Do you think Nancy didn't lock her guns up?

I'm not that educated on the case but Adam had had access to guns since he was a kid because of Nancy and so she probably saw no need to lock them up as Adam had somewhat been raised with them.

Nancy bought the guns with her name. Adam was the one who really owned the guns in the house.

Nancy trusted Adam I think, Adam wasn't disrespectful or abusive to Nancy- at least I didn't read any articles saying that so I think Nancy simply trusted Adam for some reason.
