"One person shot and wounded another at western Texas' Alpine High School on Thursday morning before the shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot, Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson said.

A police officer also was accidentally shot by a marshal as officers responded to the school, Dodson said. The conditions of the two injured people were not immediately released.

The Brewster County Sheriff's Office initially said two shooters were believed to be on the loose, but Dodson said late Thursday morning that with the initial shooter dead, no others were being sought.
The shooting happened in the school's band hall, Brewster County Attorney J. Steve Houston said. The names of those involved in the shootings weren't immediately released."

Apparently it was female shooter.

"A female student shot and injured another female student before shooting and killing herself at Alpine High School in Brewster County, Texas, according to Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson.

A police officer at the school was injured by accidental friendly fire by another officer. The local hospital is treating two injured individuals, according to BuzzFeed.

The shooting comes just two weeks into the school year. It marks the second shooting in a high school this academic year, according to Everytown for Gun Safety, with the first taking place in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The school, which has about 280 students, was placed on lockdown and students were evacuated in response to the shooting.

Seems like this girl killed herself in that school after shooting another girl. This brings me back to Jeremy Delle when he shot himself infront of the class. Whoa, why am I surprised that it's a female this time?

Due to not many details released it does seem like this girl had specific targets. We don't hear too much about female shooters

Either a revenge situation or a relationship they shared? She had to have prior troubles with herself to make that decision. I know. I can't remember the last time I heard a girl bring a gun to school but to shoot herself.

It sure is a tiny school. I am glad no one else has died. It is too bad that it had to happen.
