Police Respond to Reports of Active Shooter at Gilroy Garlic Festival

Police and emergency personnel late Sunday responded to reports of a shooting involving multiple victims at the Gilroy Garlic Festival.

Ambulance crews were told 11 people were down in an active shooter incident at Gilroy's Christmas Hill Park.

One witness told NBC Bay Area he was on his way out when felt a bullet pass by his head, and when he turned around, he saw everyone running.

The annual festival was wrapping up its third and final day when the reports came in.

Allegedly 7 dead 4 injured (unconfirmed at this time)

Apparently 60 have been injured, 3 confirmed dead, and shooter still at large.

I don't agree. These articles haven't given me any new information that suggests that our perp's racism was anything except Eric Harris style chest pounding. I also repeat, he didn't explicitly target racial minorities to any of our knowledge (in fact I'm pretty sure all the victims were white), so I very much doubt that this was racially motivated.

I would argue it was racially motivated, he posted on his Instagram “Why overcrowd towns and pave more open space to make room for hordes of mestizos and Silicon Valley white twats?” which is obviously pretty racist. It was confirmed 2 of the dead were Mexican and I'm guessing a lot of injured were as well, in fact in the eye witness footage we can see most people at the festival are Mexican. Just because he also targeted white people doesn't mean anything, Neo-Nazis hate other white people for being "race traitors" especially in California, hell the original Nazis hated other white people so I have no doubt this dude did as well. Also why would he tell people to read a white supremacist book? It obviously played a huge part in radicalising him and I don't think Eric ever did that.

In that case it would lend more weight to the theory that this was racially motivated and not just edgelordism. I actually didn't know that some of the victims were Hispanic, they looked white to me.
