If he was careful about it. Like, if he went to a doctor and explained how we was feeling(he could even say he was feeling homicidal, James Holmes did..), as long as he didn't say what he was planning to do, he wouldn't get arrested.

Are you serious? Bastian's weapons were worse. 3 single shot muzzleloaders that take like a minute to reload (one sawed off) and a sawed off, single shot, bolt action .22 air rifle is worse than a lever action rifle and a single shot shotgun.

I wasn't in the TCC or on Tumblr back in 2015 but I read a lot about them and if I remember everything correctly, both Gamble's and Souvannarath's blogs were still on Tumblr last year and I scrolled a little bit through them. While I was doing that, I suddenly really wondered why they hadn't been caught earlier. It was nearly obvious they were planning something...

It’s unlikely they would have been able to kill more than 3 people, they would have gotten lucky to even kill one. James and Lindsay had never shot a gun before and they had limited knowledge on firearms. They also only had 38 rounds in total 13 for the .308 lever action and 25 for the single shot 16 gauge shotgun. The shotgun ammo was also birdshot which is generally the most ineffective against humans. A lever action gun and a single shot gun are also rather ill suited for trying to kill many people quickly. Before the supposed shooting James was supposed to shoot his parents, assuming he’s using the lever action .308 as that is what he was supposed to use during the shooting that would take off 2 more rounds leaving him with only 11. Before the shooting James was also supposed to shoot and kill Randall after killing his parents which would leave him with only 10 rounds to work with by the time they got to the mall. (After killing his parents Lindsay and Randall were supposed to come to James’s house and James kill Randall in a assisted suicide.) Lindsay is also like 5’2 and at the time of the supposed shooting only 90-95 lbs and she was supposed to be wearing some sort of high heeled boots during the shooting, she would have probably been knocked over from the recoil.

In the chatlogs they had one of James Gamble's last messages was "I’m sitting here with the shotgun in my lap and three shells in my pocket... It makes me think about just how fragile life really is... I have in my lap the power to end somebody’s life instantly... I loaded it... Waiting to be unleashed... I feel amazing... How are you feeling?" so i assume he was gonna use the shotgun to kill his parents and Randall so he would've still had 13 rounds for the rifle. Doesn't change much tho.
