Scholarly study on Columbiners

I came across this and found it fascinating.
I can't agree with all its conclusions and unfortunately the writer gives some credence to Cullen but it is the most even handed treatment of the subject I've ever seen.
It's well worth a read.

Read it. Interesting, I'd personally agree with the views of the person behind the document.

Primarily with the statement that columbiners are for the most part people who misinterpret E&D as bullied outcast geeks, identify with them as such and project their own experiences and beliefs onto E&D. I would also agree that there are many trolls in the group.

This is less prevalent here, but back on the old forums we were having repeating attempted invasions of the forums by waves of trolls. Danny Ledonne was particularly unwilling to use the ban hammer on anyone and at one point we had one troll who spent countless hours trying to destroy every thread for weeks. When Danny finally banned him/her (probably one of 3 or so people he ever banned) the whole forum was cheering the decision.
