| I've always been intrigued by true crime, and Columbine especially. After coming to this board and becoming a member, I decided to go back and read Dave Cullen's book. Towards the end, he stats that a judge ordered certain documents sealed for 20 years (from the time of the hearing) and would be released in 2024.
I believe the information is the depositions-under oath-of both the Harrises and Klebold's. According to the book, the victims families demanded the depositions and the families agreed on the condition of the documents being destroyed shortly thereafter. The judge ruled that the information should available, but sealed the information for 20 years.
So, my first questions is....is this accurate? And secondly, does anyone have any more information? | |

| I haven't heard that they were to be destroyed. I am not sure why, the families had said they still had a lot of questions and didn't get some answers they wanted.. but the thing is, I don't think either families (the Klebolds or Harris's-to some extent) knew the issues with Eric and Dylan were as severe as they were. I don't think any information would make it easier.
I know that the Klebolds and the other families were surprised that they were not released right away. Lauren's mom said she really wanted to talk about them and I think Sue wants to as well, but they can't.
I don't think we are going to learn any new information from Sue but we will hear from Tom and Eric's parents. _________________ "And you know, you know, you know, this can be beautiful, you say you're numb inside, but I can't agree. | True, Sue unburdened her soul with the book as best she could. She has continued to do so with the other things she has involved herself in. BUT I am desperately wanting to hear from Tom. I would also LOVE to hear Byron's thoughts, to see what his perspective was as well.
I wont lie though, hearing Eric's parents say ANYTHING will be what interests me most. Other then hearing Wayne and Kathy, I'd also like to hear from Kevin too. |

Uh oh, better be careful about that. Bringing anything that Dave Cullen said onto this forum is the written equivalent of the stand-your-ground law. |

I get why people have a problem with him but the trend seems to be to dismiss him completely as Satan the Deceiver himself and I don't think that's fair at all. Anyway, I cannot WAIT for any further information about Columbine to be released. I find it silly that stuff like this has to be sealed for a quarter century as opposed to something more reasonable like a year or two, maybe five. |

His "Eric got chicks, lots and lots of chicks." will forever haunt poor Dave. BUT if you are familiar with Columbine at all. If you have done the research for yourself AND can discount all his drama filled fabrications, then the book wasn't all that bad. AND yes I do agree. The length of time these documents were sealed was ridiculous. But it is what it is, we will get them eventually. |

| I think we are all eagerly awaiting to finally see what Wayne and Kathy had to say. |

| Definitely. At this point I'd be excited over even a brief few sentences from the Harries. Of course I'm hoping for more, but I'm trying to be realistic since I'm expecting them to screw us over and either 1) only give us a summary of the depositions, 2) give us a heavily redacted version, or 3) they'll wait until 2027 and tell us they've already been destroyed.
It sounds too good to be true that they'd finally give us something worth while from this puzzle.
