How many people did Ted Bundy truly kill?

Bundy was charged with thirty-three killings, but there were likely more, given his methods and for how long he got away with his crimes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he was only formally charged and convicted of 3 murders in his life- all in Florida. But the number most commonly attributed to him across the country is 36. Given his movements and the time frame, I'd say that is probably a pretty accurate number.

We will most likely never know. It will most likely remain a mystery.

There are 20 named victims and he claimed he killed 30. They found certain bodies only based on his last minute confession, so we can assume he was also telling the truth about the bodies they didn’t find.
