Only, the real Johnny Truelove was caught after the movie was shot. Hes real name is Jesse James Hollywood. As poorly made as I thought the movie was, I was fascinated with how authentic it is to the actual crime. Sources:

Yeah I remember they had a segment about this case on Unsolved Mysteries back when Hollywood was on the run, it was a pretty interesting segment iirc

Yeah it's okay, I prefer my documentaries to have some re-enactments thrown in imo
