Why do some people associate racism with school shootings?

I've been watching a show about people reacting to racism and most them would insult them by telling they are a school shooter.

AFAIK most shooters weren't racist they were just mentally ill

Because edgy shooters will write anything and when they hate people they will use the worst of the worst to describe anyone and that includes slurs.

Because most Americans nowadays are stupid and delusional.
Also because the school shooter or mass shooters are trying to get reactions from these people.

Because school shooters have a history of racism.
