

They talk about Brandon Larson [Brandon E Larson Grade 10] stating "You will find his body"

They discuss bombs & reference "two bags" of "propane and napalm" sitting quietly

They discuss the shotgun & "Mr Stevens" [Mark C Stevens 11-11-58 Tanner Gun Show]

They say "We're proving ourselves" They go on to discuss philosophies

Eric states that he is not spending time with his family so there won't be any "bonding" & "this won't be harder to do"
Eric states "I'm sorry I have so much rage but you put it on me"
Eric goes on to complain about his father & the fact that they had to move five times & that he was always the new kid in school & always at the bottom of the "food chain" & had no chance to earn any respect

Eric is wearing a black t-shirt with "Wilder Wein" [Rammstein song means Wild Wine] on the front. Eric references his shirt several times but does not explain what it means

Dylan says "Fuck you Walsh" They reference "Walsh" patrolling in Deer Creek
[Deputy Tim S Walsh JCSO]

At one point they make some comments about there being a "month and a half left"

They again reference Green Mountain Guns & the message on the machine "your clips are in"

Eric talks about one of the times they went shooting in the mountains
He says his shotgun was in his "terrorist bag sticking out"
He said he walked by his mother but she only thought it was his pellet gun

They go on to discuss several individuals
They refer to "Dustin Harrison" [Dustin Luke Harrison 5-2-80] that "everything you say is pointless"
They refer to "Nick" [Nicholas Justin Foss 5-5-80 or Nicholas J Baumgart 5-14-81] that "he laughs too much"
Eric refers to "Rachel & Jen" [Rachel Katherine Baker 11-11-80 & Jennifer Kristen Grant 3-23-81" as "Christianic bitches" & "shooting them in the head"

Eric discusses "Arlene" & about it being a 12 gauge Savage shotgun

They say "Thank's to the gun show & to Robyn" "Robyn is very cool" [Robyn Kay Anderson 11-4-80]

They then decide to video tape a tour of "Reb's room" & all the "illegal shit"

During the time that they have been sitting on the couch & the chair they were drinking from a Jack Daniel's whiskey bottle. Eric mentions that he has the whiskey bottle

They stand up from where they had been sitting & take the camera & begin videotaping Eric's lower level bedroom

They began videotaping a desk with a hutch in Eric's bedroom
Eric points out a pair of gloves he took from a doctor's office which he uses for "making bombs"
He points to numerous packages of fireworks on top of a speaker on top of the hutch
He points to a pop can with several shots through it & numerous shotgun shells which were sitting on the hutch
He points to a small "black treasure chest" & says it is a "good hiding place"
He points to a small bullet & references it to being his "first bullet"
He points to solar igniters, engines, batteries, clocks & pipes in a drawer
They describe clocks in the desk drawer as two "future bombs"'
He describes "completed pipe bombs" & pulls them out from a Home Base bag in one of the desk drawers
He describes "BETA batch" pipe bombs & pulls them out from another Home Base bag in one of the desk drawers

Dylan mentions a "bunker" & attempts to video tape out the west window of Eric's room but it is dark outside & you cannot see anything other than the glare on the window. Dylan states there is a patch of ground where it is buried under the dirt. Eric states [in the bunker] there are "four mortar grenades, ten crickets, and three ALPHA's"

Eric then points to a blue spiral notebook which he describes as his "journal"

They show a box of "crickets" which appear to be small CO2 cartridges

They began video taping a dresser on the west wall of Eric's room.
He opens up a dresser door/drawer & points out a "Hell dog drawing" which is taped to the inside of that door/drawer & mentions it was given to him years ago. Next to it is a piece of paper "Anarchist substitute ingredient list"
Eric describes a "25 pound bag of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] buckshot" which is inside that dresser but doesn't show the bag on the video

Eric then pulls out a BB rifle box from a "hall closet" & states this is where he keeps his shotgun

Eric then pulls out a box from within his room closet & states this is his knife. He pulls it out & says he paid $15 for it. The knife is in a black sheath. He states there is a "swastika" on it. The camera zooms in where you can see what appears to be a swastika carved into the sheath

On the east wall of Eric's room, adjacent to a bedroom door, they point out a coil of green wire hanging on a wall which they describe as "50 feet of cannon fuse"

They then go to a book case also on the east wall of Eric's bedroom.
From there they talk about a "Demon Knight" CD & open the case, revealing a Green Mountain Guns receipt for a purchase of "nine magazines" for $15 each
Eric removes a rack of CD's to reveal three pipe bombs which he says are the "biggest"
Eric pulls out a small black card file type box containing "29 crickets" CO2 cartridge bombs

Eric points to an unseen area that has a "coffee can in the corner which is full of gun powder"

On the north wall floor of Eric's bedroom is a black plastic box with "EXPLOSIVES" etched into the side of it
Dylan mentions how Eric's parents took it away but Eric then clarifies that they only took the bomb out of it & left him with the box
Inside the box are clock parts, fuses, tools & CO2 cartridges

They also show a white plastic file case containing "nails for pipe bombs, caps to be filled with gun powder" two boxes 50 each of 9mm bullets, 12 shotgun shells in a box, another box of shotgun shells, clips for a gun & webbing.

Eric says "What you will find on my body in April"

The tape is shut off ... @ 1:28am March 15th

The tape is started ... March 18th

People think Eric was the more "psychopathic" killer but it was simply because he was conscious enough to send more rounds down range.  It's not like Eric was a proficient shooter.  Reasons being that his carbine would likely have been better at a longer range than Dylan's jam-o-matic Tec 9 to begin with.  Neither had the experience or range time to truly assess who was better at shooting.  I can't remember but i think Dylan ended up favoring his DB shotgun and eric his carbine.  I'll be fair I don't know what type of shell was used for their shotguns.  Slugs?  Buck?  Game/target load?  So many factors go into shooting, especially up close.

If it were me, I would have favored the game/target load.  Slugs seems to kick less than buck (some would disagree) but my experience varies which would wear one down after several shots.  Target/game would have been advantageous at a closer ranger due to the spread and less of the kick (less kick of the gun attrition).
The nines (both Dylan and Eric had nine parabellum) would have come down to a "hand gun vs a long rifle/carbine".  Personally I am not as proficient with a hand gun as I am with a rifle and that might contribute to Erics higher kill count.

Although one had to administer the fatal shot but if both took shots at the same target it would come down to placement and or ballistic of the gun.

There was no point to the emts taking them to the hospital at that point. For anyone who wants to read the post, it is under the title :  only a doctor can declrare you dead. The main jist is that in mass casulaty situations EMTS can presume someone dead and a doctor will make the offical declaration later. In the case of room {#}8{/#} the crime scene had already been disturbed by the EMTS they had on scene checking for vital signs. They only found one boy alive, and the rest were black taged. They could have made the decision to try and take the dead to the hospital anyway, but that would have distrubed the crime scene even more. I guess one way to look at it is that instead of a mass casualty situation they had a mass fatality situation.

The "rest were black tags" is a decision made long, long after the point at which NPD first found the victims, at which point it was NPD's immediate responsibility to notify dispatch this was an MCI. There is no protocol short of 100% decapitation or rigor mortis of every known victim which calls for not bothering to notify dispatch. Also, by NPD's own radioed statements, they felt another shooter was still on the loose, AND they hadn't even begun to clear all the rooms yet. They had literally zero idea  how many more wounded they would discover. Even if 100% of the victims in Rooms 10 and 8 had been decapitated--they were not--it was absolutely NPD's job to inform dispatch that this was an active shooter situation with multiple existing casualties and multiple casualties likely yet to occur.

Regarding the black tags, it is more accurate to say they eventually became black tags, rather than they were black tags at 9:49 a.m. (they were not at that point). In surgeon William Billups' words, "Most of those children did not have wounds that were immediately lethal."

By this date in 1999, the boys had already made some of the basement tapes.

Monday, March 15, 1999

* [Dylan's family was Jewish.]

Eric: (shrugs) "My parents might have made some mistakes that they weren't really aware of."

Dylan: (talks about how his parents taught him to be independent and self-reliant) "I appreciate that."

Thursday, March 18, 1999

The tape starts again and Eric and Dylan are once again in the Harris family living room. They state that it is March 18th, "in the middle of the night". They talk about "Echo and Delta" pipe bombs and whether or not they should put nails on them. They state that "religions are gay" and for "people who are weak and can't deal with life".

They say they need to discuss secondary objectives to place the bombs, places that are "out of the way". Dylan mentions a trail near Wadsworth, "by your old house" (7844 South Teller Court, according to Eric's home computer). They then talk about how they should "rig something up with a trip bomb between two trees, so when someone goes down the path it will go off." The boys then discuss the possibility of "placing time bombs down there". They mention it would be "harder and take more resources". They say, "This will add a few frags to the list" and that the "fucking fire department is going to be busy for a month".

They talk about a couple of people, one of whom Eric says he wants to "shoot in the groin area". They talk about someone named Jesse Gordon and "the Goof Troop". They then go on a racist tirade, talking about how that "nigger stopped us that day" and how black people talk in "Ebonics". They bash on "spics". Then the subject turns to bowling and how each individual in the bowling class has a designated culture group to use as a target on the bowling pins to kill, and that this helps them bowl better.

They talk about how "world peace is an impossible thing" and mention how you can look on the Internet to learn how to make "bombs, poison, napalm, and how to buy guns if you're underage". They also talk about how "Mrs. X-Y-Z bought our guns".

Eric and Dylan say that there are "only two weeks left, and one more weekend" and that "it is coming up fucking quick". They say the "napalm better not freeze at that certain person's house". They talk about "Chris' pizza's house" like they're trying to disguise a name and discuss "Yoshi" in a negative way. They say that they need a "lot more napalm" and may just use "gas and oil". They express concern that it will be tough, and opening the zipper may make it go off. They say they need some "back-ups". They talk about how the sprinkler system may "put out a fire" and Eric says he should possibly keep the battery out of the device, set the bag, put it in and leave so it doesn't "blow up in the commons".

They discuss credit card fraud; Eric raises his hand like he's admitting to having done it. Then they talk about "tests", saying: "We wouldn't be where we are without them." They talk about gas and oil and how it will be "one hell of a mental picture". They wonder about the possibility of people catching fire. The topic then shifts to graduation and how it will be a "graduation memorial service with lots of people crying". They theorize there will probably be a candlelight memorial.

Eric says he's got "100 bullets and 10 loaded clips", and that he needs lasers for his carbine.

Eric: (looking directly into the camera) "You're lucky it doesn't hold more ammo."

Dylan says he has a "50 round clip, two 36's, and a 24."

"There's a lot of shit to do." they say. They need to set up more propane bombs and get more containers. Dylan says he still needs to get his pants, fill his clips, and get his pouches to load shells in. They say they need "devices" for the propane tanks and they need more "bomb holders". Eric says they need to go to Radio Shack because he heard they had a "thing to increase the voltage" through a clock and speaker, igniting a solar igniter. Eric says that he'd tell people that he was doing special effects for a movie; "that will be a good excuse".

Insist the boys, "We are but we aren't psycho."

Dylan asks Eric if he thinks the cops will listen to the whole video. They then theorize that the video will be cut up into little pieces, and the police would only show the world what they wanted it to look like. Eric and Dylan said then that they wanted to distribute the videos to four news stations. Eric says he's going to his journal and send copies via email to distribute blueprints and maps. He then talks about "Tier" and calls it "My life's work", saying he wants to get it published. (Investigating officer Zimmerman recognized the term as "some of the direction type booklets for the video game Doom" which the officer took from Eric Harris's bedroom during the search warrant following the shootings.)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Almost everyone I went to High School with still had sleepovers in 12th grade, including me. Sleepovers are perfectly normal.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Sue did mention the duffel bag a few times. She said she noticed it but it didn't concern her because she thought it was computer or video equipment. Dylan and Eric had a video class and were constantly filming their senior year.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Why would Dylan not wanting to go to the prom cause any major concerns? He didn't have a girlfriend and he just wasn't interested in going. Lots of teenage boys didn't attend their senior prom, so what? Obviously she bribed him into going so that she could have photos of the occasion, as she has already stated.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - How the hell would she know what the people in Natural Born Killers looked like? And copying a style of a movie/tv star, again, is not out of the norm for teenagers. When I was 5 I was in love with Michael Jackson and would dress up like him. When I was 7, I would dress up like the vampires from 'The Lost Boys' so does that mean I'm going to turn into them? Seriously, this question is just ridiculous. Every kid/teenager under the sun has had some kind of idol they admired and tried dressing up like. Why would this cause concern? And keep in mind, neither one of their parents had any idea about the planning of the massacre or what they were up to. From their perspective, it would just be their child dressing up like a movie star or copying other teenagers at their school.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Doesn't Dylan back up this statement by saying everyone ragged on him, including his family? That they treated him like the runt of the litter and aside from his parents, he got no respect and was picked on? And every time something like that happened, like his brother and his friends picking on him that it added to the anger and rage he already had? That essentially, he's saying 'You caused it' to the people/family that ragged on him/treated him like a runt of the litter?

Most of these questions I can't even take seriously.

The next room that I remember entering was Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I entered Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] running and I stayed to the right (moving counterclockwise around the perimeter). I recall that another police officer was moving to the left (clockwise) and I saw him across the room.

As I entered the room, the taller Newtown Police Officer had stopped at the shooter, holding the barrel of the gun near the shooter’s head. The shooter appeared to be of small stature and I did not know if he was a victim, but I then recognized a handgun near his head and another handgun secured on his person. My immediate impression was that he had committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. He was on the floor, canted to his right so that the left side of his face was visible as I passed.

The first victim I came to in Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] was an adult female. I observed another adult female near a child a distance away. There were also a number of child victims in the room. It was my assessment that all victims in Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] were dead or gravely injured.

My next memory is entering Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I initially moved to the right, counterclockwise, and did not see anything. Getting some distance around the room, I reversed direction and moved down an aisle along the south interior side of the room. As I did so I observed the bodies of two adult females lying on the floor nearest the west side of the room, there was an open or partially open door in the southwest corner of the room. I initially thought this was a closet. As I approached the door I was initially unable to comprehend what I was looking at. As I stared in disbelief, I recognized the face of a little boy on top of a pile. The little boy was face up and I was looking at a profile of the left side of his face, with the top of his head to the west. I do not recall the position of his body. I then began to realize that there were other children around the little boy and that this was actually a pile of dead children. I am unable to recall specific images, but I recall that many had horrific injuries …

Det. Dragon or I had a carried a little boy out of the building and I was attending to him near the curb outside the front doors. This victim came from Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. He was the only victim to be removed from Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

My next recollection is when I returned to the school I went back to Room [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I believe Lt. Vanghele followed me in. I returned to what I thought was a closet, but would later realize was the bathroom. I believe there was one or more gunshot holes in the door jam and blood spatter on the walls. I began to realize that these children had actually been shot in this bathroom. I had to check for survivors. I asked if anyone had access to a phone with a camera as I was about to disturb the crime scene. I started moving bodies. My images of checking the children in the bathroom are not clear. I recall that the sight of the pile of children was unimaginable, and that some of the children had horrific injuries. I know that I began to systematically check for signs of life and remove the children. I remember calling into the pile in the hope that a survivor would answer, and that I was watching and hoping to see movement. I pulled the children out of the pile one by one. As I did so I placed their bodies on the floor in the aisle of the classroom. I started nearest the bathroom and placed the children in a row leading toward the entry door. Remember being disappointed as I worked my way down to the bathroom floor without finding any survivors. I stopped when I had three children left on the bathroom floor. I could access them and confirmed that they were dead. I had no room outside the bathroom for any more bodies, and I could not justify disturbing the crime scene further to remove the remaining three children. I tried to count the number of dead between Rooms [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], but my mind would not count beyond the low teens and I kept getting confused. I pulled my gloves off as I left the room and I do not recall where I disposed of them. (I returned to the room several days later and observed markers indicating the locations of 11 bodies I had removed from the bathroom).

I used to wonder about this as well. I found a site called Sandy Hook facts that I think explains it very well. Basicaly they had 29 casuaties, two were yellow tags, two were red tags, and all the rest were black tags. That means that most of the 29 casulaties were already dead.
