I came upon an old thread on this board and someone mentioned Dylan's story he wrote, the one that his teacher was concerned about and that his mom read a while after the massacre. I had always assumed that the Man in Black was Dylan of course and someone said the observer may have been Dylan too, which is interesting.

HOWEVER, someone joked and said "they little mouthy guy may have been Eric" that got me thinking, and that gives their friendship even more of a dark feeling. The Man in Black kills the little mouthy guy last, after the massacre and drives steel knuckles into his skull.

If he did symbolize Eric it's kind of sad in a way. He was a means to an end to Dylan's plan. Eric thought of Dylan has his best friend and while according to classmates they were inseparable, I THINK in his diversion notes he said he had 4 really close friends (considered Nate and Zach as very close) and Eric only had Dylan.

The smallest one in the group was the "little mouthy guy" you are referring to.

He was part of the football/prep group that got killed in that story. Of course, we know he got killed last.

I don't believe Dylan saw Eric as that 'guy' in that story.

I don't believe it either, it was something I thought of when I read the comments.... it makes me think of the people who believe Eric killed Dylan, well why not reverse that if you think that could happen, maybe Dylan snapped a tether enough to shoot his best friend. I know he didn't, evidence and all, it's just an AU type of thought. Like when we talk about his Dylan's dad got to talk to him in the school that day.
