Their cars

A very trivial detail but how did they listen to music in their cars? Did they have CD players or did they have casette players? The reason I'm asking is because in the evidence taken from Dylans Beemer there are 2 cassettes that are found in the glove box.

Dylan's car was a 1982 bmw 320i and Eric's was a 1986 honda prelude.
while they did have cd's at the time their cars were made, they weren't as mainstream as cassettes or vinyls.
i don't think they had cd players in their cars, at least from the factory. they could have had an aftermarket system that had one.
their cars had radios, but that's a whole other can of worms
they most likely had cassette players, as you stated.

The cars would have cassette players from the factory. I guess they could have used a stereo to cassette adapter and linked a Discman to the car?

When the BMW came up for sale at some point, you can see in the picture of the interior that there is no radio. Just an empty hole where it should be and what looks like maybe wires.
