Multiple shooting victims in Clay County, Tennessee

RED BOILING SPRINGS, Tenn. --

Authorities are searching for a white man wearing camouflage who may be connected to a multiple shooting Monday morning.

Residents in the areas of North Fork Road and Crabtree Creek Road are asked to stay in place.

The search is in connection to multiple victims shot at a home Monday morning. A Hermitage Spring School bus driver pulled up to the home and someone came out asking for help.

The school bus driver rendered aid to a victim. All Clay County Schools are on a soft lockdown.

Three medical helicopters have landed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. One patient went to the children's hospital and two others went to the adult hospital.

There's no word on the number of patients or their conditions.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is responding to the scene.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is headed to Clay County for an "incident" at least one school is on lockdown.

TBI confirmed they were headed to the incident Monday morning, but would not specify the nature of the incident,

Clay County High School confirmed its on lockdown, but would not give a reason.

CLAY COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was called in to investigate after an early morning shooting left a child and two adults seriously injured.

According to the agency, a bus driver in Whitleyville went to pick up two girls from the home early Monday morning. That’s when he discovered an injured woman and an uninjured child waiting at the stop. The pair jumped on the bus and were driven to the Mount Vernon Fire Department.

When police responded to the home where the shooting occurred they found another man injured and a dead child.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

State authorities said the suspect was taken into custody around 11 a.m. by a K-9 officer. He had reportedly been staying with the family at the time.

The injured victims were taken to a hospital in Nashville for treatment. Clay County is northeast of Nashville.
