| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Today marks the 15th anniversary of the tragedy that happened on September 11 2001 in New York. This thread and acknowledgement is in rememberance to the victims that died that day and for sending thoughts and condolences to their families and their friends. It was a day that changed America and the world gradually and it was an event that changed the way we witness live tragedy captured on TV. If you are willing, let's talk abit about how old we were on 9/11, what did you see and what did you learn when it happen? Has 9/11 affected you greatly? Lots of love on this day and never forget. _________________ Will you remain my fire in this temporary paradise?

| I'll be vague about my age, yes I was pretty young and I remember when my parents switched the channel to CNN and what we witnessed was what's left of the second tower because the first tower had already collapsed. I remember not understanding what happened when my dad was freaking out about the building being gone. Just chaos over the news, I was young so I don't think I understood the magnitude of the situation just yet, until the next few days when the pictures came out on the newspaper, and more and more on the papers the following days. I would talk about it with my friends in school and eventually I remember drawing the people that jumped off the building. I know, pretty warped. _________________ Will you remain my fire in this temporary paradise?

| I was in the third grade when it happened. I remember getting the newspaper for my mom. I think it was a tuesday because i was looking forward to going to my friends house and playing SNES (we did this every tuesday) I took the newspaper into my mom and she got sick. I didnt understand. I was pissed that I wasnt going to see my friend that day and even more pissed i wasnt going to play his SNES.
This reaction is kinda crazy but I think that shows how young I was. And how selfish i was at that age.
We went to school and watched it on TV. I dont remember anything else.
I think drawing the people jumping from the buildings isnt warped at all. We get handed some info and then we either ignore it or try to digest it. | |

| I'm not American (from Australia) but it was 24/7 news where I live. At the time I was only 11 so I was originally angry because my morning cartoons weren't on like they usually were (its actually a bit of a meme now in the country, where 9/11 was known mostly by the youth back then as the day our morning cartoons were not on). Everyone spoke about it at school, teachers were frightened. For all we know it could have been the start of WW3. It was absolutely massive. | |

| I was young and I remember it vividly. Nobody knew exactly what was going on at first. I don't like to think of the people being forced to jump to their deaths or to burn up. Sad ,sad dress. Rest in peace to all who died.

| I was at work at a call center. I only received 2 calls that entire day with normal rate of calls for a day being around 200 - 250. The office manager kept us informed and I was surprised to see on my way home that gasoline had jumped $5.00 a gallon during the day. It was a very sad day with so much uncertainty about what would happen next. To all that died that day rest in peace and we will never forget. | |

| I was 13. I was supposed to be in school but I had stayed home that day "sick". My mom was there with me and we were watching TV when the news broke out. I was immature and so upset that this was interrupting my shows.
I was not quite mature enough to understand what was going on right away. When I finally did I was so upset and could hardly believe it. _________________ Hold me now I need to feel complete Like I matter to the one I need

| I know that this is an old thread. It's just that 9/11 fascinates me so much, far more than Columbine. It's just so gigantic, insane, and bizarre. |

| Remember that the 4th plane was going to be crashed into the congress building, if it had happened, they would have to build a new congress. |

| I was in 3rd grade, I remember coming home from school and my Mom wouldn't let me watch T.V so I went outside to play (I grew up not too far from the crash site of United Airlines Flight 93) So she told me not to play outside. I was like, then what do you want me to do? At that age your entertainment options are pretty limited. | |
