All the young victims are old enough to have had their own children in school now.

Yea it’s heart breaking. Steven Curnow the youngest would have turned 35 this summer. He was only 14 when he died.

Steven always gets me. He was just so young. Granted, some of the other victims were only 3 or 4 years older. But 14 is way different than 18. I can't really put it into words that make any sense right now. (Tired from so many college essays)
The way my schools were set up, at 14 I was still in middle school. It's weird for me to even imagine a 14 year old in high school.

My birthday is in July. The JeffCo school cutoff is in September. I would have been 14 as a freshman, !5 as a sophomore, 16 as a junior and 17 as a senior tuning 18 after graduation. Dylan was like that. However I was held back and repeated a grade in elementary school so I was 15 , 16, 17 and 18 respectively like Brooks and Rachel, they should have been class of 1998 and 1999 respectively but werent for whatever reasons. Colorado schools are super flexible in that regard.

That’s how my school was too. My birthday is in October and I started school early. My mom Tells me it wasn’t because I was brilliant, but I disagree JK
So I was 13 when I started HS like Dylan then turned 14 in October.

My birthday is also in October!
For my school with most students: freshmen were 15, sophomores were 16, juniors were 17, and most seniors were 18. There we a few people who started early, but most people who were 14 were in middle school. I was held back for a year by my mother because she didn't want me to be the youngest in the class, so it turns out I was always the oldest in the class.

Watching Lauren's mom speak was really powerful.
