Allen Ivanov- Teenage House Party Shooting

Allen Ivanov, 19, shot and killed 3 people at a house party because he was angry that his ex-girlfriend and "dream girl" Anna Bui was now seeing another guy.

He purchased a Ruger brand AR-15 and posted a picture on Instagram saying "You can't run with me "

He bought it because it was a "symbol of power." He also apparently texted an acquaintance in another state about "committing a mass shooting" a few days before.

He had hoped to get back together with the girl that night but when he saw her with another guy at the party, he went back to his car and read the manual for the AR-15. He loaded the gun, walked back toward the house and and when someone saw him with the gun, Ivanov shot at him. He decided there was no going back at that point. He walked into the party where he shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and two other males. He shot at two more people from a balcony and when he realized that his rifle was empty, he fled back to his car. The police caught up with him 100 miles away.

I feel like someone should have noticed this was about to happen.

From Tumblr: "Supposed goodbye letter found in the room of triple murderer Allen Christopher Ivanov of Washington. It’s not clear when the letter was written. His parents handed it over to his defense attorney, who then handed it over to law enforcement. The letter seems to suggest premeditation and that Ivanov may be a danger to himself."

This poor guy....such potential for a future. But he's obviously mildy off in the head or depressed.
Does this behaviour sound familiar to anyone?

This guy is a sad case.

his instagram is still up and public - not sure if I can link here. He's such a good looking guy and he seemed to live a pretty good life.

I'm not sure I believe the sources saying that it wasn't premeditated and that he arrived at the party with no intention of committing a shooting until seeing his 'dream girl' with another guy. It just seems too thought out with the purchase of the gun just a few weeks prior and his instagram account looks to be full of hints of his plans with the picture of the Ruger and 3 bullets next to it.

Yeah, it's odd. And as ultraviolencelv posted above, he wrote a "goodbye letter" sometime in the recent past.

Or maybe his plan was to commit suicide publicly or threaten to commit suicide in an attempt to get the girl to come back to him but when he saw her with another guy, his plans changed. He seems a little bit dramatic. This guy was only a little bit older than Eric and Dylan so his teenage hormones were probably not helping him make good choices.

ditto. He seemed to have a stable life, he went to college, he worked at an Apple store, he's not bad looking, I mean, there's got to be sth going on in is head or some form of childhood trauma. It's no excuse that he said the girl was the first girl he ever kissed, first love or whatever - dude you gotta man up and move on.

I think I agree that he was being dramatic and hinting @ suicide until he saw the girl moving on and pictures of her at parties and he got bitter and had to take her out.

Zero planing. Its hard to not compare shootings with Columbine. But there seemed to be zero planning and a lot of flash rage. The people he killed also seemed targeted and singled out. Eric and Dylan wanted to blow a hole in the school killing whoever. And Eric wanted to just wipe Colorado off the map but he knew that was impossible.

His case is literally that of a broken heart. He threw his entire life down the drain because he was willing to kill his ex gf and another friend or two.
I think he had mild depression? Is it possible that he was sane teenager of today who couldn't deal with a broken heart and thought to shoot the one he loved?

I must say that's a fine weapon. I would love to have one in my collection.
