BREAKING NEWS: The perpetrator of the victory rally shooting has been identified as Somhairle Hyde. According to witnesse reports Somhairle shouted out various things such as "The CIA rigged the game!", "I'm Jerry Rice's Top Guy!", "Football? Foot-BAAL! THINK ABOUT IT!" and "TSD! TOTAL SWIFTIE DEATH!". There are unconfirmed reports that Somhairle livestreamed the attack on Twitch under the Madden NFL 24 category.

i did a study earlier this week and (if my statistics are right) february is the month with the most active number of shootings, specifically the first two weeks of it. february was shortly followed behind january and march, so while we're in the danger zone right now it isn't surprising looking at shootings from previous years.

on the bright side, july, june and august are the safest months of the year!

Interesting! Long daylight hours and lots of sunshine keeping depression down? With the opposite being true in February?

i recorded about 600 mass shootings from 1900-2024 in the united states, brazil, venezuela, and mexico, its pretty interesting seeing that certain years had a higher number of shootings during certain months. my results were overall and not based on trends, so things have definitely changed. i could always redo this study using shootings from countries all around the globe in a specific time frame to calculate the recent trends, instead of just north america/south america too

Well, what does the "active shooter" situation denote here?
Does it refer to spree shootings? Or does it also involve shootouts between gang members, drug deals gone bad, drunk drivers shooting at police, barricaded suspect fires at police etc?

In America, spree killings are a minority of "active shooter" interventions. Most are actually related to drugs and other everyday crime. That's why I'm asking. What sort of incidents actually made it onto that graph.
