The real issue with the "Red Flag" system seems to be trying to tell the difference between super edgy teenage angst, and someone who is a legit threat to themselves and others.

I think that maybe if we started taking it all with the same level of seriousness we'd see less and less of these problems. How many edgy teenagers out there are there that aren't suffering in some way at least a little bit? They're trying to compensate for something clearly.

Ethan Miller and Elliot Rodger literally openly said they would do a mass shooting online and nobody cared at the time.
