I'm surprised he tried to get it overturned in the first place, considering a) life in Supermax must be really shitty; b) if he was executed, from what I understand, radical Islam would count that as some form of "martyrdom" (correct me if I'm wrong). I guess he doesn't believe that strongly in that whole thing anymore, in that case.
