might have evened the odds. I don't know if you read but it seems the miners had no real way of defending themselves as they fled getting shot.

76 died in a fire (set presumably by Branch Davidians) however 4 ATF members were killed and 16 wounded in the fire fight during the 51 day siege.
I'd say they stood pretty good chances against superior fire power. Although we've seen that again and again historically. David and Goliath. I digress without getting into a huge gun debate.
