Reports are saying 6-7 dead, the shooter is *possibly* believed to have committed suicide. It happened at a Jehovah’s Witnesses gathering in the GroßBorstel region of Hamburg.

First thought is Islamic terror, but idk, Islamic terrorists usually either get killed by police or blow themselves up. Eight injured seem to be in critical condition, more deaths could follow. Wonder what weapons he used.

I would assume it was an ex-Jehovah's Witness. The pattern of attack does not seem very jihadist. There are plenty of reasons for a former JW to be displeased with them.

More than likely Tobias Rathjen style.

Germany definitely has the most mass shootings per capita out of every European country besides Russia. (Only part of Russia is located in the geographical area of Europe but I'm referring to ethnicity)

Been following this case for a few hours, the shooter is suspected to be among the dead and there'll be a press conference at 11 AM GMT.

Toll is 7 dead 25 injured, 8 critical.

What gun he used?

A hand gun, legally owned apparently. There is footage of him lurking round on the balcony with his gun.

The perpetrator was identified as 35yo Philipp Fusz

Fusz was indeed an ex-Jehovah's witness who left the community one and a half years ago. It's reported that he felt a lot of anger towards the JWs and religious groups in general, but the reasons are still unknown

Will be interesting watching death toll rise and injured lower.. Might get to 9 or 10 deaths total, time will tell!
Is also possible they will abandon such beliefs in the face of peril (such as this) as many times, from personal experience, they are just members for economic/social reasons, which might have to take passenger seat to life/death.. who knows

I wondered this as well! A part of me believes that some people will reject blood transfusions not necessarily because they're so committed to their beliefs, but more so in fear of the ostracization they'll face if they do get one. A lot is at stake for them, after all. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens... scratch
