I think the fact that a person would shoot up a bank for no reason proves my theory that shootings and other random acts of violence is part of human nature.

Yeah I know that happened, it would still be a stupid place to shoot up.
And yet the Fort Hood shooting was so deadly! It's incredible how chance still have a huge part in tragedies. A super prepared shooter with many guns who planned his attack for years could fail and be stop in a minute, and a kid with only a handgun can kill dozens. Sometimes I think the result of a shooting depends more on the victims' reactions than on the shooter.
