On March 11th, 2009, 17 year old former pupil Tim Kretschmer would use a Beretta 92FS handgun to kill 15 people and injure 9 others at the Albertville-Realschule secondary school in Winnenden, Germany, before carjacking a man, Igor Wolf, and demanding he take him to the nearby town of Wendlingen, where he would engage in a final shootout with police before killing himself, rising the toll to 16. It was the worst mass shooting in Germany since the 2002 Erfurt massacre, on April 26th, 2002.
