In his autopsy report, it is stated that that rigor is absent. However, I found this interesting: Reddish-purple livor is well set over the anterior (front) aspects of the body on the right side. That's consistent with the photos of him lying dead on the sidewalk. Then this tidbit: There is some livor posteriorly (back) with appropriate blanching of the pressure points.

Basically livor mortis is the pooling of blood after death due to gravity. It takes 8-12 hours generally to fix. This is what causes bodies to discolor. Rigor mortis is the phenomen that causes the body to stiffen for a period of time. Was he moved to cause the livor to fix both anteriorally and posteriorly?

Eric harris's states: rigor is present in the lower extremities only. Faint reddish-purple livor is present over the dorsal aspects of the body with appropriate blanching of the pressure points.

Dylan's states: rigor is minimal in the neck and the right lower extremity; absent in other areas of the body. Faint reddish-purple livor is set over the dorsal aspects of the body with appropriate blanching of the pressure points. Also present is accentuated dark purple Livor involving the portions of the fingers external to the glove of the left hand. Dylan's body also displayed signs of early decomposition.

Of course, both rigor and livor mortis are unique to each individual and climate in which they are found. We know it snowed the night Rohrbough was left lying outside, which according to my knowledge and experience, should slow the progression of rigor. He was autopsied the very next day so that may explain why rigor had not been present.

Edit to say, poor Isaiah. My heart broke reading his report. Although it didn't discuss livor or rigor mortis, he seemed to also to decomposing at a fairly rapid rate to the point he had skin slippage which is not noted on the other reports.

I've always wondered what that technical jargon on the autopsy reports meant. Thanks for clearing some up. If you see any other interesting things from the reports that us "normal" people wouldn't understand, please do tell us!

I don't understand most of what was put onto the autopsy reports. There should be a "for dummies" version. I had to google a lot of the terms

My google search history should be interesting

Also noted at autopsy was mole in Eric's groin. The explanation of his self inflicted gunshot wound is gruesome, and I surely hope his family have not seen the suicide photos. I have seen these firsthand and it is horrible.

I referenced in a previous post about what happens sometimes after death, losing control of bowels, bladder and purging stomach contents. It appears in the case of Isaiah, he indeed had bloody purge in the mouth and nostrils along with blistering of the skin of his torso and extremities. For some reason, he decomposed at a much more rapid rate than the others....that we know of.

As an Assistant Medical Examiner I would be very interested in all the autopsy reports, but NOT the photos.

Can I ask a stupid question...? Obviously humans tend to have a bunch of moles...why were 2 on Eric's body even noted? Why would that matter?

One thing I have always wondered about is this:

This is a snip from Dylan's autopsy.

It mentions pulmonary edema. And from what I gather it is associated or can be associated with heart failure. Could this be caused from his suicide or would this have been something going on from when he was alive?[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

In my experience, this is most often found in drug overdose cases and on occasion manual strangulation. If I had to theorize, I would say this occurred after the self inflicted gunshot wound that possibly destroyed the part of the brain that regulates your lung function and I think it further indicates he was alive for some time prior to death.

Weird! Thanks!

I seem to recall there was some dark bruising or something on Dylan's balls? Or am I just making that up?

Also, and I could be making this up, but weren't Eric & Dylan both reported to have a penis 'of normal size and shape'? What would constitute of an abnormal shape? I don't recall any victim genital reports - could this be because one of them had a freakishly shaped wang!?

Eric basically blew the entire top of his head off, evacuating his brain. This injury measured 8" long by 3" wide. The force of the shotgun blast caused his eyeballs to distort because of the fractures of the bones of the eyes. He pretty much decimated all his facial bones. Included with his body were: skull fragments with 1 tooth, 600 grams of decomposed brain tissue.

I know with Dan they did go and check him to be sure he was dead or to see if he needed to be rescued. Could this account for it?

So tomb, you could basically look into the top of Eric's head and there'd be a hole where his brain was. Gruesome. I find it shocking that he only knocked one tooth out. Id figure the blast of a 12 gauge inside the mouth would do more damage to the teeth.

I still can't get over the fact that Eric was brought in pantless and Dylan wasn't, why would they cut away his pants entirely?

The blood on Harris's pants belonged to Klebold, they probably kept it separate for that reason.
I think that was a reddish birthmark on Eric, a lot more distinguished than a mole.
It doesn't matter if Harris & Klebold's parents saw the suicide photos, they must have seen their sons bodies in person. I've looked close at the suicide photos, and Eric's face is unrecognizable

Tomb, I've also read that when they lifed up Eric's body whatever remaining blood and brains spilled out of his head and caused a smaller pile of remains on the floor.

Randy might. He has the Holy grail of Columbine information. I'd love to be able to spend a few days going through his library of information. He without a doubt knows certain facts that we would love to know. As far as the autopsys being released, I know a judge ordered the killers to be released as public knowledge. I'm not sure, but do things such as autopsy reports have to be released after a certain amount of years, due to the freedom of information act as I believe it's called.

Well, this is sad. I've been discussing the boys for so Long and now I'm reminded that Eric basically annihilated his entire head off.

Don't feel guilty at all [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. In fact it's a good thing we have someone on here with this kind of knowledge to break it down for us.

All it says about Dylan is that there is postmortem drying artifact on the anterior (front) surface of the scrotum. This could be urine or semen, it's not specified.

In all the full reports we have available, all the victims' and perpetrators' genitals are discussed as normal, in normal position and some even address the scrotum.

In Isaiah's, they actually state there's active sperm under microscopic observation.

Do you think this is related to the overheard boner comment the boys made after Isaiah getting shot? Possibly like a post death boner or something and then release of liquids or whatever (talking out of my ass).

I am sure that Eric's parents didn't see his body.
Most parents wouldn't want to see their child in such a condition .
It would have taken a fortune in reconstruction work to make him viewable and since any funeral they had for him had to be so secret and I'm sure they were afraid of being harassed about the funeral, what would be the point?
It's better for them to remember him as the healthy young boy he was.

Eric's parents didn't fight his autopsy being released so it came out in the Summer of 99.
Dylan's parents did fight his being released for about 4 years but the decision went against them and I think his came out in 2003.

One other thing I guess I would ask is this... people speculate on the cuts/abrasions on Eric and Dylan's arms/legs. I tried to read the description but it is confusing. Does the description of these cuts and abrasions fit what might be self harm or not quite?
