| I think he propably planned what he was going to say in advance, and then read it aloud. When the interviewer talks to him, he bounces straight back to the same bit of monologue. Some of his answers/statements are so lengthy that I doubt it would be possible to come up with them on the spot. _________________ I had it all and I looked at it and I said 'this is a bigger jail than I just got out of'.

| I think he had some sort of general plan what he was gonna say, remember he also wrote about Travis in length on the forums. He cared about that event a lot, thought a lot about it and thus his call was not spontaneous, but a pre-planned thing.
Was he reading from a text he wrote in advance? I did not get that impression after listening to his call. But I do think he was giving a speech he prepared in his head a long time before. _________________ Life is like a tram - you need to know when to get off.

| I don't think he was dumb, but I do think he was severely debilitated by his mental condition. Its one thing to be articulated in a phone call about a subject you know a lot about.
Being capable to run a day-by-day life and interacting in meaningful ways with society? Nope, that seems to have been entirely out of Adam's possibilities at the time. Could he have done much better if he received professional mental healthcare for the issues he actually suffered from? Possibly, we will never know for sure.
If there's one good thing that comes out of the Sandy Hook tragedy, its the spotlight given on mental healthcare and how badly people like Adam need help and assistance. _________________ Life is like a tram - you need to know when to get off.

IMO at least some of what he said was preplanned. I also agree that it was likely some of what he said was spontanious, because he probably drew from his Smiggles posts and his mass of knowledge on the subject. _________________ I had it all and I looked at it and I said 'this is a bigger jail than I just got out of'.

Why does it seem spontaneous? He speaks in monotone with a very small amount of pausing (except when being interupted by the radio presenter), and what he says is very indepth and full of extended vocab. I think that if it was not preplanned, he was at least repeating a lot of what was in his previous writings and Smiggles posts. _________________ I had it all and I looked at it and I said 'this is a bigger jail than I just got out of'.

| He has a very flat affect, there's almost no emotion in his voice, I think there was a couple times he found something he was talking about amusing. But overall it does sound like he's reading from a script, it's possible but I doubt it. If I talk about something I know a lot about, I'll get into a flow and the words will come out in a very articulate manner. Who knows with him, though. | |

Flact affect referes mostly to face-to-face expression of emotions. Sorry for nitpicking, no hard feelings _________________ Life is like a tram - you need to know when to get off.

Flact affect referes mostly to face-to-face expression of emotions. Sorry for nitpicking, no hard feelings At my job, we get some psych patients and we have to take notes for the Drs. The intonation of their voice is considered part of their overall affect. But yes, it is mostly facial expression or lack of. But no, no hard feelings. : ) | |
