I think James Holmes was known to be pretty cool. Typical awkward science guy but had friends and dates.
You hear a lot about Dylan being funny, shy and a good friend/listener.
If every mass shooter/serial killer kept throwing out red flags and being a cartoon villain it would be easier to spot them and take actions.

-Pekka eric auvinen in real life seemed not to be someone very troublesome, but someone more shy and quiet.
-Steven Kazmierczak was described by his girlfriend like "The nicest and most caring person ever"
-Luiz Henrique de Castro was know as shy and educated person. The only trouble he had was with a electricist who had problems with his father.

Jose Reyes was described as a nice kid by his neighbors and also by some of his classmates. Customers who went to his family's restaurant said Jose was always happy and had a smile on his face
