Subject: 2018 Shadrinsk school shooting Wed Jan 25, 2023 8:34 pm
On March 21, 2018 13yo girl, Natalya Kabakova, opened fire with a gas pistol at middle school she attended in Shadrinsk, Russia. She wounded 7 of her classmates inside a classroom. Two other girls, including her sister, were also engaged in the attack.
On the day of the attack Natalya and two other girls, Anya (Natalya's sister) and Valentina, entered the school at early morning. Before the geography lesson Valentina told the teacher she was sick. When the teacher began to ask her what was going on, she started talking off topic and distracting the teacher. Earlier, the teacher told his students to come into the classroom and the students waited for the teacher. Then, Natalya entered the classroom armed with a gas pistol and her sister barricaded the door. Natalya pulled off her gas pistol, shouting: ''This is for Anya!'' and opened fire. Shortly after attack began, the teacher, still on school corridor with Valentina, run into the classroom interrupting the shooting. Natalya shot and wounded 7 of her classmates before being subdued by the teacher and other student. One of injured students was in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the temple. After the attack, the school was evacuated and police arrested Natalya and the other girls. Valentina and Anya had knives in their backpacks, but they didn't use them.
Natalya's motive was revenge for school bullying. She and her sister were bullied for their shyness and other unspecified things. Their best friend, Valentina, was also bullied because of her friendship with Natalya and Anya. At the age of 11 Natalya experienced heartbreak after she was romantically rejected by a male classmate. The gas pistol used in the shooting was purchased by Natalya from an online military store. She was not tried because of her age and was placed in a correctional facility. According to other students, Natalya and two other girls engaged in attack talked about Columbine to each other a few days before the shooting.
Natalya's parents also had legal problems after her attack and were accused of negligence in caring for her.

This is just beyond sad that these children get involved in these sorts of situations. Not very long ago I heard that a 10 year in Brazil old shot his Teacher and then himself.
