Most shooters who commit suicide would have done it in prison if they had been taken alive.

Martin Bryant attempted suicide twice inside prison.

While shooting in the town hall of Nanterre, France, Richard Durn was restrained by multiple people while shooting then got arrested. While in custody he jumped from the 4th floor while one of the cops wasn't looking.
He also screamed "Kill me! Kill me!" while being restrained and arrested.
