When exactly did the planning for April 20th start? Were they already on diversion at the time? Was it during it?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I'm re-reading the diversion records (you know, for kicks) and I was just wondering.

I believe the planning started while they were in the diversion program and I think Eric's medication was a really big factor. On one of Eric's violent web page rants he says I don't care if I live or die in the shoot out all I wanted to do is kill and injure as many of you pricks as I possibly can especially a few people like Brooks Brown and that was written before April. But in April 98 is the first time he mentions going NBK in his journal as far as we know. Although in the BT transcripts they said they have been planning it for at least 8 months. But I would love to hear how it got brought up, who came up with it first or did they come up with it at the same time. Sooo many questions that will never be answered

You can't come up with something "at the same time" directly. One definitely influenced the other, even to get the ball rolling.

I'd love to know when it stopped becoming a joke. Was it ever considered to be a joke? They were both disturbed young men, one must have rubbed off on the other. The question is who? People can be so certain that it's Eric on one side and so sure that it's Dylan on the other, but I don't think that's it's as black and white as that. They both were responsible, equally. I just want to know who changed from a loving child, to blood thirsty killer first.

And yes you are right. Unfortunataly they both had a strong and negative influence on each other. Some people believed it started out as a sick joke and then throughout time it escalated into something serious which I think is true. It really didn't become serious until they bought their guns. And they probably rubbed off each other in different ways and since I'm not sure who turned from a loving child into a blood thirsty killer first I'm not even going to attempt to answer. But I would love to know that as well.
