Will Beck friends with Daniel Mauser?

In this article Will Beck says he was friends with Daniel Mauser. I’ve never heard that before. Not in all the articles, interviews and books Tom Mauser had and wrote and also I’ve never heard it from other people.

Could it be that some people quickly call others 'a friend' when in fact it is just a schoolmate who you occasionally see at school but never after of school?

Anyone know if this is true?

Yes, Beck and Mauser were friends
On pg. 691 of one of Beck's statements to police he said that he had been in the cafeteria that morning at around 7:20 am with Mauser and saw nothing suspicious in there at that time.
