If that is the case this shooting in Denmark had more deaths than the school shooting by Flemming Nielsen in 1994. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]This shooting happened in 2015 and I remember it being aired none stop on the news, the gunman was at large for almost 14 hours and had multiple shootings in that time frame.

Yeah but it is a spree shooting then, not a mass shooting. I don't know if the OP makes that distinction though. |

Isn´t a spree shooting where the gunman shoots people at different locations e.g. Elliot Rodger? And that can either be called a spree shooting or a rampage shooting right where as a mass shooting is shooting many people at one location?

You're right, a spree shooting is when someone shoots at people at different locations but in a relatively small time period, while a mass shooting is when a shooter shoots at at least 4 people (I think) in the same place and at the same moment. But I'm not a specialist either, and I think the number of victims required for a shooting to be called a "mass shooting" has changed recently. |

And as for mass shooting I believe there just need to be at least 3 people shot for it too be a mass shooting but as you said they have changed that before so I am not sure now but definitely between 3-4 shot.

But a spree shooting and rampage shooting is still the same thing right? I don't know, according to wikipedia "a rampage involves the (attempted) killing of multiple persons at least partly in public space by a single physically present perpetrator using (potentially) deadly weapons in a single event without any cooling-off period." But it is hard to know, what is a cooling-off period? Is an hour already a cooling-off period? Depending on this, both mass shootings and spree-killings could be considered rampage. |
