Would like help with Case Study ideas, evidence, and thoughts

Background: I'm creating a presentation on the topic of school shootings in America, and have decided to include Columbine and the Marysville Pilchuck shootings. My specific topic of study on these cases is the use of surveillance and personal technologies (i.e. cameras, cctv, and cell phones).

Currently, I am looking for the technologies used in Columbine High School and finding evidence to report on what was done and what we could have improved upon. It has occurred to me that cell phones were not as revolutionary back then as they are today, so I plan on including that drawback in my speech.

Also, I plan on bringing two solutions to the table regarding technology: the first being: surveillance should be used to rebuild trust in schools and the second regarding cell phone use as response during a school shooting. This means what the students can do with their devices rather than using the traditional run and hide strategy.

I would highly appreciate any help or interviews (private message is cool too, if it's possible).

Very little technology was used during Columbine though besides phone calls from the office, or the library or using the school phones if that's what you mean. I do remember something about some students in the class turning their class TV on and watching the report on what's happening in the school live. A couple of students most likely had a cellphone and called 911 during the event.

A lot of kids had pagers. I can't say cellphones were prevalent yet.

There were cctv cameras in the caffeteria, lots of fixed phones as well as pay phones used to dial 911. TV 's inside the school were used by a number of students to watch the situation live after the first news helicopter arrived around 12:10.
