Not a hostage situation, but you know, like a Active Shooter Situation. |

| The Orlando shooting went on for 3+ hours, but the evolved into a hostage situation so it might not count.

| the Winnenden shooting lasted 3 and half hours but I'm pretty sure most of that comprised of Tim Kretschmer travelling between Winnenden and Wendlingen.

| Hungerford for lasted for ca 6 hours and 22 minutes.
Port Arthur lasted for ca 20 hours and 15 minutes.

The actual shooting period of Hungerford only lasted around 1 and a half hours from circa 12:30 PM with the murder of Susan Godfrey and around 1:30 - 2 PM when Michael shot his last two victims; killing Ian Playe and injuring George Noon. The rest of that time was Michael hiding out at his old secondary school while the police were looking for him until his eventual suicide. | |

| While not as long as the other shootings on this list, Columbine lasted for almost an hour.
