Pacific Air Lines flight 773: On May 7, 1964, Francisco Paula Gonzales brought a revolver onto the aircraft, and as it neared its destination, he broke into the cockpit and shot both pilots, killing one and injuring the other. The co-pilot managed to call air traffic control and get the plane out of a dive, but Francisco shot and killed him. As the plane went into a dive, he shot himself. The resulting crash killed all 44 people on board.

Pacific Southwest Airlines flight 1771: David A. Burke, a terminated employee of PSA, decided to get revenge on his manager by bringing a revolver onto the aircraft he was on. During the flight, David wrote a message on a paper bag and loaded his revolver in the restroom. After exiting the bathroom, he shot his manager twice and shot a flight attendant when she informed the cockpit. He entered the cockpit and shot both pilots before putting the plane into a dive, resulting in the deaths of all 43 passengers.
