Again a mass shooting in the USA. There is reports of a Mass shooting at a university in Las Vegas, Nevada. So far it is known of multiple casualties. Prayers for everyone involved

I honestly expected more from whoever this guy was, although from what I've read It looks like a targeted shooting that turned into a mass one, or a very poorly planned attack.

I was guessing the shooter was a young person

I go to school here. I've had several classes in the BEH building before. An hour or so before the shooting I walked through that exact area. There was an event being held there in the SU quad (which is directly adjacent to the BEH building); tables had been set up, there was food being served. Someone had even gone through the effort of setting up some real, genuine arcade machines: mortal kombat, pac-man, the simpsons. I tried to play one but they were all filled up; I remember debating whether or not to stay and wait for one of them to open up, but I decided to get lunch first.
Had lunch at this cafe nearby, and started walking back to the quad. On my way I noticed this cop car cut across the traffic median and speed towards UNLV in the wrong traffic lane. I figured he was just impatient, thought he might have been on his way to lunch or something. Then I saw the crowd, and the police lights in the distance.

Hung around for a few minutes, called my mom and made sure she knew I was alright, and then I heard shouts that we had to go, we had to evacuate to a nearby parking lot. Me and the rest of the people, we started running, I holding up my sweatpants with one hand, carry bag slung on my side, regretting my decision to wear slip ons.

We stayed there for 10 or so minutes, huddled around, nervously fiddling with our phones and unassuredly glancing back and forth, before we noticed that the people across were waving at us. I looked closer at them, and I saw that they were gesturing rightwards, as if to tell us to move. Some started shouted, but we couldn't make out what they were saying until somebody, stern and loud (probably an unseen police officer?) shouted at us. "Across the street!" "Across the street!". At that we all started scurrying to get across, running across the asphalt and further on, as far as our legs could take us. I ended up at a T-shirt shop a short distance away, where I sheltered with a few other people from my school. After that came the waiting: checking twitter and the news for updates, pacing back and forth, sneaking glances out the windows. After a few hours my mom was able to pick me up.
I still haven't fully processed what has happened. I've studied school shootings for well over 7 years at this point, but (as cliche as it is) I never thought I would get so close to one. You never expect it to happen to your school I guess.

I'm alright. Ever since I left the scene I've been eerily calm about the whole thing - guess I still haven't fully processed it yet. The fact that the shooter was (apparently) only targeting faculty and not students may play a part in that.
Although it may seem in poor taste to say this, what I'm most concerned with right now is my finals; for us UNLV students, final exams are (were?) scheduled to take place from the 11th to the 15th (IE next week), with my exams specifically being on Monday and Tuesday. My original plan was to spend all of Thursday studying, but the shooting/subsequent evacuation put a stop to that.
School is closed until Dec 10, but the university hasn't said anything regarding finals week yet - they're supposed to give us an update tomorrow. I hope that they'll postpone things by a week so I can "get my bearings" and put myself in a studying frame of mind, but I'm not optimistic.

This is why we need to release shooting as a means of resolving any type of crime other than robbery or kidnapping. Furthermore, legalizing euthanasia as a means of resolving suicides will be a good situation too. 99.99% of these shooters are nothing more than useless empty psychopaths.

This guy was just another one of those people who got a college degree and then got bitter that a job wasn't being handed to him on a silver platter. He got nailed good by the police just about 10 minutes after he started shooting.
