I heard that the Columbine repository website [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is being offered as a transfer to interested, passionate Columbine researchers in taking it on and managing it.  According to the owner, Ethan Emerson, the site has a ton of information on it and many pages, however, he does not have the time or interest to reorganize/manage it any further and would prefer not to just delete it.  The only cost involved is the yearly hosting fee, which according to Ethan, is pretty low.

I stumbled across the site several times before, but I think there actually is not much to say about it, because most of the site seems to be not finished. I also think the headline "The only source you need" is not only arrogant, but probably pretty incorrect, too.

Yeah I saw a few people discussing this over on Facebook. It would be great if someone here got hold of it, the site is unfinished and would need quite a bit of work on it but could be worthwhile. I think there has been some discussion that if nobody takes it on it will get deleted which would be a shame. I just hope the site goes to the right person.

I've messaged him about it. He says he has a group of people who want to run it together. I wouldn't want to be apart of a group running a page though, that would never work out. So I told him if that doesn't work out, he should message me.

I think he will make the right decision whoever he gives it to. It would be great if the site was finally finished one day.

I'm auctioning off DK.com so that I don't have to choose the new owner, and it's fair to everyone who is interested.  

My Columbine website is officially up or for aunction with BONUS items...13K-50K uniques/day was once 800k+/month at it's peak. It could easily be built back up with attention.  Auction ends Dec 6th!

I still can't believe he names his website after Dylan, just seems kinda wrong to me. And from what I've read on the site the guy seems to be full of himself. I for one will be glad to see the site go. Or at least not be under his ownership.

I think it's a combination of last minute bidding and if no one bids, he'll pass it to the friends he was negotiating with earlier - or.. it'll just be deleted. It would be nice if someone that was passionately interested took it on but then again the site structuring probably only makes sense to him. However, the content could be collected for a totally new site.

Yep, you are exactly right. That is exactly why I decided not to bid on it. I can't say for other people though, but the structure of it and all that would need to be done to take it over, seems overwhelming and doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

FYI. The auction was simply renewed.

I threw a bid on it... If I win it... Who wants the website and will take care of it... I will give it away there is too much to be lost from this site.

I really hope the site doesn't get deleted. Should we start saving some of the information on there in case such a horrible scenario comes true?

Like I said I put a bid on it, Hopefully I win it. I also just sent him a message on ebay telling him that yes I did bid on it, but if he EVER decided he wanted it back I would give it back.
I would be willing to let someone here run it as I do not know anything about running a website. If I do win it I will post all files somewhere so they don't get lost.

If you do win it, you'd have to pay for someone to host it, like Host Gator. I was going to bid on it but it seems very confusing and he put in the auction that he wouldn't be able to provide any assistance on it.

Does anyone know what's going on with this site? It was sold nearly 3 months ago and it hasn't changed or been updated. I wonder if the new owner is even going to maintain the site?
