| I'd never seen this before. It's taken from a website [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] created on April 21st 1999 by someone called Dave Navarro. I don't have any other source for this information and there's no way of knowing if it's legitimate. If it was written by Eric Harris then what was meant by '12Skiztocq' and what was to happen on April 26th? If this has already been covered I'd appreciate any links or sources. - Quote :

Your children who have ridiculed me, who have chosen not to accept me, who have treated me like I am not worth their time are dead. THEY ARE (expletive) DEAD. I may have taken their lives and my own - but it was your doing. Teachers, parents, LET THIS MASSACRE BE ON YOUR SHOULDERS UNTIL THE DAY YOU DIE.
You may think the horror ends with the bullet in my head, but you wouldn’t be so lucky. All that I can leave you with to decipher what more extensive death is to come is ’12Skiztocq.’ You have until April 26th. Goodbye.

| Well, if it's a hoax as you say, it was most likely one done way back when in 1999 or early 2000s judging purely on the basis of the web design, it's like decades old wallpaper. | |

| UPDATE: I've found a news report quoting this apparent note by Eric Harris. It seems to have been written and signed by Eric Harris and sent to investigators by email according to the article. It doesn't seem to be a hoax to me anymore, but surely someone has come across this before. I'm just surprised I don't remember reading about this. Is it part of the 11k document? Someone should save this webpage before it gets lost. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Police ponder threat in apparent suicide note - By John Hendren, Associated Press writer wrote:
- LITTLETON, Colo. -- Authorities investigating the rampage at Columbine High School expressed fears yesterday that an apparent suicide note from one teen-age gunman was also a threat -- and that more violence was yet to come.
As tearful mourners penned their goodbyes on the white casket of one victim, police reported they had received an e-mail on Thursday or Friday containing a note that may have been written by Eric Harris.
“We’re very concerned,” said Jefferson County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Davis. “We have to be, in light of what happened. We absolutely have to take any threat as something that could be genuine.”
Investigators had not confirmed the note’s authenticity or the identify of the person who sent the e-mail. But Davis said “We don’t believe it’s a hoax.”
The profanity-laced note was signed by Harris and dated the day before he and Dylan Klebold gunned down 12 students and a teacher at Columbine High School before taking their own lives, the Rocky Mountain News reported yesterday. The paper printed the full text of the note.
After blaming the slaughter on parents, teachers and the students who ridiculed and refused to accept him, the note’s author warns of more bloodshed.
“You may think the horror ends with the bullet in my head, but you wouldn’t be so lucky. All that I can leave you with to decipher what more extensive death is to come is ’12Skizto.′ You have until April 26th. Goodbye.”
Davis said investigators were trying to determine the meaning of “12Skizto.”
Meanwhile, as a weekend of services began, mourners filed into the Trinity Christian Center, a mile south of Columbine High, to write comments in black felt pen on the casket of Rachel Scott, a 17-year-old actress in school plays who aspired to be a missionary. Friends said she was killed outside the school, one of the first to be shot.
Heidi Johnson, a friend of Miss Scott’s since fourth grade, wiped tears as she kneeled and wrote on the casket, “Rachel, I’m so proud of you! I will miss you dearly. You were truly one of my true best friends and I love you from the bottom of my heart.”
Other messages said, “See you in Heaven,” “You are my hero,” and “You always brought a smile to my face.”
Her father wrote simply “I love you. Dad. Forever.”
The casket-signing came before the funeral for Miss Scott, the first of several local weekend services expected to draw students, teachers and politicians, including Vice President Al Gore.
Police have interviewed hundreds of witnesses and collected 2,000 pieces of evidence, down to the smallest scraps of metal at the school, in the search not only for a motive but to determine whether Harris and Klebold had accomplices, before or during the shootings.
Students and police had described one gunman wearing a white T-shirt, while witnesses also spoke of two gunmen in dark dusters. But the body of one of the gunmen did not have his trench coat on.
“It’s very possible, we’re thinking now, that maybe the trench coat was shed at some point,” said Davis. “Now ... maybe we’re back to two suspects instead of the white-shirt third suspect.”
But later Davis said that “the chances are even increasing” of “further involvement” by others. He refused to give details, saying, “We have to be very, very careful at this point of what we release.”
No arrests have been made and no other suspects beyond the dead gunmen have been identified.
While Davis wouldn’t discuss the question of motive, hints emerged in the purported suicide note and in a newspaper interview with a member of the same clique of trench coat-clad outsiders -- called the Trenchcoat Mafia -- in which the gunmen belonged.
The note begins, ” now, it’s over. If you are reading this, my mission is complete.”
“I have finished revolutionizing the neoeuphoric infliction of my internal terror,” it says. “Your children who have ridaculed (sic) me, who have chosen not to accept me, who have treated me like I am not worth their time are dead,” it says. “THEY ARE (expletive) DEAD.”
The note warns against blaming the killing “on the clothes I wear, the music I listen to, or the way I choose to present myself.”
“Do not hide behind my choices,” it says. “You need to face that that fact this comes as a result of YOUR CHOICES. Parents and Teachers, YOU (expletive) UP. You have taught these kids to be gears and sheep. To think and act like those who came before them, to not accept what is different.”
It says, “I may have taken their lives and my own -- but it was your doing,” the note says. “Teachers, parents, LET THIS MASSACRE BE ON YOUR SHOULDERS UNTIL THE DAY YOU DIE.”
In an interview with The Denver Post, a member of the Trenchcoat Mafia who knew the gunmen, described life for members of his group as “hell ... pure hell.” He said that athletes at the school called him “faggot,” bashed him into lockers and threw rocks at him .
“I can’t describe how hard it was to get up in the morning and face that,” the 18-year-old, demanding anonymity, told the paper. But he said he did not know of his friends’ violent plans. “I’m not saying what they did was OK,” he said. “But I know what it’s like to be cornered, pushed day after day.”

| I had a feeling given the lack of discussion that it might have been debunked already. I appreciate you letting me know. | |
