The Setegaya Family murders was an event in which an unknown intruder murdered all 4 of the Miyazawa Family.
It all starts with an Unknown killer who was said to have specifically prepared for the attack shortly before it happened, The killer purchased unique clothing and 2 10 inch Sashimi Knives in the Kanagawa Prefecture of Tokyo to then travel by train to the Setegaya area and Miyazawa Home.

Some time after 10 PM the Killer cut the phone lines and climbed a tree and cut through a 2nd floor screen window, The killer then entered the Bedroom of 6 Year old Rei Miyazawa and strangled him to death in his sleep, The killer then hid at the top of the stairs as 44 year old Mikio Miyazawa climbed the stairs, once reaching the top Mikio was stabbed 10 times in the throat with the 2 10 inch Knives and then was pushed down the stairs. Shortly after it is determined that the killer chased Mikios wife Yasuko and his 8 year old daughter Niina and attacked them in the 3rd floor loft, for some reason the Killer stopped attacking them and went down to the kitchen to retrieve another knife, during this time it is theorised that Yasuko and Niina tried escaping the loft and retrieved bandages at the top of the stairs until the Killer returned and violently stabbed them both to death and kept stabbing them for a short time after.

After the killings the Killer remained in the home for a number of hours, It is said that he first Used a first Aid Kit and Yasukos menstrual pads to bandage up wounds he had received in the scuffle with Yasuko and Niina. He left the bandages in the Bathtub.
From there the Killer rummaged through papers and belongings wrecking the house in the process, Two wallets containing 150, 000 yen ($1,322) were found emptied yet the Killer left behind Bank cards, deposits and more cash. Still, the Killer Remained in the home.
It is then determined that the killer ate 4 cups of ice cream from the freezer and took a nap until 1 AM in which he would access the family computer whilst leaving no fingerprints and attempted to buy tickets to a theatre group in which Mikio already saved on the computer. He would once again access the computer at 10 AM in the morning.
The killer then left behind both Knives, His bloody sweatshirt, 1 glove, His trousers which contained Zelkova leaves, Willow leaves and Bird droppings in the pockets, His hip bag which contained sand grains from the Mojave Desert and a Handkerchief which contained traces of Drakkar Noir aftershave, He also stole an old sweater.
The killer also left behind footprints containing dirt from the Korean Peninsular, Blood from his wounds and Faeces in the toilet. Through DNA collection they were able to determine that the Killer was 5ft 7 and is Mixed race with a a mix of European and Oriental Asian yet they were never able to trace the DNA to a suspect.
The Bodies were found some time after the killer left by Yasukos Mother who let herself in to the house and discovered the scene.
Till this day No suspect has never been found and a 10 million Yen bounty is on his head.
It Is likely that the man who slayed the Miyizawas will never be found and his motives will never be known. This Event will continue to remain in the dark topic of Unsolved Murders.
