Personally, I feel Sandy hook was horrifying. I mean children were murdered and their families never got to say goodbye

None was especially horrifying on an emotional level. Sandy Hook probably stands out more then the rest for me. It is because the shooter was part of the forums, I know he read our posts. My posts.

That hit closer to home than the rest.

It's not a SCHOOL shooting, but probably the Tsuyama massacre, due to Toi targetting people's homes. Imagine sleeping at night and then a crazy murderer with a shotgun breaks in and shoots you and your family. According to the movie Village of Doom (which was based on his massacre, and is apparently very accurate) he appears to have actually messed with some of his victims before shooting them, similarly to Columbine, and if that really did happen in real life that makes it even worse.

Sandy Hook and I recently learned more about the shooting at the engineering school in Quebec and that was absolutely horrifying to me.

I know we have had discussions about it but the Sandy Hook shooting will always be the most horrifying because it was a 20 something year old killing 6 year olds...

Yes! That’s the one. It just sounded like it lasted so long and he was targeting a specific type of person etc...

The 2017 Las Vegas shooting was the only attack to generate nausea in my abdominal area.

Stoneman Douglas, only because there had been so many before and the kids knew what was coming, which I think made it scarier

on another note, I think Utøya was definitely the scariest shooting of all. Being a kid trapped in an island filled with other kids, with a random man shooting at everyone with such a cool and calm demeanor must've ben very terrifying.

Sandy Hook, without a doubt.

I remember waking up that day. For me, it was just another day. I was groggy but excited for the UFC fights coming up. And so I checked Facebook (I know, I know, booooo but anyways) and there was the usual news headline: There's been a shooting at a Connecticut school or something of that sort and my eyes kinda skimmed over it. Oh okay. I'm desensitized to it by then and I have Aspergers, that's my only defense for that reaction in hindsight.

And then I see that something like twenty of the victims are kids ages six to seven. I felt like I'd been socked in the gut, literally I physically felt all the wind go out of me and my stomach sank in this really sickening way I'd never felt before and haven't since. And then I see that the guy is my exact age, born two days after me, has Aspergers... all this stuff just hitting me over and over like stab wounds as the story develops.

It really sucked. I think that changed my life for the better because I.. won't go into details but I was and kind of still am a lot like Adam. And it's really eerie for me tbh. It was more than horrifying.

I was in 5th grade when Sandy Hook happened, I saw the headline on Yahoo which was my family computers home page and I remember feeling kinda shocked, and feeling bad for those kids, at first I hated Adam Lanza, but the more I learn about him on his views on civilization, the more I kinda understand him and research more about his life

My seventh birthday was two days before Columbine, but I don't remember much about it besides a sudden uptick in 'gun safety' videos we had to watch, we had transparent backpacks, we had to keep our shirts tucked so we couldn't conceal weapons in our waistbands, etc etc.

Huh, I guess Stoneman Douglas wasn't the first school to do that after a shooting.

Sandy Hook for several reasons:

1. The high number of casualties.
2. Documents released describe the crime scene detailedly.
3. There are so many mysteries regarding this shooting like the motive, what was on the shooters hard drive and so on .
4. Do I need to mention that a massacre happening at an elementary school is a reason enough?

I would have to say Dunblane as it was little children that got shot and that it happened in a country that has never had a School shooting or a mass shooting (apart from Hungerford).

I also think it's horrifying that it could of been easily prevented.

Sandy Hook, Just the thought someone running into a room of children, followed by what seems like neverending deafning gunshots and children screaming. quite a disturbing shooting considering how quick it happened and the sheer volume of dead children.

Or Dunblane, a Malevolent pedophile who guns down and executes children in a school gym with hollow points and Full metal jackets to get back at Society for not allowing him to host scout groups and "boys clubs". Dunblane is one of the more creepy and morbid massacres out there.

Sandy Hook for obvious reasons.

I’d say the Las Vegas shooting. Just imagine being at that concert and not knowing where the gunfire is coming from. That would be extremely terrifying. It’s not a school shooting but in terms of mass shootings, I’d say that’s the scariest. Scariest school shooting would be Sandy Hook because of all the little kids being killed.

The most horrifying school shooting is Dunblane in my opinion. 15/17 of Hamilton's dead victims were five year olds, with the other two being a six year old and the teacher. He has the youngest targeting of any mass shooter I can recall. Damiao Santos and Kim Gelder did go after younger age groups, but they aren't mass shooters.
Watching the video of the Madden tournament shooting was the only time where I actually felt nauseous and had a bunch of adrenaline going through me. It felt like I was actually there.
Francisco Gonzales and David Burke shot up cockpits, resulting in everyone on those flights dying.

The Luxor Massacre was pretty awful. Dozens of tourists who were just trying to have a good time visiting some old temple were trapped inside and systematically executed before having their corpses mutilated by machetes; the attackers even went as far as disemboweling one victim before placing a note in their abdominal cavity. The attack was so horrific that it totally destroyed public support for Islamist terror groups in Egypt.

the UT shooting, with the Whitman guy. The one thing that got me the most was the lady losing her baby from Whitman shooting her in her side and someone yelling at them while she and her boyfriend, wounded and dead laying on the ground thinking they were protesting.

Sandy Hook cos the children were 5-6 years old and Adam was so terrifying looking.

Probably the New Zealand shooting, not just because of the video but because of how he did it, constantly shooting corpses, how the Muslim welcomed him before getting shot, his manifesto, the fact that people support him etc. Everything's just messed up.

I cannot pick one but here are those I find the most horrifying (in no order):

-Bataclan shooting: I guess it is because I am French but this shooting really traumatized me and everyone. People were trapped in such a small and crowded place and couldn't really hide except under corpses. The details told in Netflix series are awful. Since then I feel safe in no crowded/tourist place. Also because three people who died during the Paris November attacks were in my university and I had to see their pictures everyday for two weeks after the attacks.
This shooting is the only "horrifying" one that I lived, not because I was there but because I was aware of what happened and watched the news. For all the others I was either not born, too young or didn't really care at the time. And when it happens in your own country, and especially in a place where you could have been, and even have been changes everything.

-Ecole Polytechnique shooting, especially when he went into the class and asked girls and boys to seperate, and you didn't know if you were in the right group until he told boys to leave the room. The movie is great.

-Las Vegas shooting: because victims were so vulnerable, had no place to hide quickly and didn't know where it was shooting from. Also because the weapons were almost automatic, and it makes it more scarier to me.

-Sandy Hook and the Cologne School Massacre: for obvious reasons, although I find the Cologne Massacre (not a shooting though) even more horrifying because these poor kids died in the most painful way. And no kid died on the day of the massacre, but after, up to 19 days for one. It was awful for the parents.

Sandy Hook definitely, it's just the age of the victims, the time it happened, and the way they were shot at- it's just all fucked up and I just wish AL could've been helped sooner. Like... the victims were mostly first graders, it's just so disturbing and sad. No other shooting except for Parkland and maybe Columbine briefly made me feel like what I felt when reading about Sandy Hook.

Probably just me but the Kauhajoki school shooting. Matti's peers didn't really have a chance and witnesses said he was very aggressive. It just scares me thinking about it.

Sandy Hook, saw it on the news on the same day or the day after.

The Christchurch Mosque shooting. The fact it was all recorded makes it very horrifying.

The main scary thing about shootings is the death toll. By comparison, everything about stabbings is chilling.
If you get slashed, you're in agony but will probably survive. If you get stabbed deep, you often times only feel a coldness, not pain, and might only notice you're injured until after you've lost a lot of blood. Someone going at you with a gun is scary, but a melee weapon is instinctually terrifying, especially considering some victims get stabbed in the eye.
In terms of specific attacks, I'd say the 2021 Pro-Childhood Aquarela stabbing and the 2010 Weifang attack (targeted a preschool, used hammers, and self-immolated, maybe after trying to take kids with him in his final blaze.) Anyone can do a shooting, but that takes a special kind of messed up individual.

Personally I would say Virginia Tech.

The fact that I've been to VA tech, how many people died that day, the way Cho carried out his massacre, and knowing he only had two pistols.

My mother used to work with two people who were attending Virginia Tech at the time of the shooting and I've heard stories, I couldn't imagine facing Cho. I've also seen several videos of eyewitnesses and they described how Cho would go down the rows shooting, and would kill almost everyone. Even the animation is haunting.

When I visited the Virginia Tech memorial it felt so dark, I didn't want to be there for long.

Cho is one of the mass shooters I have a hard time researching and I've had a lot of nightmares about.

Cologne School Shooting - Walter Seifurt attacked the school with a flamethrower, with some of his victims having burns to over 90% of their body.
