Additional CCTV cameras were placed near the library hallway, science hallway, and administration office, but these cameras were only set to record after school hours. From Andrew Marton's witness report, 11k pg. 000995. (Was with Niel Gardner during the incident) - Quote :

Marton said there are timers on the surveillance cameras that started at 1700 hours, through 0600 hours. Fri Jan 06, 2023 2:56 pm | Even having a specific topic for Pekka here on the forum, I saw that it was necessary to make another one, specifically for his manifesto, since apparently, it was extremely misunderstood. in this article, I will explain the manifesto, point by point, in order to make the final definition about it and show it as one of the most realistic intellectual works in existence. Event: Jokela High School Massacre.
Targets: Jokelan Lukio (High School Of Jokela), students and faculty, society, humanity, human race.
Date: 11/7/2007.
Attack Type: Mass murder, political terrorism (altough I choosed the school as target, my motives for the attack are political and much much deeper and therefore I don’t want this to be called only as “school shooting”).
Location: Jokela, Tuusula, Finland.
Perpetrator’s name: Pekka-Eric Auvinen (aka NaturalSelector89, Natural Selector, Sturmgeist89 and Sturmgeist). I also use pseydonym Eric von Auffoin internationally.
Weapons: Semi-automatic .22 Sig Sauer Mosquito pistol.This point is extremely important. here, Pekka himself states that his targets are students, teachers and society. obviously there is a natural revenge for everything that has happened over the years, but we see that this is not necessarily the key point, the principle. the principle, as mentioned, is war against civilization. Pekka wanted to shock society, through an act of political revolution, accomplished with this attack. that's why he doesn't establish himself as a "school shooter", which proves once and for all that bullying and retaliation were not the main reason, as was so often said, nor that he was a repeater of the others, or a columbiner or those things. It is interesting to note that numerous political leaders of the 20th and 21st centuries also carried out similar acts with the same objective, such as Nelson Mandela in South Africa, where he blew up playgrounds during apartheid and was sentenced to life imprisonment for this. It is also interesting to observe that the first school attack in the United States, in the 18th century, has the same motivation, the war against civilization. What do I hate / What I don’t like?

What do I love / what do I like?
Existentialism, self-awareness, freedom, justice, truth, moral & political philosophy, personal & social psychology, evolution science, political incorrectness, guns, shooting, BDSM, computers, internet, aggressive electronic and industrial rock & metal music, violent movies, , FPS –computer games, sarcasm, irony, black humour, macabre artm mass & serial killer cases, natural disasters, eugenicsPekka demonstrates her personality in this part. it cannot be said that Pekka is an ordinary person. not! Pekka has an untaught personality, not dominated by social values. Pekka in this part proves to be the personification of the original man, without dogmatism, values, limits or social needs. historically, Pekka can be considered a modern day barbarian. It is, however, interesting to observe that this personality is the objective of countless thinkers, mainly from the East, who have always emphasized the return to the primordial, the human essence per se, spontaneity and personal concepts. Pekka is the personification of this, the full manifestation of the free man, in continuous struggle with the prevailing form of domination, which is civilization, which is obviously a distortion of the real human organization that are the tribes. true human values, born from interaction with the environment and not from the needs of social self-preservation, are also in Pekka, demonstrated with his statements in favor of violence, hierarchy and independence.
How Did Natural Selection Turn Into Idiocratic Selection?
Today the process of natural selection is totally misguided. It has reversed. Human race has been devolving very long time for now. Retarded and stupid , weak-minded people are reproducing more and faster than the intelligent, strong-minded people. Laws protect the retarded majority which selects the leaders of society. Modern human race has not only betrayed its ancestors, but the future generations too. Homo Sapiens, HAH! It is more like a Homo Idioticus to me! When I look at people I see every day in society, school and everywhere… I can’t say I belong to same race as the lousy, miserable, arrogant, selfish human race! No! I have evolved one step above!
Naturality has been discriminated through religions, ideologies, laws and other mass delusion systems. Individual, who is going through his/hers natural power process and trying to live naturally, but is being told that the way he acts or thinks is wrong and stupid, will usually have some reactions which might be considered as “psychological disorders” by the establishment. In reality they are just natural reactions to the disruption of natural power process. They will have some of the following (depending on individual’s personality): feelings of inferiority / superiority, hostility, aggression, frustration, depression, self-hatred / hatred towards other people, suicidal / homicidal thought etc… and it is completely normal.
Humans are just a species among other animals and world does not exist only for humans. Death and killing is not a tragedy, it happens in nature all the time between all species. Not all human lives are important or worth saving. Only superior (intelligent, self-aware, strong-minded) individuals should survive while inferior (stupid, retarded, weak-minded masses) should perish.
There is also another solution to the problem: stupid people as slaves and intelligent people as free. What I mean is that they who have free minds, are capable of intelligent existential and philosophical thinking and know what justice is, should be free and rulers… and the robotic masses, they can be slaves since they do not mind it now either and because their minds are on so retarded level. The gangsters that now rule societies, would of course get what they deserve.
Of course there is a final solution too: death of entire human race. It would solve every problem of humanity. The faster human race is wiped out from this planet, the better… no one should be left alive. I have no mercy for the scum of earth, the pathetic human race.
Collective Deindividualization: Totalitarianism & Delusions Of Democracy
Collective deindividualization is a phenomenon where individual will be trained as part of the mindless herd controlled by state, corporation, church or some other organization, group, ideology, religion or mass delusion system and adopt it’s rules, morality and codes of conduct. This phenomenon has been familiar in all despotic, authoritarian, totalitarian, monarchist, communist, socialist, nazi, fascist and religious societies troughout history. Also, the modern western democratic republics have the same phenomenon. It is just done so that people will think they are free and don’t realize they are being enslaved. Majority of people in society are weak-minded and ignorant retards, masses that act like programmed robots and accept voluntarily slavery. But not me! I am self-aware and realize what is going on in society! I have a free mind! And I choose to be free rather than live like a robot or slave. You can say I have a “god complex”, sure… then you have a “group complex”! Compared to you retarded masses, I am actually godlike.
Totalitarian governments rule people through education system, consumerism, mass media, monopoly on the legitimate use of physical force (police, military) and laws discriminating people who think differently than the majority. Democracy… you think democracy means freedom and justice? You are wrong. Democracy is a dictatorship of the moral majority… and the majority is manipulated and ruled by the state mafia. Modern western democracy has nothing to do with freedom or justice; it is totalitarian and corrupted system. Laws are made over the heads of the people and people are being brainwashed to support the system and connected to the institutional structures immediately after their birth. Societies are being ruled by manipulative and charismatic politicians who only care about the interests of majority, and who do not base their decisions on reason but emotions and feelings of the masses. These masses let the authorities of state to make all the important decisions for them. The masses will get an education, they study, get a job, go to work and vote in elections. They think they are free and don’t criticise or question the system. They have become robots. It is like a constructed mechanism in mind, that leaves little choice for an individual to think, talk and act independently.We see in this part, the intellect that conveys Pekka's personality. Pekka attests that modern civilization has nothing beneficial for humanity and that, in fact, it limits and prevents it from developing as a species. however, unlike most common thinkers, he blames humanity itself for his condition. but if yes, why change? well, Pekka realized that humanity does not have a universal nature, but a pluralistic one, where various types of human beings, distinct in behavioral nature, coexist with each other, producing civilization. we see here that the problem is this same differentiation between human beings, and that unfortunately, most have a behavioral nature that allows the existence of civilization. Pekka also stands out in this part, having one of the 3 natures that will be mentioned below, which is perceptive people and linked to behavioral spontaneity. It is also important to mention that Pekka argues that essential change does not exist and therefore only by eliminating those that have a nature of subjugation to external social values will it be possible to create something better. another interesting thing he points out is how civilization tries to dominate the "behavioral deviations" that it itself produces, from things like psychiatry, medicine, ethics and those things that only serve for the self-preservation of society. Pekka also says that the extinction of the species would also be a final solution, which is true, but it is, in fact, unattainable and its presence in the manifesto is much more due to an intellectual sincerity than really a goal to be followed. Three Kinds Of Humans
There are three kinds of human personality types in this world:
1)individualistic human (3% of the world population)
2)manipulative human (3% of the world population)
3)mass human (94% of the world population)

They have chosen bit different paths paths. The percentages are only estimations though but are based on Gaussian distribution and history of human race and how humans have organized into societies. And this is the way it has always been ever since humans started to organize into communities.
Another way how to divide people is bit different but is based on the same facts, human nature and history. The division is based on the level of intelligence and quality of mentality:
1)intelligent (3% of the world population)
2)slightly retarded, so called “normal people” or “robots” (94% of the world population)
3)highly retarded, “vegetables” (3% of the world population)And finally we come to the origin of all evil. Pekka managed to do something incredible here: categorize the problem precisely, realistically observing that humanity consists of countless individuals with at least 3 antagonistic behavioral natures, who interacting, create the known human world. this part is also extremely important because it is not based on a prejudiced concept or anything like that, but on the primordial part of human reality. Faced with these data, we see that there are only two paths if you are a person who has real individualism: Isolation or Conflict against civilization. Pekka, the indigenous peoples, the barbarian peoples and the warlords chose the second option. Thinkers like Pentti Linkola, Jiddu Krishnamurti and others, as well as hermits or pacifist misanthropes have chosen the first option. Total War Against Humanity
Hate, Im so full of it and I love it. That is one thing I really love. Some time ago, I used to believe in humanity and I wanted to live a long and happy life… but then I woke up. I started to think deeper and realized things. But it was not easy to become existential… knowing as much as I know has made me unhappy, frustrated and angry. I just can’t be happy in the society or the reality I live. Due to long process of existential thinking, observing the society I live and some other things happened in my life… I have come to the point where I feel nothing but hate against humanity and human race.
Life is just a meaningless coincidence… result of long process of evolution and many several factors, causes and effects. However, life is also something that an individual wants and determines it to be. And I’m the dictator and god of my own life. And me, I have chosen my way. I am prepared to fight and die for my cause. I, as a natural selector, will eliminate all who I see unfit, disgraces of human race and failures of natural selection.
You might ask yourselves, why did I do this and what do I want. Well, most of you are too arrogant and closed-minded to understand… You will proprably say me that I am “insane”, “crazy”, “psychopath”, “criminal” or crap like that. No, the truth is that I am just an animl, a human, an individual, a dissident.
I have had enough. I don’t want to be part of this f*cked up society. Like some other wise people have said in the past, human race is not worth fighting for or saving… only worth killing. But… When my enemies will run and hide in fear when mentioning my name… When the gangsters of the corrupted governments have been shot in the streets… When the rule of idioracy and the democratic system has been replaced with justice… When intelligent people are finally free and rule the society instead of the idiocratic rule of majority… In that great day of deliverance, you will know what I want.
Long live the revolution… revolution against the system, which enslaves not only the majority of weak-minded masses but also the small minority of strong-minded and intelligent individuals! If we want to live in a different world, we must act. We must rise against the enslaving, corrupted and totalitarian regimes and overthrow the tyrants, gangsters and the rule of idiocracy. I can’t alone change much but hopefully my actions will inspire all the intelligent people of the world and start some sort of revolution against the current systems. The system discriminating naturality and justice, is my enemy. The people living in the world of delusion and supporting this system are my enemies.
I am ready to die for a cause I know is right, just and true… even if I would lose or the battle would be only remembered as evil… I will rather fight and die than live a long and unhappy life.
And remember that this is my war, my ideas and my plans. Don’t blame anyone else for my actions than myself. Don’t blame my parents or my friends. I told nobody about my plans and I always kept them inside my mind only. Don’t blame the movies I see, the music I hear, the games I play or the books I read. No, they had nothing to do with this. This is my war: one man war against humanity, governments and weak-minded masses of the world! No mercy for the scum of the earth! HUMANITY IS OVERRATED! It’s time to put NATURAL SELECTION & SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST back on tracks!

This is all shot without color correcting. So this is all raw footage. I also noticed a tiny blue dot pixel near the center of the screen. I fixed that afterwards with the manual censor cleaner, so that is not a problem with the camera or lens.

So edited together this video full of raw/unedited footage from Damian's footage. My footage is lost forever sadly. I deleted it after I uploaded the video last year which sucks. But this video shows you how difficult shooting this collab was. The Alligator broke in the first 5 minutes of filming and Damian had to "fake" it the rest of his portion which was almost impossible. Being this video is already over 2 years old, I don't have my footage saved or stored anywhere. I kept records of Damian's and the Alligator lines, so I was able to reconstruct the first portion of the video. As for the rest, sadly it can't be done since my footage is lost forever. I had over 5 hours of raw footage for my portions back then, but I didn't have any external hard drives to store the footage on. Nowadays if I do a big video I try to store raw footage away for later use. The only thing I couldn't touch up or fix is the audio itself. Damian used the Flip HD to film this video since this was a month before I got the Canon T2i. The mic on the Flip distorts sound over time and makes it pop in your speakers. So frequently, almost every few seconds, you hear a slight pop. That's really the only downside to the footage. This video goes down as one of my personal favorites so I had to recut and improve it. In my mind, it's a better cut than the original. It all began two years ago in October 2011. Now, things come full circle. The story picks up right where the Furby incident left off in October/November 2012. "There will never be a Part 2 for this series. I forgot I still had all of the raw footage saved on a TB drive, so figured I'd edit all of the outtakes, or at the least the bulk of them. This series was shot all on different days in 3 different months (October - December), and was never finished. I just wasn't motivated to keep writing and shooting and it shows sometimes in this footage (December). It was a good idea, I just didn't have the luxury of shooting time like I did last Halloween for the Furby video. If I had a week to myself, I could've got loads more done. The general idea was to have a 3-4 part 10-15 minute series but I only managed to get Part 1 finished (which took me practically a week to edit; also being I composed some original music myself), which even that showed I was pressed for time. I also was practically whispering since it was 11 o' clock at night when I filmed. It just wasn't happening, so the series was scrapped.

This starts with Dylan running from Eric Jackson's house at 7259 W Laurel Pl. Highway Patrol: This was filmed on at least 3 separate days. Eric can be seen wearing 3 different shirts. One gray, one dark green with unknown writing and his Tier shirt. Behind Blackjack: There is some other clearer footage from this video you may want to add to the folder. Dylan outside Columbine: Is rumored to be filmed by Brooks Brown. I would guess that this was filmed sometime closer to the beginning of the school year when they were working on the frankenstein play. But this is just a guess. Yours is as good as mine. RNN Logo Fire: This one was filmed behind the Cooper 7 theatre, it's also a bit confusing because although Eric Veik says that he filmed it, on page 010712 in Nate Dykeman's interview it says "He confirmed that he had in his possession two videotapes made by Dylan Klebold and him. One was made for the "Rebel News Network" announcements at CHS, and the other was made by them in 1998 for the purpose of showing Nate's father where he lives, goes to school, etc." It was Nate that provided the video tape to Jeffco, and it was also aired on his infamous but lost interview on Good Morning America. Here is a screenshot of the video with the GMA logo. They arrive in Dylan's BMW rather than Dustin's Chevelle that can often be see in their videos. I think it's also worth noting the time stamp at 11:06 am. Eric Inside Columbine: I'm wondering what your sources are for the exact date of part of the video. I've never heard of an exact date for this. Mock Kidnapping: Eric Veik was in fact the one who was filming. The tape came from his black camera case that was left inside the school. I would say that this was filmed not too long after September 15th, 1998. Morning Ride to Columbine: Was actually filmed in November/December 1998. Instead of releasing it publicly this month, what I'd like to do is find 5 people who'd like to beta test it for a couple of weeks. If anyone is interested, PM me and let me know. The document repository is strictly a site to house about 35,000 pages of documents and make them available without having to access PFD files, without having to to figure out which PDF file contains the page number you want to access, or any downloads, in a way that makes finding page numbers simple. For example, when you're looking at the page for the 11k report you can get to any page in the report with a single click from that page. There will be phases to the launch. The first phase is ready for testing even though it's not complete. I didn't know about the Rampart Range call. In the actual video one of the 2 older guys says "this is what happens when you let High Schoolers play with guns" It ticks me off honestly, then Mark Manes said he thought they were older.. he knew. He and Philip supposedly said how much E and D made them uneasy with their shooting.. I am paraphrasing. I feel that if I ever run into Sue again (as I have mentioned elsewhere I have met her at a couple different suicide and mental health symposia with her work in AFSP), I would hope I would have the balls to ask her that if I ever got an opportunity. The Mothers Day story always seemed a bit off to me too. Maybe it was the straw that broke the camels back? Dylan killed Lauren and then he and Eric met up over by table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] where one of them (most likely Eric) looked under the table and called the girls "pathetic" but didn't shoot them. Then they stop over by table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and at that point in time (which can be heard on the 911 call) one of the girls that was over by table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] started screaming "oh my God, help me". This is when Dylan starts yelling at her from over by table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] asking her if she believes in God. This conversation could be what lures them back over to table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Before heading back to table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], they stop and kill John Tomlin under table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. After that they go back over to table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which was packed with all those girls and they just start shooting at them. Kelly Fleming wasn't even under the table, she was kind of on the side of it and I believe she was shot right in the back. Anyway, no, I don't think it was personal. I don't think many of these kids in the Library knew who Dylan and Eric even were. There was more kids under that table to shoot at. That is why there was more shooting going on at that table than at a table that may have had 2 or 3 kids under it. There really was no reason for why they shot at some and not others. The bombs failed and they were improvising. They killed some and some they didn't. They basically said they were going to do that on the basement tapes. That they wanted to decide who lived and died. How Did Natural Selection Turn Into Idiocratic Selection?Today the process of natural selection is totally misguided. It has reversed. Human race has been devolving very long time for now. Retarded and stupid , weak-minded people are reproducing more and faster than the intelligent, strong-minded people. Laws protect the retarded majority which selects the leaders of society. Modern human race has not only betrayed its ancestors, but the future generations too. Homo Sapiens, HAH! It is more like a Homo Idioticus to me! When I look at people I see every day in society, school and everywhere… I can’t say I belong to same race as the lousy, miserable, arrogant, selfish human race! No! I have evolved one step above! Naturality has been discriminated through religions, ideologies, laws and other mass delusion systems. Individual, who is going through his/hers natural power process and trying to live naturally, but is being told that the way he acts or thinks is wrong and stupid, will usually have some reactions which might be considered as “psychological disorders” by the establishment. In reality they are just natural reactions to the disruption of natural power process. They will have some of the following (depending on individual’s personality): feelings of inferiority / superiority, hostility, aggression, frustration, depression, self-hatred / hatred towards other people, suicidal / homicidal thought etc… and it is completely normal. Humans are just a species among other animals and world does not exist only for humans. Death and killing is not a tragedy, it happens in nature all the time between all species. Not all human lives are important or worth saving. Only superior (intelligent, self-aware, strong-minded) individuals should survive while inferior (stupid, retarded, weak-minded masses) should perish. There is also another solution to the problem: stupid people as slaves and intelligent people as free. What I mean is that they who have free minds, are capable of intelligent existential and philosophical thinking and know what justice is, should be free and rulers… and the robotic masses, they can be slaves since they do not mind it now either and because their minds are on so retarded level. The gangsters that now rule societies, would of course get what they deserve. Of course there is a final solution too: death of entire human race. It would solve every problem of humanity. Collective Deindividualization: Totalitarianism & Delusions Of DemocracyCollective deindividualization is a phenomenon where individual will be trained as part of the mindless herd controlled by state, corporation, church or some other organization, group, ideology, religion or mass delusion system and adopt it’s rules, morality and codes of conduct. This phenomenon has been familiar in all despotic, authoritarian, totalitarian, monarchist, communist, socialist, nazi, fascist and religious societies troughout history. Also, the modern western democratic republics have the same phenomenon. It is just done so that people will think they are free and don’t realize they are being enslaved. Majority of people in society are weak-minded and ignorant retards, masses that act like programmed robots and accept voluntarily slavery. But not me! I am self-aware and realize what is going on in society! I have a free mind! And I choose to be free rather than live like a robot or slave. You can say I have a “god complex”, sure… then you have a “group complex”! Compared to you retarded masses, I am actually godlike. Totalitarian governments rule people through education system, consumerism, mass media, monopoly on the legitimate use of physical force (police, military) and laws discriminating people who think differently than the majority. Democracy… you think democracy means freedom and justice? You are wrong. Democracy is a dictatorship of the moral majority… and the majority is manipulated and ruled by the state mafia. Modern western democracy has nothing to do with freedom or justice; it is totalitarian and corrupted system. Laws are made over the heads of the people and people are being brainwashed to support the system and connected to the institutional structures immediately after their birth. Societies are being ruled by manipulative and charismatic politicians who only care about the interests of majority, and who do not base their decisions on reason but emotions and feelings of the masses. These masses let the authorities of state to make all the important decisions for them. The masses will get an education, they study, get a job, go to work and vote in elections. They think they are free and don’t criticise or question the system. They have become robots. It is like a constructed mechanism in mind, that leaves little choice for an individual to think, talk and act independently. Hate, Im so full of it and I love it. That is one thing I really love. Some time ago, I used to believe in humanity and I wanted to live a long and happy life… but then I woke up. I started to think deeper and realized things. But it was not easy to become existential… knowing as much as I know has made me unhappy, frustrated and angry. I just can’t be happy in the society or the reality I live. Due to long process of existential thinking, observing the society I live and some other things happened in my life… I have come to the point where I feel nothing but hate against humanity and human race. Life is just a meaningless coincidence… result of long process of evolution and many several factors, causes and effects. However, life is also something that an individual wants and determines it to be. And I’m the dictator and god of my own life. And me, I have chosen my way. I am prepared to fight and die for my cause. I, as a natural selector, will eliminate all who I see unfit, disgraces of human race and failures of natural selection. You might ask yourselves, why did I do this and what do I want. Well, most of you are too arrogant and closed-minded to understand… You will proprably say me that I am “insane”, “crazy”, “psychopath”, “criminal” or crap like that. No, the truth is that I am just an animl, a human, an individual, a dissident. I have had enough. I don’t want to be part of this f*cked up society. Like some other wise people have said in the past, human race is not worth fighting for or saving… only worth killing. If it comes to the time when we are trapped with absolutely no way out, we eat crickets along with a ton of chlorine or some other deadly gas, so when we die, so will anyone close to us. If we have figured out the art of time bombs before hand, we will set hundreds of them around houses, roads, bridges, buildings and gas stations, anything that will cause damage and chaos. Drainage of blood from the right side of the head was consistent with the position of the body as found. A large pool of blood was present on the carpet extending to the west of the victim's head area and under the victim's chest and right arm. The victim's eyeglasses were present under the lower portion of the face. No bloodstains were noted on the pants or shoes of the victim. No impact blood spatter was noted in the area. A short time later witnesses described hearing what they now believed were gunshots and explosions inside the school. Some of the witnesses described hearing those sounds emanating from the commons area, in addition to directly outeide the library During that time frame, both Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold are seen in the hall directly outside the library. Enc Harris is subsequently seen in the hall outside the library throwing a lit device (resembling "dynamite") in a southerly direction. Moments later there is an explosion in the hall directly outside the library. Eric Harris enters the library and he is seen firing two shotgun rounds in a westerly direction with a pump action shotgun (pellets). Flying wood splinters injures Evan Todd, who is hiding behind a copier stand. Both Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold are then described entering the library and moving in a westerly direction. Dylan Klebold is subsequently seen shooting a double barrel shotgun (pellets) towards the north computer table as he moves west past the main counter of the library. (The investigation disclosed Kyle Velasquez was shot twice with shotgun pellets while seated at the north computer table.) Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold are next seen setting down backpacks on the southeast corner of the south computer table. Both suspects are then seen walking west between the north and south computer tables. Witnesses reported Dylan Klebold stopped at the west end of the computer tables while Eric Harris continued around and then began walking south. After arriving on the south side of the computer tables, Eric Harris got down on his left knee and began shooting out the west library windows. According to witnesses, Dylan Klebold subsequently positioned himself east of Eric Harris and ducked down. Witnesses reported Klebold subsequently fired a weapon in the direction of the west windows. The device is retrieved by Makai Hall and thrown to the south, where It explodes. Witnesses did report hearing books being shot in the area near the west set of bookshelves shortly after Eric Harris walked into that area. At the same time witnesses explained seeing Dylan Klebold walking on the north side of the library (south of the main counter) moving in an easterly direction. Dylan Klebold continues moving east, stopping near the entrance to the library (north of the display case). Dylan Klebold then fires a Tech 9 into the display case. During that time Eric Harris was seen walking north through the center section to the south computer table where he gained access to the blue backpack reportedly containing ammunition. Eric Harris then returned to an area near table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. While at that location Eric Harris asked a student under table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to identify himself. The student identified himself as John Savage. Eric Harris then moved north of table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] as Dylan Klebold made contact with John Savage. Dylan Klebold eventually told John Savage to leave the library, which he does. While standing north of table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], Eric Harris then shot Daniel Mauser twice (who was located under table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) with a high point carbine rifle. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold then moved south in the library towards table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Dylan Klebold then begins firing under table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] with his Tech 9, hitting Corey DePooter. Eric Harris then begins firing with the high point carbine rifle under the same table, hitting Corey DePooter and Jennifer Doyle. (Note: A fourth 9 mm. round was fired under table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] hitting Austin Eubanks. The origin of that round cannot be determined.) Witnesses reported Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris then moved north in the center section of the library and are seen together as they pass by the east side of table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris then proceed to the southeast corner of the far south computer table. Eric Harris is then seen throwing a device with an orange liquid (southerly direction) in the west section of the library. There was no sound associated with that device being thrown. Witnesses reported Dylan Klebold then walked around behind the main counter from the west while Eric Harris walked around the counter from the east. At that point Dylan Klebold confronts and threatens Evan Todd, who is now hiding behind the main counter. The investigation revealed Dylan Klebold turned away from Evan Todd and fired a 9 mm round back into the "kitchen" area of the library, striking a television. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris next discussed leaving the library and going to the "commons." Prior to leaving the library Dylan Klebold slams a chair down on a computer terminal (located on the main counter). Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris subsequently leave the library. Note - From the point the suspects entered the library until the time they left was approximately 7 1/2 minutes.) Most victims and witnesses begin to leave the library, exiting out the north door. A short time later Patricia Nielsen crawls into the break room ("kitchen") and hides in a cupboard. Carol Weld and Lois Keen remain hidden in the television studio. Peggy Dodd was hiding in the periodicals room. All the above named remained in the library until they were evacuated by SWAT. I apologise for asking, as you've obviously gone over it before, but as I am new to the forum. What was she like in real life? What vibe did she give off?
Sue is a really genuine person with a sincere interest in helping those with mental illnesses. I never asked her any Columbine-related questions or anything about Dylan; as a matter of fact, with my interactions with her, I acted the same as many people there who were not aware of her past. She seems overall like she could be anyone's aunt or mother, very soft-spoken and thoughtful. Never noticed that either. For a while I thought maybe she was leaning up against the wall. Only because in the bad quality footage/screenshots we've had up until now kinda makes her body and that blood stain look they're one thing. It's also sad seeing the swat team finally get over there to get them out of the line of fire, knowing all of them probably thought they were gonna rescue 2 kids. The sudden realization is evident. They didn't start fights. They hung out in their circle of friends and they didn't bother anybody, and nobody bothered them. The two teens who turned into killers may have been part of an odd group at Columbine High, the so-called Trenchcoat Mafia, but they weren't really scary. Speaking publicly for the first time, student Mikala Scrodin finds herself agreeing with most of her classmates. (Photo of Harris) Ms. TERRA OGLESBEE: You know, just not really like pretty clouds and flowers, it was more like dark clouds and dead flowers. TAIBBI: If they weren't that scary to most of their classmates, it's perhaps because Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, for all the ever darker trappings of their young rebels' poses, didn't seem like the typical losers at the bottom rung of a high school society. They were good students, and nice looking to boot, who spent their off hours going bowling, playing video games, planning for college. (Voiceover) That's why many of their peers were shocked when the killers at Columbine High turned out to be them, the killers who were somehow able to get four guns, 50 bombs, and an intricate plan of lethal calculation into a school, executing a teacher and 12 students, injuring dozens, then turning their shotguns on themselves. Were there any road signs on their individual journeys toward that terrible final destination? (Shocked students and parents crying after shootings; SWAT team; stretcher being put into ambulance; injured students; crime scene tape; photos of Harris and Klebold) Reverend WILLIAM STONE: He was active in things that young people get involved in, like the Scouting program and Little League. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Reverend William Stone lived across the street from the Harris' in 1989 when Eric and his older brother and parents lived in Oscoda, Michigan. Eric had been born in Wichita, Kansas. But his father, Wayne, an Air Force pilot, moved the family every few years. Reverend Stone recalled a normal family, and in Eric a friendly, happy nine-year-old. (Neighborhood; photo of Harris; Oscoda town sign) Rev. STONE: He was bright. He was also very good at computers at that young age. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) It was all good at the Harris' next stop too, in 1991, at the now closed Plattsburgh Air Force Base in upstate New York. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Eric continued with his Scouting and with baseball. Today his Little League coach can only remember an eager to please, innocent kid from a happy, two-parent family. (Little League team photo) Unidentified Man [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: There isn't any way in the world that I could ever conceive that that person would do this, the person that we know, the Eric Harris that we know. No way. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Dylan Klebold, meanwhile, was another baseball fan and Boy Scout who spent his whole life in Colorado with his older brother and his parents. His father, Thomas, a businessman and former geophysicist, and his mother, Sue, an administrator for a disabled students program. Onetime neighbors Vickey and Randy DeHoff remember a happy family. (Scouting photo of Klebold; photo of Klebold with friends; Vickey and Randy DeHoff) Mr. RANDY DEHOFF: They knew what their kids were doing, they cared what their kids were doing. They were involved, they were there. Ms. VICKEY DEHOFF: Dylan was just an ordinary, average, happy little guy. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Dylan met Eric when both were in junior high school in 1994. The Harris' had just moved to Littleton. Friends say from the beginning, Eric was the leader, and Dylan the follower. They were both young computer whizzes and solid students. And they played recreational league soccer together, with Eric eventually named team captain. In this home video, seen here for the first time, he's number seven on the field, described as a good but not great player. And at a team end of the year banquet, with his hat on backwards and with a smile, one of his rare smiles according to assistant coach John Shultice. (Junior high school; computer; footage of Harris playing soccer; footage from team banquet) Mr. JOHN SHULTICE: A quiet kid, and very stern. You could see that he was one of the kids that you knew in high school that was intense. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) But though they enjoyed soccer and other sports, they were not good enough athletes to even go out for Columbine's varsity sports teams. Eric would not follow in the footsteps of his older brother Kevin, a former varsity football star. Eric and Dylan were never going to join the jock elite, their school's inner circle. They were outsiders, and saw themselves that way. (Footage of boys playing soccer; Columbine High; photo of Kevin Harris; kids in school hallway) Ms. SCRODIN: The jocks didn't like them. They taunted them and teased them and stuff because of the way they looked. (Voiceover) There was just so much tension between the groups, kind of like a competition in a way, and I mean you see it everywhere. (School bus) TAIBBI: (Voiceover) After a while it wasn't just jocks the two outsiders said they hated. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Classmates say the two retreated further and further into a smaller and smaller world--a world described by how they dressed, mostly all black with long black push coats; by the music they listened to, German rock groups with their gothic themes of apocalypse and strike-first violence; and by the computer games they'd play together for hours. Brooks Brown was a friend of both teens. (School hall; clip from computer game) Mr. BROOKS BROWN: I know Eric loved playing Doom. I know Eric loved playing, like, Blood, and all of these other first-person shooters for computers. TAIBBI: Millions of teen-agers play those games or listen to that music. Many kids say they hate their teachers or their classmates, or one clique or another. Many kids do see themselves as outcasts, or behave in a way that makes them outcasts for awhile. But for Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, isolation from the mainstream was not a passing phase. Then, a little over a year ago, as shown by Harris' diary entries about the planned assault, the quality of their anger changed. (Voiceover) On March 25th of last year, Harris and Klebold pleaded guilty to felony theft and trespass, admitting that two months earlier they'd stolen some electronic equipment from a van. As minors, they were sentenced to a one-year diversion program, a youthful version of probation. In audiotapes of that diversion hearing, Magistrate Jack DeVita first questions Harris. (Graphic of court documents; audiotape recorder; photos of Harris and DeVita shown during playing of tape) Magistrate JACK DeVITA: (From tape) Now this was the first time you went out and engaged in this kind of activity, isn't it? Mr. ERIC HARRIS: (From tape) Yes, sir. Magistrate DeVITA: (From tape) Why don't I believe that? TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Then the magistrate addresses Klebold, who says he's a B-minus or C-plus student. Magistrate DeVITA: (From tape) I bet you're an A student, if you put--put the brainpower to the paperwork, aren't you? Mr. DYLAN KLEBOLD: (From tape) I don't know, sir. Magistrate DeVITA: (From tape) You don't know? Well, when the hell are you going to find out? You got one year of school left. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Bobbi Spicer supervised the diversion program to which both teens were assigned. She says it seemed they'd gotten the message, staying in school and even finishing the program six weeks ahead of schedule because they followed all the rules perfectly. (Bobbi Spicer working) Ms. BOBBI SPICER: They successfully completed everything, and they completed it timely or early. They were very compliant. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) But neither Spicer nor Magistrate DeVita later knew that the two youths were angrier than ever following their first encounter with the criminal justice system. Friends say it's because a week after their guilty pleas, Klebold and Harris watched as that same system dealt differently, in their view, with a group of jocks. (People walking in front of courthouse window; courthouse) Mr. ANDREW BEARD: They thought that they should've, I guess, been doing jail time, just like kicked out of school or suspended for a week. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) It was April 4th of '98, when five Columbine students, including four athletes, were charged with burglarizing and trashing an apartment in a revenge attack that resulted in thousands of dollars in damages. The charges against two of the students were reduced to misdemeanors. But the other three defendants, including state wrestling champ Rocky Hoffschneider, would plead guilty to felony burglary, and be sentenced to four years probation. Hoffschneider spent three days in jail and was briefly suspended by his high school, his lawyer says, though he did go on to graduate with offers of college athletic scholarships. Andrew Beard says his friend Dylan Klebold was furious over what he saw as a double standard for jocks, not only in school, but outside as well. (Graphic of court documents and mug shots of students; Beard walking; Columbine High) Mr. BEARD: He just went off, he was just like, 'Oh, jocks can do this and that and have--don't have to worry about what will happen because they just--they can do anything they want.' TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Eric Harris' long-simmering anger now began to include specific threats. Student Brooks Brown says that after last spring, Harris used his existing Web site and the Internet for more than just games. (Photo of Harris; Harris' Web page) Mr. BROWN: On his Web page he had, 'The top 10 things I hate most,' and I was number one. He gave out my address and phone number, and said how 'This guy, I'm going to kill him, I'm going to get a gun.' (Voiceover) He threatened me. He told me he was going to kill me. He threatened my friends. (Photo of Harris) TAIBBI: (Voiceover) When Brooks' parents heard this, they didn't sit idly by. They say they twice complained to authorities, a claim confirmed by this police blotter item that appeared in the local paper in March of '98, a father reported that his son had been threatened. The threats were right there on Eric Harris' Web page. When Judy Brown printed out some of the more violent passages and gave them to the police, at least one detective said there was reason to worry. (Judy Brown; newspaper front page; police blotter item; Harris' Web page; sheriff's department) Ms. JUDY BROWN: He called in his bomb specialist. The bomb specialist showed us what a bomb would look like, a pipe bomb, so we could look around our yard and under our cars. He was quite concerned. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) In fact, it was clear from Harris' Web page that his rage was boiling over. Here are some passages, minus the expletives. "My belief is that if I say something, it goes. I am the law, if you don't like it, you die. God, I can't wait till I can kill you people. I'll just go to some downtown area in some big city and blow up and shoot everything I can. Feel no remorse, no sense of shame. You all better hide because I'm coming for everyone soon, and I will be armed to the teeth, and I will shoot to kill because dead people don't argue!" (Voiceover) And how did the Browns find their way to Harris' private Web page? It turns out, Judy Brown says, that the person who told her son about the Web page was none other than Dylan Klebold, Eric Harris' best friend. (Graphic of Harris' Web page printouts; drawings; Judy Brown at home; photo of Klebold) Ms. BROWN: He said whoever gave it to him was afraid of Eric, and please don't ever tell who gave--who had given the information. And until this happened, I didn't know that it was, in fact, Dylan Klebold that had given my son access to the information. (Voiceover) Now that I look back, I think that maybe he saw it going in a bad direction, maybe that was a cry for help. (Photo of Klebold) TAIBBI: (Voiceover) But Judy Brown says the police did nothing, and her own fears subsided when her son told her he and Eric Harris had made peace and resumed a friendship. What few people knew, though, was that for Eric Harris, writing about violence and guns was no longer enough. During an argument outside a 7-11 last July 4th, witnesses say Harris or one of his friends allegedly flashed a gun, a pistol grip shotgun. And Harris reportedly told several classmates he'd begun assembling a whole arsenal of guns and fireworks and bomb components. He told Brooks Brown that it wasn't just talk. (Sheriff's department; Brooks Brown; photo of Harris; Harris' Web site; photo of Harris; 7-11; Harris home; photo of Harris) Mr. BROWN: He was building pipe bombs in his basement, and he was telling us about them and how he was detonating them and using fireworks by peoples' houses, just people he didn't like. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) At the same time, Harris and Klebold became more brazen about their claimed neo-Nazi affections. (Photos of Harris and Klebold; Nazi swastika) Boy [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: They spoke German to each other and stuff, and wore clothing sometimes with swastikas on it and stuff. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) They became more offhand about their obsession with guns, one classmate recalling a poetry exercise by Harris. (Guns; photo of Harris) Unidentified Girl [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: We had to pick an object that we were going to be. He chose a bullet. And we had to choose a best friend, and Eric chose that his best friend was a gun. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Still, many, if not most of their classmates, saw it all as shock value stuff, the poems, the essays about "Rambo"-style annihilation, the home video depicting their destruction of the jocks. Besides, Klebold and Harris were going ahead with their college applications, just like any seniors. They began working at this pizza parlor, their on-the-job performance just fine. They had no trouble making their 6:30 in the morning bowling class. Dylan was offered a job at a computer store. He was accepted by the University of Arizona. And he would even take a date to the senior prom. So what about all the talk of guns? What about the air of menace, the swastikas? Unidentified Boy [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: I knew he was, like, setting off bombs out in the field and stuff, but I know I've had my--I've done my fair share of some of that and, you know, just grab the big firecrackers, go watch them blow up. But it was no big deal. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) But for Eric Harris, the leader between the two, the news was bad and getting worse by the day. He was turned down by every college he'd applied to. The girl he asked to the prom said no. And on April 15th, five days before the massacre, Harris tried to sign up for the Marines and was rejected. The reason--he was taking an anti-depressant drug called Luvox, which is used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder. Harris' friends reportedly wonder if he stopped using the drug in his last days, though Brooks Brown says he never stopped ranting about guns. (Photo of Harris; footage of emergency workers handling person on stretcher; Marines recruiting center; three medications; guns) Mr. BROWN: He was talking about how when he turns 18--he turned 18 and how he was going to get a gun and how he just wished there wasn't a stupid waiting period. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Two days later, April 17th, neighbors recall loud noises coming from Harris' garage when it's believed he and Klebold were putting together pipe bombs for their arsenal. And on the 20th of April, Eric Harris, with Dylan Klebold at his side, stopped waiting. Could the answer to the terrible puzzle be that simple? That two kids who saw themselves as the losers in a double standard high school world moved from virtual violence in computer scenarios to planning the real thing when they felt that double standard existed beyond the school grounds? Dr. Erika Freeman, a psychiatrist who specializes in treating creative and troubled minds, never met the killers, but has thought about the last year of their lives. (Harris' home and neighborhood; footage of Columbine scenes; photos of Klebold and Harris side by side; computer game; Dr. Erika Freeman) TAIBBI: Their behavior was different by a degree than it had been the previous year? Dr. ERIKA FREEMAN: It's the difference between temperature and fever. And nobody recognized when the fever started. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Today the "if only" questions--"if only I'd known what they were really thinking and doing"--are haunting to so many people. Eric Harris' parents are in seclusion, but Dylan Klebold's father Tom reportedly lamented, 'It can't be. My son's not like this. He's not violent.' While his mother, Sue, according to Judy Brown, who was with her when the news broke, struggled to understand her son's explosive relationship with Harris. (Footage of Columbine High scenes; Harris' home; photos of Klebold) Ms. BROWN: They were afraid he was some way connected because he was a friend of Eric's, but they couldn't imagine the connection in the violent way. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Others recall what they saw in a backward search for the clues they wish they'd seen, like the magistrate who sentenced Harris and Klebold to probation last March. (Footage of SWAT team members approaching school behind fire truck; photos of Klebold and Harris) Magistrate DeVITA: I didn't see any red flags. I didn't see any markers. I didn't see any attitude. I didn't see any dysfunction in the relationship with the boys. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) And to the supervisor whose department released the two from probation. (Spicer working at desk) Ms. SPICER: We've spent agonizing time. Even over the weekend we were calling each other and saying, 'OK, so what about this and what about that?' and 'Maybe we should try this.' We're really trying hard to see what we could have done. TAIBBI: But Dr. Freeman says, by then, it was probably already too late. Dr. FREEMAN: They were sick. And they had the kind of sickness that we never catch. And they are never caught until they do something horrible. TAIBBI: (Voiceover) Horrible, of course, does not come near to describing what they did. For days, we have watched a litany of unspeakable grief, a teacher and 14 children going to their rest instead of celebrating the richness of another spring. Who could think to author mayhem on this scale? Who could actually do it, and for what reasons that anyone could understand? Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold took with them whatever answers they might have had when they turned their guns on themselves, a final act to make the pain of grieving deeper still. (Footage of injured persons, memorials, people mourning at Columbine; funeral service; photo of Isaiah Shoels) JANE PAULEY: Tomorrow, students from Columbine High and other local schools are planning to protest outside the Denver hotel where the National Rifle Association is scheduled to meet. The NRA scaled back its long-planned convention in Denver after the massacre, but it wouldn't cancel it.
