UNC Charlotte shooter reportedly inspired by Sandy Hook

The ex-student accused of shooting up the University of North Carolina-Charlotte was inspired by the Sandy Hook massacre, according to a report.

Trystan Terrell, 22, fully confessed to cops, telling them he carefully planned Tuesday’s attack and “researched” the 2012 Newtown, Conn., elementary school shooting at length, sources told WBTV.

The ex-UNCC student had been plotting some kind of an attack for months and considered three locations before landing on the college classroom, the outlet reported.

Terrell went to a shooting range to practice and had at least 10 magazines for his pistol when he was caught.

Last semester Terrell withdrew from all but one of his classes at the school. It was this Anthropology class that he decided to attack, according to the report.

The victims were chosen at random, the outlet said.

Two students, Ellis Parlier, 19, and Riley Howell, 21, were killed. Four others were injured.

It’s really surreal watching it all unfold.

It was the last day of school too, just like it was so close to graduation at CHS...it’s baffling.
