Cho's "Short Fiction Paper"

Alongside Cho's known writings, "Mr. Brownstone" and "Richard McBeef", there is another assignment he submitted approximately a year prior to the V-Tech massacre which is in the Virginia State Police's possession. This mysterious class project has never been released to the public, and like Eric and Dylan's "Basement Tapes", I have a gut-feeling that these documents will eventually be destroyed.

My question is: What do you think the precise contents of this short fiction paper would have been? From what I can gather, the writing was based on a large-scale school shooting, akin to that of the 1999 Columbine shootings I would imagine. But knowing Cho's previous creative writings, the possibilities of exactly what happens in this story are countless.

I know the paper you speak of it was written in the fall of 2006.

Here is the quote of what is about

"Cho enrolls in a playwriting
workshop taught by Professor Ed Falco. Cho
writes a play concerning a young man who
hates the students at his school and plans to
kill them and himself. The writing contains
parallels to the subsequent events of April
16, 2007, as well as the recorded messages
sent to NBC that same day. "

This is in chapter 4 which deals which deals with cho mental illness page 82.

"Professor Hicok shared none of Cho’s writings
with the panel. However, based on a question
to a panel member by a reporter, further inquiry
was made as this report was about to go
to press. Several writings by Cho in Hicok’s
class were produced, one of which is of particular
significance. It tells the story of a
morning in the life of Bud “who gets out of bed
unusually early…puts on his black jeans, a
strappy black vest with many pockets, a black
hat, a large dark sunglasses [sic] and a flimsy
jacket….” At school he observes “students
strut inside smiling, laughing, embracing each
other….A few eyes glance at Bud but without
the glint of recognition. I hate this! I hate all
these frauds! I hate my life….This is it….This
is when you damn people die with me.…” He
enters the nearly empty halls “and goes to an
arbitrary classroom….” Inside “(e)veryone is
smiling and laughing as if they’re in heavenon-earth,
something magical and enchanting
about all the people’s intrinsic nature that
Bud will never experience.” He breaks away
and runs to the bathroom “I can’t do this.…I
have no moral right.…” The story continues by
relating that he is approached by a “gothic
girl.” He tells her “I’m nothing. I’m a loser. I
can’t do anything. I was going to kill every god
damn person in this damn school, swear to
god I was, but I…couldn’t. I just couldn’t.
Damn it I hate myself!” He and the “gothic
girl” drive to her home in a stolen car. “If I get
stopped by a cop my life will be forever over. A
stolen car, two hand guns, and a sawed off
shotgun.” At her house, she
retrieves “a .8 caliber automatic rifle and a
M16 machine gun.” The story concludes with
the line “You and me. We can fight to claim
our deserving throne.”

Creepy romance-suicide fantasy. Dylan Klebold claled, he wants his hat back.

Cho's writings fascinate me. Wouldn't you agree? His creativity and divine, fictitious elegance are truly empowering. Reading his stories motivates me to write up something, a story detailing my outlook on aspects of my life. RIP 1984 - 2007.

There is no title; the header just reads "Seung Cho / 12484 / Story 2."

I searched for text samples from the story online, and no results were found; so the above site appears to be the only place you can find it.

Is the story I linked to the same one? It's about a planned school shooting. In one line of dialogue, the main character, Bud, explicitly states: "I was going to kill every god damn person in this damn school, swear to god I was, but I... couldn't."

I meant the one where he said that he would "repeat Columbine" in a class report.

I think it might of been just a fantasy story he wrote out.
