I was looking through a document of 11K facts assembled by Langman, and two people described him as "preppy" in the first couple of years of high school. At least one person said Dylan used to be preppy and a jock.

Sara Martin [5,036] as sophomore, EH was preppy

Megan Morrison [5,052] knew DK since 8th grade; he had been “preppie and a jock”

Jason Cornelius [6,281]EH was preppie in 9th and 10th grades, then changed and wore black clothes and shirts with German words

A lot of people noted a change in Eric and Dylan's appearance and behavior around the time they went into their Junior year. What caused that?

Eric always struck me as more pretty/more conservative in dress. He didn't seem to wear his trench as much as Dylan. He wore his Denver Broncos sweatshirt in Rampart Range while Dylan wore his trench

I have to be honest through learning about Dylan and reading AMR... he never struck me as "preppy" or conservative in dress. He always seemed a bit more alternative in dress and music. Dylan always seemed more artsy and Eric more conservative due to his military upbringing.

I DO agree their change seemed to happen more at the beginning of Junior year and I'd love to delve into that more.


They are probably saying Dylan was a "jock" because of his pitching. He was a fast and strong pitcher.

Accordning to Dylans journal that is about the time when he starts to go from depressed to suicidal, writing alot about Zach having left him.

Also in October he writes about having been to the zombie bliss side and not liking it and preferring the awareness. What's that all about? What is it that he did that he describes as having been to the zombie bliss side?

Junior year, Devon would be a freshman so I assume that is when they started dating

Zombie bliss would be "Ignorance is bliss and that explains my depression" so he tried to be a part of a "group" and just be happy but he can't because he knows too much?


I sometimes wonder if Devon, Robyn, Zach or Brooks stumble these analysis and laugh because we are reading TOO much into it or because they have the answer.

I totally feel like I can relate to that journal entry, to be honest I think I have even made a journalentry that is pretty similar and when I wrote it I usually ment that I went to some party or hung out with a larger group of people that did nothing but gossip or talk about useless stuff.

I wonder what group of friends he is referring to or if it was some special event or something.

The more I learn about Dylan from the information we have the more I see we were VERY similar.

The sad thing is too, if we went to CHS and were in the class (we were/are the same age) we may never have known if we didn't talk to each other.

So there were probably people who could have connected with him more? Who knows.

Knowing how depressed I got in high school just because of numbing away from how braindead I thought everyone around me were... I totally understand the change of image. Changing perspectives in order to stay sane somehow... but it failing miserably

Even try to induce some kind of separate personality to distance yourself from your own life. God... that shit really fucks with your head

Eric and Dylan actually seemed to be conforming when they changed their public image, only they were conforming to the tastes of the TCM members and outcasts instead of the average Columbine student. From what I've read (and they might have been rumors or I might be completely wrong), the TCM members were the first ones to start making jokes about bombing the school and Chris Morris was building bombs on his own. I don't know that Eric and Dylan were really thinking for themselves. I think that in some ways, they were heavily influenced by the kids they wanted to be like but in the end, they took it much further.

There was talk in passing like from Robert Perry from what I understand

I feel like Chris and him were suspected on 4/20 at first.

Chris was definitely suspected but I'm pretty sure Perry's personality was nothing like Chris Morris' personality. I think Chris was hot-headed and prone to fighting and I did not read the same things about Perry (though I could be wrong). I think the only reason that Perry was suspected was because of who he associated with and because he bore a resemblance to Dylan in some people's eyes.

People were mean when they were talking about how Robert Perry looked.
