| You guys probably already know this, but having just researched it, federal law doesn't require states to make mental health records part of the background check. This needs to change. We need federal law to require every state to make all mental health records part of a background check.
I don't see video games taking the blame at all though. All I see is people complaining about people blaming video games.

Most witness reports and the stream video/audio indicate it being some sort of .22 Handgun with a under barrel laser |

Katz had two handguns. A .45mm and a 9 mm. Is that confirmed, from the vid/audio plus witness reports and injuries it sounds like a .22 pistol, many reports and victims described the rounds bouncing off their bones and lodging in the victims but i dunno if it turns out to be 9mm or .45, the shots sound fairly quiet or do you think its a possibility he had some sort of muzzle attachment like a silencer |

thats a question that applies to Pekka Auvinen and Seung Hui Cho too. With Pekka, it was because of a 9mm being too high of a caliber for him to use because of laws. He wanted a Beretta. Not sure 'bout cho. |

| Does a .45mm handgun even exist?
I think you all mean a .45 inch calibre handgun. There are several types of .45 cartridges.
The above mentioned (.45mm) calibre would probably not be terminally effective.

Fucking Christ, I am so fucking tired of hearing this same bullshit about psyche drugs getting repeated ad nauseum even though it's easily proven to be false. We get it, you don't like psyche drugs, but it would be so much better if you took umbrage with what the actual problems with them are instead of making them up. _________________ "My guns are the only things that haven't stabbed me in the back." -Kip Kinkel

I think it's interesting you haven't, you aren't really missing out on much. I know there are competition's but I had no idea how much $ is at stake or how competitive it has become. A lot of pressure with something that should be fun. Shouldn't it? Nope. Never heard of Madden before yesterday. I'm in

Nah, not really. If gaming isn't something you are into, then I'd say there are a lot of things on here that make you scratch your head. Also as others stated, it's just a football game. |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]A handwritten letter penned by a then-16-year-old David Katz paints a disturbing picture of his relationship with his mother, nearly a decade before he opened fire on a Florida gaming tournament. The scathing letter, penned by Katz in 2009 and obtained exclusively by Inside Edition, was sent it to the judge presiding over his parents’ divorce case and is part of the court file. "I hate her more than anything in the world," he wrote about his mother. "I hate everything about her." Katz had severe mental issues, and was treated at two mental hospitals as a teenager. He also spent more than three months at a wilderness survival camp in Utah for troubled teens. Katz was treated for schizophrenia with anti-psychotic and anti-depressant drugs, according to his parents' divorce papers. "David would go days without bathing, would play video games until 4 a.m. on school nights, would walk around the house in circles," according to the judge who heard the divorce case. Once, when his mother hid his game controller, he, “Punched a hole in her bedroom door.” Sometimes he would “curl up in a ball and sob.” On Sunday, Katz, of Baltimore, Maryland, was at the "Madden NFL 19" event at GLHF Game Bar in Jacksonville when he opened fire, killing Eli Clayton, 22, and Taylor Robertson, 27, and wounding 11 others. Katz then turned the gun on himself. The 24-year-old was an elite player of the game, and was known by the tag name “Bread.” He was also known as “MrSlicedBread,” and “RavensChamp.” Clearly Katz didn't have much love for Mommy dearest. |

This intense hatred for his mother reminds me a lot of Robert Hawkins hating his stepmom.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Is it sad to say that my only real goal is to make sure that as my kids get older they can NEVER say they hate me and actually mean it? I would literally be broken beyond repair if either of my children could ever say those words and have any true justification to back it up. |

| It's obvious he haven't rage quit. He came prepared for the shooting, so he must have planned to go down fighting if he didn't win another $10k. I don't know, do people even think here? He probably looks enraged because that lost game sealed his fate and he wasn't suicidal. - Tommy QTR wrote:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] He looks emaciated, had nickname "bread"/"sliced bread", was playing solely for money, mentally ill, most probably disabled - wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have other source of income than pro-gaming. I'd like to know what was the state of his finances. Did he lose support of his family? Got a benefits cut? It's interesting how people are so completely devoid of humanity that they don't notice that he's emaciated. Like it's the first thing I saw. I think that gamer community is incredibly toxic because of lack of mutual support and dog eat dog mentality. Funny thing is that this very event made tech-bros from Tumblr axe the TCC. I mean they literally tolerated a fandom to the neo-Nazi Dylann Roof for like 5 years, tolerated Cruzers and what made them take any action (before they got bored and forgot about it) was a few tech-bros getting gunned down. It's like they have very limited humanity even for people inside of their clique and complete lack of humanity for everyone else.

He obviously didn't shoot them because he lost, or maybe it was a condition but not the reason. He already had the guns and ammos with him. He had mental health issues and a toxic relationship with his mother. |
