Uvalde Texas May 24

Might as well get this started as an information thread even though there are about 50 conflicting reports on what’s happening, as this is active. A shooting has occurred in an elementary school in Texas.

Allegedly 30 have been shot. I’m seeing 2 have confirmed been killed, and there’s allegedly a video of the shooter walking around and into the school from an eyewitness view.



the shooter ALLEGEDLY is Salvador Ramos, 18. Instagram username of “salv8dor_”, if this person is confirmed to be the shooter and his account is taken down, I’ll post pics of what is on it. There’s some gun photos which show an eotech and a DDm4.

but at the moment this is all active and vastly unknown, there’s a variation of numbers and some reports saying he’s dead and others saying he isn’t.

Word by Texas governor is that the shooter is dead. Some saying he was killed by police.

The girl he tagged in his story on his highlight is saying she knows absolutely nothing about him, she doesn’t live in Texas. She has a highlight on her account showing the messages she received from him.

A lot of people are comparing him to Adam Lanza. He killed his grandma before he went to the elementary school just like how Adam killed his mom before going to sandy hook

Similar situation with Kip. Killed family then went to school (though Kip’s was his own he attended)

Haven’t really been viewing commentary on him. Just been waiting for stated reports of what has happened and if any motivation/notes/“manifesto” will come out.

It also looks like he messaged more than just the one girl that was tagged in his highlight.

Yeah I was watching the news and saw that too. The most recent press conference didn't divulge any new information besides confirming the shooter died so it's going to be interesting finding out what exactly happened.

He was wearing body armor. Carrying a rifle and a backpack.

He crashed near a ditch by the school. Attempted to enter the school through south doors and was engaged by school district police officers (ISD). Entered school anyway.

Law enforcement took him down.

Only one adult was killed other than shooter.

Houston hospital treating a 66 year old woman and a 10 year old girl both in critical condition.

Local hospitals have treated about 20 injured.

Apparently that's fake. People have been using pictures of reddit user u/Apprehensive_Ad_995 (who looks similar to Romas) as proof but that account has confirmed that they are a different person

He looks skinny but not as gaunt as Lanza

Yes. Another comparison ive seen people make between Romas and Lanza is that they both looked emaciated

speaking of lanza, this is this decades' sandy hook. i'm sure nothing will come of it politically but it hopefully will get people talking about gun control and what can be done to curb this disturbing trend.

edit: major props to the border patrol agent who had balls big enough to take him on and kill him. didn't call for backup or anything. he's what neil gardner and scot peterson should have been: a hero.

I follow independent journalists. They were quick on updating the situation, getting videos from eyewitnesses, etc. The account is realnewsnobullshit for those curious. Saw someone in the comments say his username so went to check it out and archive it before it got taken down.


Story so far is that he shot his grandma (who is still alive at the moment, critical condition) and drove the car to the elementary school, where he entered and killed 21 people after seemingly being chased by police, the numbers include 19 children and 2 adults. This number may fluctuate as many are still in the hospital.

Initial reporting was that there was a shooting in the area, then it changed to active shooter on the school's campus.

Two of the victims have been identified, one being 10-year-old Xavier Lopez, "He was in 4th grade. According to his cousin, Xavier's mom was at his awards ceremony 1-2 hours prior to the shooting. It would be the last time she would see him.", and the other is 4th grade teacher Eva Mirales.
Most of the victims were between the ages of 7-10.

Some more initial reporting on the shooter's behavior leading up to this. Was said that he stopped showing up to school and would not graduate with the rest of his class.

"“He would be very rude towards the girls sometimes, and one of the cooks, threatening them by asking, ‘Do you know who I am?’ And he would also send inappropriate texts to the ladies,” said the former co-worker, who did not want her name used.

“At the park, there’d be videos of him trying to fight people with boxing gloves. He’d take them around with him.”'

"Former friend Santos Valdez Jr., told The Washington Post that the two had been close friends until Ramos’ behavior started to “deteriorate.” He said Ramos, who was often bullied over a speech impediment that included a stutter and lisp, once cut up his own face with a knife “just for fun.” Valdez said he first said he was scratched by a cat and then admitted he had done it himself. “Then he told me the truth, that he’d cut up his face with knives over and over,'"

He's definitely skinny but I think he's more naturally slim than due to an eating disorder.

no, they're too busy grieving and hoping that better gun laws come in place to prevent this from happening over and over again, rather than the news cycle moving on to the next shooting within a few weeks.

More info on the shooter. Basically reiterates what I've said prior, him giving himself scars on his face, people feeling uncomfortable around him, etc. The guns were recently purchased, as the shooter only turned 18 a week or two ago.


Apparently he had/sent images of animal abuse.

His grandfather says that the he was a felon (assuming gramps was referring to himself), and knows no way that he could've gotten the guns. The shooter had no license to drive and couldn't drive, so it's unknown how he was able to purchase the guns.

Reyes said his grandson celebrated his 18th birthday on May 16 with a trip to Applebee’s with his grandmother—but they had no idea he also celebrated by purchasing two assault rifles and 375 rounds of ammunition."

"On Tuesday morning, Reyes said a neighbor alerted him that Ramos, who is unlicensed, had shot his grandmother and taken his grandmother’s truck. Newsy reported that a neighbor named Eduardo said Ramos was angry that he didn’t graduate and got into an argument with his grandmother. She was screaming “He shot me! He shot me!” the neighbor recounted to Newsy."


tldr school drop out that had a bad relationship with their mother (no surprise, common trend)
