RT is reporting that the attacker's name is Vladislav Roslyakov

Reports are saying 19 killed, all from the shooting.

Suspect has also committed suicide, in library of all places.

There's been a lot of back and forth on whether or not there was a bomb involved at all. Doesn't help that this is happening in an area with a lot of political tension. I wonder if the Russian authorities are going to use this as an excuse to crack down on dissidents in the area.

"The Russian national anti-terrorism committee, a government body, said the explosion at a polytechnic was caused by an “unidentified explosive device”, according to Russia’s Tass state news agency.
The bomb blast took place in the city of Kerch, which is the entry point for a new 19km bridge linking Crimea to Russia.
On local television, the head of the college described an armed rampage with attackers gunning down pupils and teachers, leaving bodies strewn throughout the building. At least one attacker blew himself or herself up, the school director said.
“It was a real terrorist attack, like in Beslan,” the school director, Olga Grebennikova, said, referring to the 2004 terror attack that left more than 330 dead.
Russia’s Investigative Committee declared the assault a terrorist attack and said the explosive device was laced with metal strips that acted as shrapnel when it was detonated

“There are a lot of bodies, a lot of bodies of children,” she said in the video, which was posted to the news site KerchNet. The attackers “ran with automatic rifles, I don’t know what they were, on the second floor, opening offices and killing everyone they could find”.
“I would also be a corpse,” she said. “Because all of my people were shot to death. Kids and employees were killed.”
The committee said early estimates suggested that 10 people had been killed and more than 50 wounded in the explosion, which happened in the college cafeteria.
Reports from witnesses quoted by local media suggested there may have been shooting and an attempt to take hostages prior to the explosion. Police have so far not commented on the incident. Russian media first reported the blast as the result of a gas explosion."

It's not trending here in the United States (yet). Whenever there is a major mass shooting here, everyone understandably makes a big deal about it, but whenever that same thing happens in any other country, we just ignore it. It bothers me cause there are many people I meet who think mass shootings only happen in the US.

Preliminary figures are 50 injured and 10 dead.

Crimea's president Sergey Aksyonov, said that the attacker was a 22-year-old student in the college's fourth-year class, and that the student killed himself.

The gas canister explosion is said to have occurred Wednesday at the vocational college in the city of Kerch in eastern Crimea, according to local emergency officials.

Emergency officials initially had said the blast was caused by a gas explosion.

TASS news agency cited Sergei Melikov, the first deputy head of the Russian National Guard, as saying the explosion was an act of terrorism carried out using a homemade bomb.

Olga Grebennikova, the college's director, told Crimean media outlets in an interview outside the college that the bodies of children were everywhere.

"The majority of them are teenagers", the committee said in a statement, adding that the metallic device was planted in the school's cafeteria.

Local media reported that the explosion happened in the cafetaria, where an improvised explosive device (IED) allegedly went off.

TASS, also state-run, quoted an unnamed law enforcement official as saying that about 70 people were injured and an unknown number of them had died.

The Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper quoted student Semyon Gavrilov, who said he fell asleep during a lecture and woke up to the sound of shooting.

He said police arrived about 10 minutes later and he saw bodies on the floor and charred walls.

Around 20 people have been rushed to hospital by paramedics and doctors are expected around 50 more wounded.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia’s Investigative Committee said on Wednesday that a fatal attack on a college in Crimea was a case of mass murder not terrorism and named 18-year-old student Vladislav Roslyakov as its chief suspect in the rampage.

Roslyakov had gone on a shooting spree in the college before committing suicide, the committee said, and could be seen beforehand on CCTV entering the school with a rifle.

A student has killed 18 people in a deadly massacre at a school in Crimea.

Victims' limbs were blown off in a blast, which tore through the technical college in Kerch, before gunfire began.

The gunman, named as Vladislav Roslyakov, was reportedly "killing everyone they could find, all those they could see".

The shooter is said to have killed himself after the massacre and images reportedly showing his face have emerged on social media.

Svetlana Petrenko, from Russia’s Investigative Committee, said: "An unidentified explosive device stuffed with metal items went off at the canteen of the polytechnic college."

A pupil at the college, who gave his name as Sergei, said he had taken a few steps out of the building into the street when the first blast went off.

He was hit by debris from the blast and injured in the leg. Sergei, 15, told Reuters he ran to another building, but said he could hear more explosions going off every few seconds.

He took cover and after the attack was over, he was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

He said: “I arrived at the hospital, the scene there was awful.

“They’re bringing in people all covered in blood, some with arms missing, some with legs missing.”





Well I guess that clears up if a bomb was actually used or not.

Some shit gets leaked fairly fast. I seem to recall that Paddocks pics were leaked within a few hours as well.

Perhaps it is because of technological advancement. Phones have cameras and internet nowadays. Taking a picture of a crime scene is fast and easy,and so is uploading it on social media for others to see.

I think it's fair to say that Eric would have likely been pissed. Mainly that his bombs all failed while this guy's actually worked, and did a fair amount of damage by the reports.

The Wiki page states he used a 12 gauge pump shotgun. This looks to be like the gun in the suicide pic as well.
