AUM Sarin Attacks

AUM is a japanese science/spiritualism doomsday cult which was founded by Shoko Asahara, a half blind yoga guru who had visions of controlling the world whilst on LSD.

Im sorry guys but i spent an hour writing up a post on this group including its whole history but i accidentally erased it all beyond recovery and i am too fatigued to rewrite the complete overview of this group, i apologize for those interested in this groups history and may of never heard about it but i suggest you look at the "case study of Aum Shinrikyo" which explains the groups previous violent acts and attempts at mass murder.

I will be focusing on the two major most known events that the group commited including the Matsumoto Sarin Attack and the Tokyo subway sarin attacks which im sure you guys may have seen a zero hour episode on aswell as several assassinations of former members.

VX ASSASSINATIONS 4 DEAD ? INJURED

After several former members critiscised AUM, AUM sent out teams of assassins equipped with the Chemical weapon VX to assassinate the ex members, after spraying each victim with VX in public they each died.

MATSUMOTO ATTACKS 1994 7 DEAD 500 INJURED

During a case against AUM members pushed by a number of judges, AUM commited its first successful attack, On June 27 1994 AUM members armed with A custom Sarin Spray van, entered the complex where the judges were staying overnight and proceeded to release a cloud of the Nerve Gas Sarin into the complex which killed 7 (all of the judges) and injured 500, AUM got away with the attacks surprisingly and it was mistakenly blamed on a pesticide salesman who lived in the complex and was badly poisoned during the attack.

TOKYO SUBWAY SARIN ATTACKS 1995 13 DEAD 1000+ INJURED

After hearing from members within the military, AUM discovered that there facilities where their Chemical weapons labs were, were soon to be raided so they committed The subway attacks in an attempt to divert attention from the group but fortunately led to the arrest of its main leaders and the shutdown of the original AUM group.

On the 20th March 1995 5 Coordinated AUM cultists entered numerous subway stations which all headed straight into 1 central Tokyo station, each member boarded their trains towards the central station and at exactly the same time activated and left Sarin Gas Producing devices wrapped in newspaper on each train, after this they exited the train at the next station and each fled the scene via getaway drivers, the trains continued through numerous stations dispensing the oderless and colorless nerve agent onto many station platforms until they all reached the central, 100s of people began to react with violent seizures, vomiting blood and foaming from the mouth and the situation turned into a large scale emergency, 1000s of bio-hazard teams were sent in and Tokyo streets where crowded with hundreds of ambulances, The attack left 13 dead and and 1000+ injured with life altering poisoning.


The reason i thought i'd bring this up is it is the only Terrorist/Mass murder attack involving Chemical weapons and is very unusual and unconventional, the group also attempted numerous Biological Weapons attacks years before which all failed and also planned to spray Sarin over Tokyo using a Soviet military Helicopter acquired from the Russian army but the group was caught before anymore attacks could happen luckily.

Strangely the group still exists under another name and has its own website which is still recruiting members till this day which is very unnerving and this group definitely can be called one of the most dangerous Cults of all time.

I watched a documentary on you tube about them. I found about a couple of years ago. They were kind of interesting in that they were like a death cult and all apocalyptic. I heard the head cult leader even made an anime about himself.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Yes the AUM Shinrikyo recruitment tapes involved a well made fully funded Anime series, This group also had a political party which lost in the japanese 1990 elections, after the loss Asahara ordered an attack on the imperial palace where AUM members drove by the palace spraying weaponised botulism (biological weapon) at the palace, fortunately the attack failed due to the diluted cultivation quality of the bacteria

I hate how everyone knows about Heaven's Gate, but not a lot of people know about Aum. Aum did something more horrific and they're not very well known. They could've killed thousands if that sarin was pure. But no, a mass suicide is worse than a MASS MURDER.

Although you could say that the mass suicide could be mass murder, all the people who died were cultists who knew what was going to happen. No one survived and was scarred for life unlike Aum. Thousands of people have been poisoned and are now disabled or blind for example and they didn't know what was happening. They didn't know what they did wrong.
